Well done on winning the CWC, you beat Santos, big achievement ;)

While it isn't the hardest tournament, it is still another trophy, so congrats :P Plus, it sounds good, so that's all that matters.
The Club World Cup highlights your Liverpool dominance :) Well done!

January - Wembley Awaits..

Liverpool ended the last month with a big win against Middlesbrough in the Capital One Cup. The 3-1 win, which was ensured by Suso, and Coutinho sent the Red's into the Semi Final's where they would be facing West Bromwhich Albion, in a two legged fixture they will be looking to book a place at Wembley in.

They would make a switch from the Capital One Cup, to the FA Cup. Liverpool would be playing underdogs Brighton & Hove Albion. This game was held at Anfield, and like we see so often, a very early goal trotted past the Brighton goal line, after Steven Gerrard's corner deflected off of Adam Chiksen to give the Scouser's a 1-0 lead through the own goal.

Liverpool's defenders started to show their fellow attacking teammates how it was done. Later in the second half we saw two goals in four minutes. Both from corners, both from centre backs. Mamadou Sakho leaped toward the near post as the low cross came in, and the French defender stabbed it in to double the lead.
Neven Subotic grabbed a third as a high ball came in. He connected well and sent the team through to the next round...Almost certainly.

Brighton pulled a goal back from Ulloa. Buckley put a tidy pass in front of the front man to run onto, he beat the offside trap and coolly finished into the far bottom corner, leaving Reina with no chance. It wasn't enough to give them the motivation they needed, and Mamadou Sakho scored for the second time from a corner which proved Liverpool's dominance. Onto the next round.

It was time for one of the biggest games of the month. The Capital One Cup Semi Final. The winner of this two legged fixture would see either Stoke, or Everton in the Final. Imagine a Merseyside derby in the final...Not had one of those for a while.

West Brom got the game underway, and were surprisingly dominant to start with. A few quick attacks from the Baggies shook Liverpool and it took a couple of last ditch tackles, and a few blocks to keep them at bay.

West Brom managed to nick a goal just before the half time whistle. It was actually from the set piece that Chris Brunt took the lead from. A perfect strike from the dead ball went right over the wall and dipped right at the last minute to hit the top right corner.
Alike Ronaldo's vs Portsmouth.

Insigne dragged the game back level when he was gifted a great opportunity by Suarez. The clinical left winger has scored so many from the same position this season and it was absolutely no surprise when he placed this one into the far corner.

The Baggies won it late, with a terrific team goal which came through James Morrison. They are rightful underdogs in this tie, but they stole the win here after a ten consecutive passes found their way through the Liverpool backline and into Morrison who was left in same position as Insigne. He tucked the ball away neatly, and gave his team the advantage for the second leg.

Fabio Borini was back on the score sheet in this next game at home to Norwich City. The lad's took advantage of being in their fortress and the Italian bagged two great goals to bring home three points for Liverpool.

You could say the striker is closing in on the top goal scorer, Diego Costa who has a total of 20 goals so far this season for Chelsea, yet Borini has Eight. However the recent halt in Costa's goal flurry has let Borini and the rest of the Premier League strikers catch up with him. Yarmolenko is in second spit with 14 goals for Spurs. Angelo Henriquez has 11 for Newcastle in third, and Borini in fourth place, with 8.

The Italian was back in the next game with an even better performance away at Arsenal. Borini scored a penalty in the first minute in the game. The pen was conceded by Arsenal's Fabio Coentrao.

He doubled Liverpool's lead when he stretched out far to reach a spectacular curling cross from Markovic. He just managed to reach the ball, and direct it past Szczesny.

Oxlade Chamberlain managed to bring his side back into the game with a lovely curled shot from the outside of the box. The right winger was laid off by his counterpart, Pedro, and he dropped his shoulder to help the ball curve around Reina and into the top corner.

The game was drawing to a close, but Liverpool still found enough time to squeeze another goal in, once again from the penalty spot. On a hattrick it was obvious who would take the penalty. Yes, Borini stepped up and finished brilliantly giving his team three points, and himself three extra goals.

