Good month. Doing well in the league too.
Nice Update and good luck, Walt.

Also, I have renounced my supporting of Braga B and am now an honorary Trofense follower.

November: Making It Ours

Oriental were determined to build on their recent form

November Results

Win, win, win, win! We accumulated maximum points from November much to my delight and also the players and fans alike. We went ahead versus Trofense before being pegged back, but two goals late on gave us another important win.

Varzim were flying. The newly promoted side were performing above all expectations in their first season and we knew that they weren't just any push-over. This match again showed our mental grit. Sergio Liparoti was not having a great game, so I exchanged his place up front for veteran Balack, and boy did it pay dividends. Late in the 93rd minute the Cape Verdean struck home Omoigui's cut back to give us a last gasp win.

A somewhat fallen giant, Boavista had been promoted from the third division to try and take the next step back to the promised land of the Primeira Liga. We went ahead but they pegged us back. However we showed that fighting spirit to fight back from any score, and we ended up winning by a clear two goal margin.

The fixture cycle begun again and it was Braga B who we met again. Argentine striker Sergio Liparoti stole the show and scored a hat trick. This was always going to be an easy game considering the opponents were in dead last place and we were the polar opposite in first.

This run of goalscoring form continued at home, as we put another three past U.D Lieria. It was another thorough display and kept our momentum going. After going down early we pegged them back on the fringe of half time, a very important goal. After Rafael Copetti put one into his own net, it was up to us to make yet another comeback.

Sergio Liparoti's exquisite volley from Franchi's corner drew us level before Balack put us in front with seven minutes remaining! We defended with all our remaining energy and grabbed what proved to be a very pivotal three points in the title race!

November Table

One point clear, yet with a game in hand. If we take our chances we'll win. It's now our position to lose so the boys know that. We've got to make the most of the game in hand which is coming around in a month or two, and if we can create a clear gap between first and second, we should take promotion in our stride.

November Player of the Month

He's in top form, Liparoti. Always looking for space to find a goal, he just seems to have that touch about him that turns everything into a goal. His three goals at Braga B were all class - including a 25 yard curling free kick.
25 YARDS?! #DonLiparoti
Damn! Amazing month Walt! :DD

December: Merry Christmas

The 'Carlos Salema' gears up for another month of football

December Results

November treated us very well, and so did December. Arguably a step up from last month's competition, we faced reputable teams such as Rio Ave and Portimonense. The month's fixtures began at home, as we welcomed the former to the our fortress. A team in form, we did well to subdue their attack and come away with a point.

We then made the journey to Portimão to face a laregly out of form Portimonense side, languishing in 14th. That helped us as we managed to get a good 2-1 win from a tricky away journey.

Our next game was our game in hand, versus Ac. Viseu in Lisbon. Iago's strike just before half time was enough to seal the deal, and we took home another comfortable three points. Tondela, despite being quite a lowly team, proved to always be difficult opposition. Yet we got the better of them once again and kept our unbeaten streak well and truly alive.

Penafiel are the league's team of mid table obscurity. Never actually going to go down, but never looking like earning promotion either. Last time around we made a sensational comeback, this time it was not the same, as we were held to a draw - two points lost.

December Table

We took advantage of the game in hand and thanks to some blips from teams around us we now sit 5 points clear of second placed Moreirense, who are themselves a further six points ahead of third, meaning we are 12 points clear of any promotion challenger - quite the safety blanket.

The Month Ahead

And guess who we face first? Yep, our biggest title rivals. A blockbuster clash that could define each team's season! Prior to that, we've got it pretty easy. Farense should be the only test, but other than that I can see about 9 points from that month.
What a great run of form there mate, you're going places!
Steamrolling the league, well done!
Naveed, Neal Thanks guys, we just can't afford to slip up now! Thanks for reading, both of you :)
Another great month, promotion is surely a must!
