Champions League Semi Final Draw
Hello everyone and welcome to this years Champions League Semi Final draw, where we will get the first look at who is to play who in the next round of the competition. Four teams remain, three of those being English clubs. Manchester City, Manchester united, and Liverpool. The forth being German side Dortmund who will be looking to gain access into their first Champions League Final since the 2013 final in which they lost to old rivals Bayern Munich.
Before we get down to drawing out the fixtures, we shall quickly recap the previous round of the tournament.
The first game brought probably the biggest shock of the tournament. Manchester City would face Barcelona in a game which held Barcelona as the outstanding favorites. Manchester City had other ideas though, and put on an entertaining show for the fans, whilst also passing through to the next stages by defeating the Spanish giants 5-4 on aggregate. Barcelona lost the first game 5-1 to the two time English champions, and won 3-0 in the next game. Sadly that wasn't enough and they were knocked out.
The second quarter final was all English. Chelsea vs Manchester United. A big rivalry here, a big game for both sets of fans. The first leg ended in a 0-0 draw, but the second leg brought no disappointment as Manchester United won the game 2-1 and brought safe passage to the semis. Youngster nathaniel Chalobah got the decisive goal of the game by scoring a 34th minute own goal, the last goal of the tie which knocked his own team out.
Dortmund and Juventus would also lock horns to attempt at progressing. Dortmund beat the Old Lady 1-0 in the first leg away from home, and sealed a 3-1 win at home as Benteke bagged himself a brace, and Blaszczykowski scored the fourth goal of this tie. Tevez got Juventus' consolation.
At Anfield, as you already know, Liverpool became victorius over Paris Saint-Germain in a 3-1 win, and nearly went out of the competition after the French dominated the Red's in Paris. The Scouser's managed to just get through with Daniel Agger converting two penalties.
So, there is what happened in the last round of the competition, so let's take a look at who got who in the Semi final draw, here it is;
So, huge rivals Manchester City will take on Manchester United at home in the first leg of the competitions semi final rounds, and Liverpool will be hosts to Dortmundin a game which we expect the two sets of fans to create an enormus wave of sound flowing from both Anfield and Signal Iduna Park as they chant the words "You'll Never walk Alone" in both legs of this tie.
Dortmund VS Liverpool | The Report
The Champions League semi finals brought two really exciting games two our screens. Two teams divided by a difference of allegiance, and two more teams connected by their fans' sense of passion, Manchester United would play old rivals Manchester City, and Dortmund would take on Liverpool.
Liverpool, would be fighting for their second Champions League Final in a row. They will be aiming to progress from this stage against Dortmund, to retain their Champions League title in another all English final against either Manchester City, Or Manchester United.
So to start with, we'll obviously start of with the first leg. This game was a tale of two extremely even sides, and complete end to end football from start to finish. The game started with both teams going at each others throats, full throttle. We expected it to be quite a kind game, as these two clubs are quite alike one another but it was far from kind as BVB suffered to injury setbacks in the first half. One of those being Mats Hummels in the 9th minute.
Liverpool scored first, through their European talisman Fabio Borini. A player who has really come along in the last few seasons at Anfield. So, Borini scored the first goal in this game, 32 minutes in with a sweet volley from not too far out. A goal that certainly sent a red sea of fans into an outburst of chants.
Dortmund silenced those chants upon the half time whistle though, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang nestled a cool first time finish into the bottom corner of Reina's net. The Spanish keeper tried everything he could to narrow the opposing wingers angles but nothing was too much of an ask for the Gabonese man, as he leveled the score before the end of the first half.
The same winger that equalized against the reds actually found himself to become Dortmund's second injury of the day, very early on in the second half. Aubameyang lasted all of two minutes, before he was sidelined due to pulling what looked like his hamstring.
Dortmund and Liverpool both came close to going in front later in the game. The first chance was from Dortmund. Countering Liverpool's high tempo attack, Marco Reus ran the ball down the right side of the field before switching the ball from his flank to the other. Blaszczykowski touched down the ball and made his own way forward maneuver his body from left to right in an attempt to fool Serge Aurier which he did fantastically. Having beaten the Ivorian full back, Blaszczykowski whipped a cross in and to Reus' delight, the German was able to nod the ball in direction of the right bottom corner, but the ball agonizingly hit the outside of the post and stopped Dortmund from going in front.
