TAT It hurt getting it back to within 6 points and leaving it too late, wanna see the Champions LEague final now?

Real Sociedad Live The Dream

Champions League Final
Estadio da Luz

At the beginning of the Champions League stages Real Sociedad could have been found at 125/1 to win the Champions League and now they were lining up against Manchester United in the final in Portugal. Surely they could not do the unthinkable and win it all?

It was a warm summers evening at Estadio da Luz, Sociedad's Xabi Prieto lived the dream of many a supporter as he lifted the Champions League trophy after United succombed to a 3-1 defeat.

Winger Carlos Vela, previously of Arsenal gave Sociedad the lead with a shot that owed an assist to the woodwork in the 42nd minute. Midfielder Esteban Granero doubled the lead with a deftly executed finish from long range on the 48th minute.

When Buttner gave away a penalty, Prieto confidently made it 3-0 from the spot. United captain Robin Van Persie pulled one back for The Reds on the 86th minute but any hopes of a comeback were short-lived when Buttner was right dismissed for a foul challenge.

Fans of Real Sociedad sang Juade Romos' name as the former Spurs boss experienced the sweet taste of Champions League success by lifting the cup.

Sociedad celebrate winning Champions League

One fan spoke for everyone when he stated that this achievement was symbolic of the great work there manager had done with the team.

After the match United looked devastated but Brendan Rodgers took his hat off the the Spanish side and there work ethic.

Buttner after being sent off

They just wanted it more dint they? There effort from first whistle to the last whistle was 110% and we were just beaten by the best side. Buttner deserved his red card, I don't think he will argue that and we will just come back next year.
Unlucky loss but god damn some great content in this story!

Good work on this story, just finished reading the first season. Surprised Everton finished first after you poached so many of their good players. Steve Naismith is one of my favourite players and always try to get him for my squad if he is available.

So close finishing 2nd then losing in Champions League! Not a bad first season but will it be enough for Man Utd standards? At least it gives you something to work toward next season if Rodgers continues on with Man Utd.

Josh Thanks dude it means a lot and there are a lot more to come.

Arch Mon Yeah it is just acceptable, i was only expected to challenge for the title and to get to the semi final of the champions league so I would say its a successful season, but the clear out is going to start

Three Managers Fired As Season Ends

Three managers have faced the ultimate penalty for not performing the way they should have this season.

Houghton, Mel and Klinsmann all got the bullet for apparent underachieving

Pepe Mel is the first to be fired by West Brom. They were out of the relegation zone all season but then on the last day of the season played 18th place Sunderland who perfomed the great escape and won 4-0 to send West Brom back into the Championship. It is the bookies opinion that Harry Redknapp is the favourite for the job along with Nick Barmby.

Pepe Mel is the favourite to take the Norwich City job as there chairman fired Chris Houghton today. Norwich who finished rock bottom on 29 points will now look for a new way to do things and Pepe Mel seems to fit the bill for them.

The last manager to be fired is Jurgern Klinsmann from Liverpool. this for me is a strange one! Klinsmann guided Liverpool to seventh place but was only 4 points off third spot. Favourite for the job is Gus Hiddink and there is no one else really being considered. We think this sacking was a little bit harsh though.

Barkley: United Will Not Sign Me Yet

Ross Barkley was speaking as he put pen to paper on a £38,500 per week contract for the next 4 years and stated that this could be his four years at Everton because he may well be ready to step up afterwards.

We won the title, so why would I consider leaving at the moment? When a club like Man Utd say they are interested it is obviously a big deal and they are the second best team this season but I want to see what happens with Everton first. We have the Champions League to contend with next season now but we are ready. I feel we may not be able to win the title again next season but no one gave us a chance this season. I think my manager Roberto is the best there is at the moment and I can not wait to see who I will be playing alongside next season. This will most probably be my last 4 years here though as I will be ready for a new challenge at the end of this contract, most probably abroad but we will wait and see.

