Rodgers: They Had To Be Sold

Fallaini's stint at United lasted one painful season

In a move that will be scrutinized for probably the whole season Brendan Rodgers speaks out at why he has sold Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini for a combined fee of £29m.

Mata was no longer wanted by rodgers and leaves for old club Chelsea

I actually wanted to keep hold of Juan, but he made it perfectly clear he wanted out. We have such a talented squad of players, that we do not want the harmony broken by one of two whinging players who think they are more important than Manchester United itself so I have sold him back to Chelsea for a small loss of £19m. This is not a huge loss and nothing like the loss we have made on Fallaini. Marouane is a player who had so much promise but has failed to deliver so he has been sold to Everton for just £10m. I believe in the long run that people will see this has been the complete right decision.

United Send Youngsters On Loan

Januzaj has landed a big loan move to France

Manchester United also can announce that five of our brightest young talents are going on loan to gain valuable playing time. First out is very highly rated attacking midfielder Adnan Januzaj. He has moved to PSG on a season's loan and manager Laurent Blanc thinks a season with promising wonder-kid could bring his side bridge the gap that Monaco has had last season. This is a good deal for Manchester United and for PSG. In Adnan, we have a player who wants to make it at United but needs to show there manager he can cut it on the biggest stage. If he can then he will help us win the title and also help himself for next season.

Gould to get Premiership action this season

Promising Scottish midfielder Ryan Gould will get Premier League experiance this season with Swansea. The midfielder, a £11.75m signing will go to the Welsh club as a first choice in the terms of his loan and Brendan Rodgers thinks this will help the youngster. Ryan has a fantastic attitude and this move is going to help both United and himself. If Ryan has a good period on loan he will come back after one season and slot into the team I am planning, if it is necessary we will look to loan him for a second season, but his long term future is here at Old Trafford.

Young Croatian Allen Halilovic is also going out on loan

Young Croatian midfielder Allen Halilovic has moved to Holland to play for Fayenoord in the Eredivisie. He needs the first team exposure and when he returns, it will be as a better player. Allen was excited at the opportunity.

I am very happy to be going to Holland for a season. My long term future is in England with Manchester United but for now I need to go and get some first team football. I expect after this season to be ready for a go at getting into the starting.

The other player going out on loan so far is the £3.7m signing from PSV Zakaria Bakkali to Lille in France.

The future is definitely bright for Manchester United.
Mata it's a very good player...will you bring someone to replace them?

AAN I presigned Kevin Mirallas earlier in the season so he will be the replacement

Mourinho: Hands Off Lukaku Rodgers!

Lukaku is staying put!

Chelsea announced today that they have rejected a very large offer from Manchester United for there player, Romelu Lukaku. Lukaku, 21 has been a reported target for Brendan Rodgers since Christmas but Jose Mourinho is having none of it and told a packed press room all the details except the amount that was bid, he only said it was 'silly money'.

Yes, I can confirm we have had a bid from Manchester United for Romelu Lukaku which we have rejected and told United to go and look elsewhere. Why would we sell a player who won the European Golden Boy Award last season. This season he is going to be our lynchpin and the guy that will fire us to the Premier League title just like he did with Everton last season.

Di Santo is a shock target for United

This will come as a huge blow for Rodgers, who has already missed out on Everton Starlet Ross Barkley and now his number 2 target Lukaku. It is understood that he could turn to Gladbach striker Max Kruse or possibly ex wigan striker Franco Di Santo. Kruse would be the obviously choice though he has hit 18 goals last term and would fit the work ethos of Rodgers. The shock though could be the 23 goal man Franco Di Santo. Di Santo, who is 25 had an amazing season last season for Wolfsburg and would be the cheaper option. It could be possible and the former Wigan man hopes so too.

I am delighted to be linked with the club. They are still the biggest club in the world and if they make me an offer I will give it some serious thought.

Giggs Signs New Contract

Giggs signs a TWO year contract extension

You would be excused if you thought Ryan Giggs would have had enough by now but you would be wrong. Today he put pen to paper on a new 2 year playing contract worth £35,000 a week and it will see him also coach the United under 18's.

You do not know how happy I am at United, I would never play for anyone else. this deal is good because I don't care if Brendan uses me or not. If he does I will give 100% as usual but United have so many very good younger players I will be happy to just observe, help and pass my wisdom onto them.

Brendan Rodgers was also chuffed his old man had signed for 2 years. Usually it would only be a 1 year contract but this is Ryan Giggs, the man is a legend and if he can play until he is 42 then why not be for us when we need a old head to slow games down?

Di Santo Move Off?

In other news Franco Di Santo's move to Manchester United in on a knife edge as the player is not backing down from wanting £97,000 a week. and Rodgers was unimpressed by the striker so far. He is asking for way too much money andif he wants to sign for Manchester United in a £15m move then he needs to be more realistic on his wages.

The Awards

Ginter Wins The Player Of The Year Award

It is that time of the year where we find out who got the coveted Manchester United Player Of the season award and find out who was voted into the first 11 of the year.

There looked like two people in the hunt for the Player Of The Year title. Steven Naismith had hit 24 goals all season and was a revelation under Rodgers and is very happy to have been nominated for the award.

Robin Van Persie also got nominated and he had hit 26 goals this season meaning the front two, together hit FIFTY goals.

But the winner was actually a defender. Matthias Ginter has been a regular all season since his £12.75m move from Gladbach and was honoured by the fans. I am so happy to have got this award, I think that Steven or Robin deserved it aswell but thank you to the fans and my manager for having the faith in me. We got second this season but next season we are going for the big one.