Liverpool's opportunity to go in front wasn't squandered by the post, but by a defender. Jordan Henderson pang a pin point pass 40 yards further a field to Luis Suarez, who of course brought it down as brilliantly as ever. The Uruguayan could almost taste the fear in Dortmund's backline, as he took one on, beating him with skill and drilling a cross into Borini who had the empty net to strike at which he did, but Sokratis Papastathopoulos with not a second to lose was on hand to dive in for the defensive header and heroically stop Borini's almost certain goal.
The game was decided by a last minute goal. Yes one team scored, and won the match. All of these chances didn't go a miss forever and one player delivered when his team needed it the most. Was it Liverpool, or Dortmund who scored?
Well, you could almost guess which player and which team would score the vital. Liverpool, of course won the game in the dying embers of the game and it was that man again, Fabio Borini who was on hand to prod Markovic's cross into Weidenfeller's net.
Taking the advantage of two away goals into the second leg of this tie, Liverpool's main goal for this game would be to simply see the game out as it is. Dortmund would need to win 2-0 at Anfield to progress through to the next round of the competition, but even that looked quite unlikely, especially given the form that the reds are in a home.
Once again, it was anything but a friendly game. Whilst both sets of supporters constantly burst the ear drums of anyone and everyone around them with the words "You'll Never Walk Alone" ringing all around the stadium, the players set to work on each other...Physically, as both sets of teams had numerous bookings for some truly nasty tackles. Dortmund the worse of the two.
As the Dortmund fans watched on in hope that their team could string a surprise victory, Liverpool themselves were looking for more glory in this tie as they set out on keeping the ball and wearing the opponent down, a strategy that is proven to work and one that they have adopted for many years now.
Liverpool's gameplan seamed to be taking it's toll on the BVB players, even in the 40th minute they were all stumbling about the pitch as if they'd been playing for 120 minutes, that's how much they'd been running about the pitch to retain the ball off of Liverpool.
On half time, we would witness another Liverpool goal. This time due to what looked like a careless, tired tackle. Stefan Savic just wasn't capable of keeping up with Lorenzo Insigne and he brought him down in his box before he could go any further.
Stepping up to take the penalty was Fabio Borini. A chance to score three goals in this semi final tie, and ultimately put his club into the Champions league final. By scoring this goal, he would put Dortmund surely beyond reach, and he tucked the ball away coolly and jumped into the stands to celebrate with the fans.
To make matters worse for Borussia Dortmund, Kevin Großkreutz was sent off in the 60th minute due to a horrible tackle on Liverpool's Coutinho. A tackle fully deserving of a straight red card.
Not only the red card, but two minutes later Liverpool scored again, and by the means of an own goal which was scored by Ji Dong-Won. It just wasn't going to be Dortmund's day, they had been well and truly trounced by the Scousers in this two legged affair.
Nonetheless, Liverpool were through to a second straight Champions League final where they would face a tough challenge against Manchester City. The final game of this years Champions League campaign would be held at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, so stay tuned because this will be a cracker!!
great update, and two great results man! Borini's definitely come on leaps and bounds for you; hopefully you can go all the way and win it! good luck
The Premier League - Returning To Anfield
Henderson celebrates with teammates after his goal against Swansea CityMay, 2015. Undoubtedly one of the most important months in the history of Liverpool football club. The outcome of this month will decide whether Liverpool go home with a septuple, or even a sextuple, with the FA Cup Final and Champions League final both to play. Both games being a against Manchester City.
Liverpool, have all but won the league title. it was practically theirs. All they would need from the next game is three points against Watford. A team currently battling around the relegation zone. Not a big test for Liverpool but it seems the nerves were starting to get to the side.
As usual, Liverpool came out in their normal attacking style of play, holding the ball in their possession to tire their opponents. The attack soon got too much for Watford and their defense collapsed from one of Coutinho's corners and Agger scrambled the ball over the line.
Liverpool were in complete control and would have won the game if it wasn't for Reina's mistake ten minutes after Liverpool's goal. Watford's only shot of the game which came from Vydra, from 30 yards out was travelling into the left bottom corner. It looked like Reina had it covered, but he somehow managed to parry it into his own net gifting Watford and equalizer.