That will come as a bitter blow to Brendan Rodgers who thought he could still entice the young midfielder but now it looks like he will have to either look somewhere else or stick with what he has, only time will tell.

Meanwhile at United, there is some shocking news as the summer clear-out that Rodgers promised is about to start with players transfer listed. These include Juan Mata, Chris Smalling and Danny Welbeck.

Mata is a wanted man

Mata is wanted by PSG and Real Madrid although it remains to be seen how much each club will want to spend on the player. PSG, who lost out on the French title this season to Monaco quite convincingly are rumoured to be willing to match the £39m valuation on the attacking midfielders head.

Could Smalling be moving to Everton?

Chris Smalling has not been given a run in the team by Rodgers, so it looks like Everton are going to swoop for the defender along with there former player Fellaini. It would cost the club in excess of £15m for both players but they are willing to match that as they look to build for their title defence next season.

Kagawa is being shown the door at Old Trafford

Shinji Kagawa is wanted by A.C Milan and it looks like he will move in the near future for a fee believed to be £7m. Along with the Japanese internation Antonio Candreva looks to be moving to Italy to play for A.C Milan too. This would be in a deal worth £8m which would be a huge loss for the Manchester club.

United Announce Two Pre Season Tours

Air Asia are going to be flying United to Two Tours

Manchester United Football Club today can announce two tours for Pre Season. The whole first team squad minus the players on the transfer list will be going to Canada for two warm up matches and 4 matches in Holland.

Manchester United are growing a lot in Canada and this mini tour will signal the start of more tours in the future. We will first go and play Fernwood United FC in Victoria, there stadium is basic but we want to help the teams that are not as fortunate as us so all the proceeds will go directly to them and the other side we have picked to play in Canada is The Serbian White Eagles who play in Toronto in Lamport Stadium, situated to the west side of Toronto.

We hope this will increase our stature in Canada aswell as helping the clubs become better clubs.

The tour in Holland will see four matches. We are very popular in Holland and have Buttner and Van Persie on our books. We will play Roda, Vitesse and Zwole over a two week period aswell as allowing the players to have some well earned down time.

Please get in touch with us if you would like to travel on these tours as Thomas Cook will do you a deal to get you there and to one of the games but htey have limited availability for the Canada trip so you need to get in there fast.

Wenger Fired!

Wenger has been fired!

After a really bad season, not the first they have had under Arsene Wenger, he has amazingly been fired today. The club who finished 5th in the league, therefore missing out on the Champions League had decided that a new approach was necessary.

The Arsenal board though were quick to pay tribute to their long serving manager, declaring that it was a sad day and they were upset it had come to this but they should look back on the good things that he had done for the club. He will go down as one of the clubs most faithful and loyal servants. He enjoyed great success at Arsenal, lifting three Premier League titles and winning eight cup competitions. Arsenal finished 5th this season and had a three match unbeaten run but it was not enough to save the Frenchman.

Is Andre going to The Emirates?

According to the Bookies, Schalke manaer Andre Villas-Boas is the person Arsenal might look to appoint should they be allowed the approach. Villas-Boas joins a list of four which is said to include Wolfsburg Frank de Boar, Malaga's Bernd Schuster and unnattached Marcelo Bielsa.

Villas-Boas had this to say about the possibility. Arsenal are a fantastic club but whether I could work there after managing Spurs I have no idea! I am happy at Schalke but I am yet to sign my contract expansion so anything could happen.
Great story jason! Unlucky not to win title, with those great signings. Next season though! You'll have more cash to splash on more great signings. Also, Wenger leaving is amazing, he has never left on all the saves I've done.
xxsoulcraftxx Thanks, and yeah next season we are gonna launch a full scale attack
Damn Sociedad unlucky man. Next year it is yours!!!
Dellman thanks man. It is what you call a freak victory in my view
What a season for Real Sociedad...it's not the best result, but just playing in CL final is a great performance!
