Great stuff!
7th Round
Hoogstraten were our next opponents in the Cofidis Cup and with odds at $12.00 they werent expected to provide much of a challenge but of course odds dont win matches and Hoogstraten made our team work for the victory
The first 20 minutes saw Anderlecht dominate play with slow possession based football in a bid to get control of the match and not let the minnows have a sniff at a chance and after half an hour Anderlecht would take the lead after former club captain Olivier Deschacht headed home from a Nabil Jaadi corner, soon after though Anderlecht were reduced to 10 men when Gillet was shown two yellow cards in a space of two minutes leave the Belgian champions work to do despite being up.
As the second half kicked off Hoogstraten took the initiative and fired off a warning shot at Jasper Cillessen just to let him know they are still in with a shout and in the 63rd minute Hoogstraten would equalize when Glenn Claes capitalised on mis-communication in the Anderlecht defence to put the ball into the empty net as Kouyate tried a header back to the keeper which left Cillessen in no mans land, But just as the away fans thought an upset was on David Villa latched onto a deep free kick from Abrashi to volley home an unstoppable effort which left Davy Roef rooted to the spot wondering what just happened.
Anderlecht would hold onto the win and book themselves a place in the next round

Quarter Final Draw
Anderlecht have drawn Standard Liege in the next round of the Cofidis cup which is surely going to be a fiery encounter with no love lost between players and managers over past matches. Anderlecht will go into the match as slight favourites because of Lieges poor league form this season, in the other matches Club Brugge face second division side Tubize and Lokeren play Westerlo. weve already had one match played this round with AA Gent and OH Leuven playing out a 1-1 draw in the first leg
