Hodgson: "England are favourites to win."
England manager Roy Hodgson believes that his England side are the 'favourites to win' Euro 2016 after their World Cup success.
Hodgson, 68, has led England to their first World Cup success since 1966 and is now helping his England side qualify for the Euro 2016 knock-out stages after beating Croatia in their first group game after an Oxlade-Chamberlain masterclass.
Hodgson was called to a press conference with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after the game to discuss both the game and player performances, as well as the next two games against Norway and Bulgaria which on paper look like two comfortable wins for Hodgson's 'roaring lions'.
"Our performance today was sublime as we won by a comfortable margin and we didn't concede any goals within the 90 minutes which is very pleasing. Of course Alex played a huge part in our performance today, it's not every day you see a player get a hat-trick against a team like Croatia but this is why Alex is currently one of the most exciting players in the World currently. I believe we are favourites to win this tournament after our performance and success in the World Cup."
If England perform as they did in Brazil we could see them earn their second piece of silverware in two years and manager Roy Hodgson will go down in the history books for his huge success at the helm.