Liverpool were again brought to their knees by hugely underachieving side Manchester City. The Citizens managed to secure a memorable double over the Reds in this encounter at Anfield.
Like the last game at the Etihad, Alvaro Negredo haunted Gerrard's Liverpool team and scored in the 60th minute to narrowly secure a win.

Sandro, was sent off ten minutes before the end, and we suddenly witnessed Liverpool become even stronger than they already were, but they didn't do enough to win the three points they deserved. Or the one point they definitely deserved. Top marks to City's defenders for staying so solid.

West Brom would be readying themselves for a visit to Anfield in the second leg of this already quite entertaining two legged Capital One Cup semi final tie. Not many have survived here. In fact, no team considered 'small' or at least smaller than Liverpool have managed to withheld the wrath of Liverpool's attack.

Liverpool showed them why too. Gerrard's side is not one to be messed with and it seems when West brom messed with their chances of success they let themselves in for a whole new world of misery as Liverpool's surprisingly weakened side scored the opener through 17 year old Jordan Rossiter. A first for the Scouser.

Brazilian, Ewandro showed yet another ounce of class as he was given another chance to prove himself to Gerrard. The youngen scored from outside the box, an shot with the outside of his foot bulged the net and put Liverpool in the lead on aggregate.

The second half was anything but different. Liverpool were definitely not to be messed with, and they scored a third through Lallana, in the 52nd minute of the game. His placed shot from a few yards out put Liverpool 4-2 up on aggregate.

The Baggies were finished off by Emre Can. Like Ewandro has not had a chance. In fact he has had much less of a chance to prove himself to Gerrard and Rodgers. Maybe after this performance, he will get that opportunity he craves so much.

Back to the FA cup, this Liverpool side would play out a win against West ham. Raheem Sterling scored early, to see his side in front but Gareth Barry scored his penalty which was gifted to him in the second half by Nicola Murru.

Daniel Sturridge, one more player who hasn't had his chance. The forward is a fan favorite but has been left out by manager Steven Gerrard in nearly every single game this season. He proved himself by getting the late winner against the London club, and may have booked a place in Gerrard's starting lineup in the near future.

The month was ended on a high, away to Aston Villa. The same as the last game really. Liverpool struck early, Coutinho scoring our first goal with in ten minutes of the game. Aston Villa drew level very late in the second half with a goal from Geoff Cameron.

He was back to save the day though, Daniel Sturridge again scored Liverpool's late winner in this game, three minutes before time which enabled Liverpool to go to 52 points, with a game in hand on second placed Chelsea.

Gerrard's view

Gerrard: An all round fantastic month. To start with, a great win against Brighton which saw us into the next round of the FA Cup against West ham which we went on to win and progress to the next round. we have Everton in the next round so that'll be really fun. I can't wait for that!

Against City, we were unlucky. Very unlucky in fact. We were all over them all game, they got lucky late on. We grew stronger after the second half but Joe Hart was in tip top form. Nine points from a possible twelve is good, expecially having Arsenal and City in those four games we played.

A place in the Capital One Cup Final too, against Stoke. Let's hope that'll be a memorable day for the team, the club and the fans.
Like the graphics and great update!

Gerrard To Test Youngsters

Daniel Sturridge, Ewandro, Jordan Rossiter...Just a few of the many players who have been left out in many of Liverpool's games. Emre Can, another player that is looking to break into the first team.

These few players, all possess that something special. There is no doubt that Ewandro and Sturridge can score goals. There is also no doubt that Rossiter even at a young age can score, assist, and defend. Emre Can is just as talented if not more talented than the 17 year old.

In the last few weeks, everyone of these players have been starting, and everyone of them have impressed not just their fans and fellow teammates, but also the manager that kept them out of the team for so long. At 17 years old, Jordan Rossiter can now say he has scored his first goal for Liverpool. In the Capital One Cup Semi Finals.

