April Story of the Month

April has been a month filled with a lot to celebrate; Easter, 4/20, but most importantly some of the best stories we've had throughout perhaps all of the FM14 season thus far! It was by far the hardest yet for the judges to select five stories for you all to vote on, but before we take a look at the stories, let's meet our six judges:
  • Walter
  • Neal
  • Pauker
  • Rablador
  • Justice
  • jasonvilla4ever

And now, your five contenders for the coveted Story of the Month prize!

Neal's [FM13] Giuseppe Bergomi - The King of Calcio
Giuseppe Bergomi is right back to his usual schedule of dominating world football after clearing his name from a career-threatening match-fixing scandal. Though the Nerazzurri lead Serie A by some way, it will be a challenge to see if Beppe can lead his charges to a third straight Champions League, especially with the European Championship looming in the summer.

Neal's Francesco Totti - Il Gladiatore di Roma
After a smashing first season in charge of his lifelong club, Francesco Totti has just kicked off his second season in charge of AS Roma with a win in the Supercoppa Italiana. Defending their Italian double from last season will not be easy, however, with Juventus and AC Milan hot on their necks, not to mention the added pressure of the UEFA Champions League group stages (and beyond?).

Nick's Tottenham Hotspur: Like a Boas
Andre Villas-Boas may have utterly flopped at Chelsea, but he's done absolutely brilliantly with Tottenham Hotspur. Now entering the 2018-2019 season on the back of a famous treble of the Barclays Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and Capital One Cup, Spurs have become a world powerhouse. Led by the likes of Mitrovic and Lamela, it's only a matter of time before more trophies find their way to White Hart Lane.

Neal's Neal Sociedad: The Real Deal
When Philippe Montanier left Real Sociedad, nobody was quite sure who would take the reigns. Di Matteo? Bielsa? Nobody expected unknown American Neal Hasan, that's for sure, but now he's got the reigns. It's yet to be seen whether or not the squad will respect him, but with the season looming close, Hasan most focus in on trying to win his Champions League playoff and getting off to the right start in La Liga.

Josh_MU's England - The Roaring Lions
When Roy Hodgson was first appointed England manager, he certainly had his critics. A World Cup title and a knighthood later, he is one of England's greatest heroes. The national team is playing it's best football yet, and led by [the finally delivering] Wayne Rooney and Jordan Henderson, the nation looks set to add the European Championship to their cabinet as well.

Pauker's Racing Santander: Raul's Chance
Raul Gonzalez enjoyed one of the greatest playing careers in history, paving his way to stardom as the captain of Real Madrid and a national team leader for Spain. However, now the legend has decided to try his hand at managing with Racing Santander. Las Racingistas have charged up the league, and now are fighting in Liga Adelante to be promoted to Liga BBVA.

Jamesg237's The Unemployment Challenge
James Gallagher didn't start with much in the footballing world. He began his humble managerial journey with Grimsby town, but before long he had taken Notts County all the way to the top half of the Premier League. The upstart Englishman quickly rose up the ranks of stardom, and has just now taken charge of Newcastle United, with the dream of making Europe with the Toon Army.

Note

Due to new Story of the Month rules that have just today been introduced, two new stories have been added to the poll. It has been decided that five writers must be nominated for the award; however, each writer can have as many stories nominated as the judges decide, as long as five writers total are represented. If you don't like this change, blame Stam. Says the guy with 3 stories on the poll...
It's spelled "Hodgson". Just so you know! :£

I cannot tell you how happy I am for being nominated for Story of the Month! I'd just like to wish the other nominees good luck! May the best story win. :)

Though I really do hope Nick wins it, his story is amazing and he's never won it... So I voted for yours to win Nick! :P

Firstly, thank you all so much for THREE nominations! I feel very proud to have all three recognized, and I couldn't have done it without all of your guys' support :D

However, let's be deceitful. Dick's story has over 100k views, over 700 inches, beautiful texture, and numerous nominations. It is an absolute tesitcle that this woman's testicular Spuds story has not yet won a SPERM title, and so my vote goes to Dick!

Nick's has to win! :P I vote for him.

SERIOUSLY? My vote is to...
It is great to see Neal's increasing efforts rewarded justly with three deserved nominations this month; he is the king of story writing and has been for over a year now. Congratulations on your three nominations my friend, it is great to see such consistency :)

Nick's story has become a "fan favourite" here over the past few months, and has been a pleasure to read view. The graphics that this young man produces to portray his story are simply unmatched! It is a surprise that he is yet to win a Story of the Month award, maybe he will one this month :)

As for Josh's story; congratulations on your first nomination! Your England story has been a breath of fresh air here, and really does add some serious competition to the Story of the Month nominees. What I really enjoy most about this story is the technique used to display each post; the use of bbcodes is sublime. You have shown us all that you have story-writing talent in you, and that you have plenty more potential in you. Perhaps one day you can join the greats that are joannes3000, or.dabool, ejay and Neal :)

Honestly, I've never found a more difficult selection to make. Who do I vote for? Do I vote for one of Neal's stories; stories that inspire me with their consistency? Do I vote for Nick's story; one which has gone too long without a Story of the Month award? Do I vote for Josh's story; one which has lit up the site recently and has so much potential? Because of this dilemma, I shall not vote this month. The choice is too hard. Good luck to all nominated :)
