Journal Entry #3
July 14,2015

Damn it feels so good to win again. Well I have not gotten any job offers yet but I am totally fine with that. Maybe a year or more with this club would be great. If I can't get a job in the ASB Premiership, I might start looking for a job in another country. I want the OFC Champions League but if i can't make it in the next few years I will come back in the future.

During the last few weeks I went back home to Chicago for the first time in over a year. It was weird going back as I have been grown accustom to life in Oceania. Seeing my parents was the best thing especially being able to sleep in my own bed once more. Seeing my friends was another great thing that happened while at home.

On June 20th we went to see our hometown club Chicago Fire play Sporting Kansas City. It was fun watching MLS once again but holy shit Chicago sucks and Teitur Thordarson needs to be fired. I bet I could out coach him easily. Remember I am now a member of the OFC Roll of Honour!! Well that was great hanging out with old friends.

During this time I also made our first signing of the new season. He might not be the best but I have faith in his abilities. We had purchased 19 year old George Shepherd from North Wellington. Last season he made 14 appearances for them. Now I am till scouting players to see who will help us repeat next season.

That's all for now. Hopefully this new season will be just as good as last year.

The Wests Prepare for Upcoming Campaign

Whitby- With a few weeks to go before Evan Clausen's squad returns to training camp for the 2015/15 Central Region Premier League season we would like to officially make the announcement for the seasons schedule and what our odds are at repeating as champions.

Before competitive matches begin the Wests will be traviling for all four of their friendlies. They start on 19 August against Wellington Marist and will conclude on 7 September against Victoria University. During this time management is planning on bringing a few players from the youth academy into action.

Following the preseason The First Round of the ASB Chatham Cup First Round will be played. The draw for the match will be on 29 August and the match itself will be played on 12 September. Since joining the club in December Clausen has not managed a cup match during his short time here. The club has won three ASB Chatham Cup's (1935,1971 and 2006) and was runner up twice (1970,2007).

Despite winning the league last season the bookmakers believe we will finish in second with 1-5 odds in winning the championship. Miramar Rangers have the same odds but are slightly favoured. The West start the season off away against Wairarpa United (1 November) and finish up at Upper Hutt (15 May).

As of right now we are the most successful club in this league with four titles. Stay tuned for more information regarding transfers and other club related news.

Nice update Bayern! Good luck for the season ahead!
Great finish to last season! Hopefully you can carry some of that winning form over into this new season! Loving this story. Hope some big clubs come knocking!
Josh Thanks!!

Squirmy I am not ready for the big boys yet but I am at the point where many teams can't afford me now. That's some progress.

Preseason Results and Transfer Window Round Up

The 2015 preseason is finally over and the club looks ready for the upcoming season. It was quite an exciting but exhausting time as the club played all four matches away from home. The senior team went 2-1-1. A pretty respectable group of results. Kang Gun was the player of the preseason with 5 goals.

"I feel we have all the right tools for the season. I would have liked to see no losses but you can't win everything. Everyone is ready for the Chatham Cup and the League," said Evan Clausen during his weekly radio show.

With the end of preseason comes the end of the transfer window. For Clausen it was all about buying youth. The club had no outgoing players and added six new faces. There was a total of $7.75k spent in the transfers.

"I was looking for youth so Western Suburbs can be set for the next few years and not spending much was one of my goals," said Clausen. One Reporter asked why nobody was sold and he responded with. "I decided to keep the squad the same because they all are hard workers and it's hard to recruit as a semi-pro club."

Western Suburbs Win ASB Chatham Cup

http://boxscorenews.com/clients/boxscorenews/8-6-2012-9-27-53-PM-7786767.jpg

Seven matches down and seven matches won. That is how many matches that were played for the Wests and head coach Evan Clausen. The club from Wellington have just captured their fourth cup. This being the first since 2006. With no major blowouts other than Island Bay United in thefirst round the team should be very proud of the hard work.

Player of the tournament Kang Gun (6 Goals) got his club off to a flying start in the 5th minute by scoring a deadly finish. This would not be his only goal as in the second half he would score again. When Western Suburbs set up for a corner Gun looked like he was ready for another goal, after the ball was kicked it landed on his head for another deadly score, this time via header in the 54th. Central United would score their only goal four minutes later.

"It feels good to win another trophy with this club, they are very special and now it's time to focus on league play," /i] said Evan Clausen after the game. Since joining Western Suburbs last December he has now won two trophies with the club.

With the ASB Chatham Cup finished all clubs in New Zealand will be in league play. The season runs from the First of November to Mid May. Western Suburbs are looking to defend their Central Region Premier League Title. Last season they won it on the last day by a single point.

November Recap

The 2015/16 season has started off on an excellent note for Evan Clausen as his squad went 3-1-0 during the first month of league play. After the victory over Central United in the ASB Chatham Cup Final, the Wests were ready for a chance to retain the league title.

Matchday 1 was a match that will be remembered for the high scoring. Despite a draw the Wests looked strong and were pretty much on point. Kang Gun was the savior of the match with two goals. For the rest of November the Senior Team would win each match and out score the opposition 15 to 6. Kang Gun is leading the league in goals scored with 10. In the match against Wellington United he scored 4 goals.

"I feel bad for the teams in the league, we will win the league super early this year."- Evan Clausen

December will be once again a short month with two matches. The wests will face Petone for the last home match of the year on 13 December. The final match of 2015 will be played at Wellington Olympic on 20 December.

We would like to thank all sponsors and fans for a wonderful 2015. We hope you all continue supporting Western Suburbs Soccer Club in 2016.