Emre Can scored in the same game, and Sturridge just recently popped up with two late late goals to win six points for his side. Being a fan favorite, you wouldn't expect the striker to be out of the team so much, but it looks as though he has won his place back in the starting lineup.

Ewandro however, is the only player to have showed his class throughout the entirety of this season so far. He has been given many chances and scored in every game he has played in. He even scored the winner against Spurs in the Super Cup. It's a surprise that he has been out of the side, but I guess when you've got Suarez and Borini in the form of their lives, it's going to be insanely hard to win a place in the first 11, but it looks like he might have won it regardless.

Gerrard spoke to BBC Sport this morning and told us that Sturridge, as well as his younger players Rossiter, Can and Ewandro will get more game time in the second half of the season, and will have this half to prove their quality. It's thought that there will be exceptions for Ewandro and Rossiter, because of their age.

Gerrard: "Some players in this squad have not had their fair chance. I am quite happy to admit that. I am well aware of Ewandro's situation, he's scored in many games this season, he won the Super Cup for us late on. But you know, he's 18. He's young, I've spoken to him about this, I just don't want to rush him. Don't get me wrong, he's taken to english football like a duck to water, but it's a case of not over playing him, and hindering his development.

I've not been fair on Sturridge, he's a good friend of mine but it's been hard to fit him in with himself not scoring and Borini and Suarez tearing it up. He knows the score, I will be playing him more, but he has to repay my faith. Same goes for Emre Can.

I'm not sure what this is about Rossiter though. You seem to be making a big deal out of him not playing. He's 17. He's played more than most people his age. He's developing well, he works ever so hard in training and he knows I rate him highly. He also knows and agrees that there are better more experienced players in the squad, who are bound to play ahead of him. Jordan is a good lad, and I am sure someday soon, he will get his big break and he will take it with open arms. That's not this year though. Although, I have told him I want to give him a little more time on the pitch with some of the senior players.
Loved the last two updates mate, so much detail! Haven't really been following this, but I will from now on. Good luck :P

Story of the month

I honestly never thought that I would ever get a nomination for story of the month. I just want to quickly thank everyone who has supported this story, and also my Napoli one as I feel that is starting to improve.

My writing has improved tons since I first joined here a year ago, and that's mostly thanks to the amazing support I get on my stories. It gives me the determination to keep on writing, and improving my writing.

Maybe I'm making a big deal out of it, but for me it feels like a big achievement. If I don't win Story of the month, a nomination is just as good for me, it's given me the motivation to continue improving.

I want to say a special well done to Tallery. He alongside me has gained his first nomination for story of the month, and it looks as though he could win it with just a few more votes, so well done mate!

Well done to everyone else nominated too!

Thank you! :D
Thanks Alan, I was the one that gave you the vote! :)
You're not making a big deal of it, it's a great achievement! Well done man :D
Congratulations on your first ever SotM nomination! It's great to have seen you progress from where you first started story writing here back in August of last year to having a story claim a prestigious nomination to the site's most popular competition. You've put in a great amount of work to improve your writing skills and it's been a thrill to read your adventures. Hopefully this is just the start of a great collection of milestones achieved by you! :)

Huge congratulations, on a fully deserved nomination. I'm so glad to see you have stuck with a story, and the effort you are putting into this is very commendable indeed. I 4-1 am fully enjoying reading every update, and hope you can keep this up for a long time coming. Your writing has improved significantly too, which is always nice to see that someone is progressing, and I do hope you can continue to develop while picking up the recognition for all your efforts :D

Notice

Hey guys! I just wanted to let everyone know that for the next 2-3 days I will not be updating this story. I will continue to update my Napoli story, because i am currently one year ahead of where we are in the story.

With Liverpool save, I am right on the month that I need to be updating (February) and I want to play on with the save for a couple of months, maybe up to the end of the season. This is so I don't have to actually play the game and update at the same time if you get me. If I don't do this it almost feels a little like a chore, I find it easier and much more fun when I am ahead of the story!

cheers! :)