Team Of The Year

The back five are always going to be obvious. De Gea did not miss one Premier League game and deserves his spot. Player of the year Ginter is in central defence with Stones and Buttner and Clyne are going to be on the wings for years to come. Naismith is installed next to Sandro which means that Frenchman Morgan Schniederlin and Tom Cleverly miss out but deserve a mention. United fans have made a point by selecting Juan Mata in the side which is a shock but I am sure they will do better without the moaning Chelsea player next season. Yarmolenko's hard work has him in the right attacking midfield spot. New signing Wilfried Bony is alongside Van Persie.

United Fixtures Announced

Manchester United will kick off the 2014/15 season with a trip to Stoke City on Saturday 16th of August. United's first home match will be a big one against Rodgers old club Liverpool are are under Guus Hiddinks management now following the sacking of Klinsmann on the 23rd of August.

The Red Devils' home game against defending champions Everton takes place on Saturday 8th November with the return match at Goodison Park on Saturday 28th Fabruary.

Meanwhile the traditional boxing day fixture sees Man Utd travel to The Circle to take on Hull City and they wrap up the season away to West Ham on Sunday May the 17th.

Man City are favourites for the title with Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton and Liverpool all there close in the betting too.

Rodgers Signs Spurs Central Defender

With Chris Smalling and Phil Jones seemingly on there way out of the club, Brendan Rodgers swooped for Spurs' 24 year old Central Defender Vlad Chiriches. The Central defender is well known by fans across Europe. He made his Romania debut against minnows San Marino in august 2011, he has gone on to make 28 appearances for his country.

Chiriches began his career at FC Ardealul Cluj Napoca in 2005/06 but failed to make a league appearance during his two years at the club. Chiriches joined Benfica in 2007/08 but failed to make a league appearance for that club too.

Chiriches' spell at Benfice did not last long and in 2008/09 he joined International Curtea de Argos, making 41 appearances and scoring one goal in two years at the club. In July 2010 he joined CS Pandurii Lignitul Jiu for £170,000 and made 39 appearances.

In January 2012 he joined Steaua Bucharest for £1.1m and made 40 appearances while scoring one goal. During his time with Ros-albastrii, Chiriches' team lifted there Romanian Premier Division title in 2013 and won the Romanian cup in the same year. That landed his an £8.5m move to Spurs wher ehe spent one season playing 23 times before landing the move to Man Utd.

Vlad was looking forward to playing for the Red Devils. When a club as good as Manchester United comes in for you, you have to listen. I am going to have to try and dislodge John and Matthias but I know I will get a chance at some point. I want to say thank you to the management at Spurs and that I hope to go back there one day.
Mate, I am from Romania and I don't like him at all...my personal opinion is that he is huge overrated! Anyway, I hope he performs well for you!
AAN Awwwww well I hope he does to :)

btw people it says chat is full, is it just me?

United Bid For Two Players

Its Barcelona or Man Utd for the Young Keeper from Gladbach

Brendan Rodgers today had one bid accepted for a Goalkeeper and another bid stalled. The first player is a German goalkeeper called Marc Ter Stegen and United have had a bargain £9.75m bid accepted but face tough competition with Barcelona. Ter Stegen, 22 kept 11 clean sheets for Gladbach last season and only conceded 33 goals. He would be proper competition for David De Gea and we coy on who he would move to.

I am going to have two offers on the table from two world class side, both of whom are in the UEFA Champions League. It is not about money for me but it is about who can give me the best platform to play for Germany.

Brendan Rodgers will want to make sure he lands this signing as he has missed out on 3 main targets already this summer in Paulinho for Tottenham, Ross Barkley from Everton and Luke Shaw from Southampton.

How long until Lacazette becomes a Red Devil?

The other bid that has been made is for Lyon's 23 year old striker Axexandre Lacazette, this however includes a one season loan back clause to the French side. They have stalled on the £18m bid but we are widely expecting it to be accepted. This guy has the potential to be world class but we will just have to wait and see.
Ter Stegen and Lacazette would be great signings, but what will happen to De Gea if Stegen joins? Who will be the first choice keeper?

Shiniji Kawaga Is Latest Out The Door

Japanese starlet Shiniji Kagawa has hit out at Brendan Rodgers on the day he left Manchester United. The Japanese winger sealed a cut price £17m move to Atletico and looked visibly delighted to be getting out of Manchester.

The midfielder was Manchester United's most selling shirt last season and it is rumoured that shirt sales, especially in the far east will take a hit now he has gone.

I was not at all happy with Mr. Moyes or Mr. Rodgers and when I found out that I was surplus to requirements it was only going to be a side in Spain or Italy that I would move to. I now need to focus on the future and I will look back on my time here with great comfort that I was the best I could be.

Another Target Failiure

Rodger has let Marc Ter Stegen slip through his fingers

In other news, Brendan Rodgers is ruing a missed opportunity again as Marc Ter Stegen has chosen to join Barcelona ahead of Manchester United. In a interview at the unveiling of the Goalkeeper he had this to say.

It was never a hard decision. Manchester United and there management team just did not express enough of a urge to want me. They were late to contract negotiations and Barcelona made me there number 1 priority from the moment I landed in spain to the moment I left spain.

This is now the forth target that Rodgers has missed out on although there is a rumour that Brendan Rodger will now turn his attention to Christian Eriksen and he might even use Danny Welbeck as bait in the deal.