The Red's couldn't get back, and so were left without winning the title officially for another week.
Swansea were the next to face up to Liverpool, at Anfield. Three points, and they would be out of reach from United. Just like the Watford game, they scored first but this time through Henderson who curled a twenty yard shot into the bottom right corner.
Eight minutes later, the Scousers were awarded a penalty, and Agger would take it. You wouldn't bet against him missing considering the nine in a row he has already scored, including two in a huge game against PSG. This penalty was of course more important, but this time he struck the ball wide of the left post.
He would be left to regret the miss as well, when Gomis scored an equalizer in the 80th minute due to the Dane's own mistake when he passed a light ball back to Reina which Gomis intercepted then going on to chip it over and around the Spaniard.
Another home game to be played right before the big one against Manchester United at Old Trafford where they could be lifting the Premier League trophy if they fail to get a point here against Southampton.
The Reds were a little lucky in the way that they won the game. Didier Drogba came back to haunt them yet again with an early 9th minute goal which sunk the hearts of many Liverpool fans for a little while longer.
Diego Reyes hadn't scored a single goal for Liverpool leading up to this point, so trust him to come up against Southampton and score possibly the title winning goal in the 45th minute of the game, with his first goal for the club.
With a 1-1 score line, Liverpool would win the league. But, they wanted more and went for it. The next goal came from an unlikely source. No not a Liverpool player, but a Saints player. Santiago Vergini who put the ball into the back of his own net, presumably with his hand. Something the ref didn't see, but the Red's would have been handed a penalty regardless.
Liverpool, had won the league on home turf for the second year running. What an occasion.
Coutinho, Gerrard and Flanagan, celebrate Santiago Vergini's own goal
Winning the league is a big thing for Liverpool, but beating Manchester United on home turf is also certainly a big thing. Another home game, in which they were once again held to a draw by their opponents, picking up just the one point out of the three they'd have been hoping for.
As you can tell, after winning the league and having two HUGE matches to play after, meant the Liverpool would release quite a young squad onto the field. The likes of Jack Dunn, Kristof Polgar, Jordan Lussey and Ryan Gauld all made their first appearances for Liverpool in this game, and managed to help their seniors dominate players such as Romulo, Luke Shaw, and Wayne Rooney.
The best chance of the game came from a free kick, which was taken by Jack Dunn. The attacking midfielder curled one over the wall only to find the underside of the cross bar. Teammate Daniel Sturridge leaped in to poke the ball in but a heroic tackle made by Darren Fletcher kept them out.
The last game of the premier League season would be Liverpool vs Stoke, in a game that Harry Wilson managed to pick up his first appearance for Liverpool. It wasn't the greatest game that's for sure.
Liverpool scored the first goal through Ewandro, which took the brazilian's goal tally up to five in the league and into double figures on ten in total. The celebrations were soon cut short as Mame Diouf scored three minutes after.
Diouf struck a second time putting Stoke into the lead, at the Brittania. His second goal of the game, and it was only another fifteen minutes before Stoke scored again through winger Marko Arnautovic.
It wasn't the greatest day at the office, that's for sure. But despite performing very weak in the last month of the season, all that mattered to the fans was that they retained what is rightfully theirs. The Premier League Title.
Gerrard's view
Gerrard: I've made it abundantly clear that I am not happy with the performances from some of the boys. Yes, we played well, and played a couple of youngsters. I am just annoyed with some specific individuals who were not good enough, and cost us either a goal, or didn't score when we had countless chances.
I can't fault them too much though. We had pretty much won the league and we now know that even without three points...Make that six points. We still would have won the league with City finishing second. But, the job was to see it out to the end which we did. Just. I just think it was some of the players beginning to tire at the end of a long hard season.
They can't stay tired though. Just five days left, and we have the chance to make Manchester City runners up once more. This time in the FA Cup. Another five days later, and we can make them runners up in three competitions. Three big competitions. That's not the main aim though. Our goal is to win the septuple for the fans, not because we want City to come second.
Two more games, two more cups at stake. We can do this!

Questions For Sakho
Sakho, against Swansea, playing one of his trademark over powered passSo, at the end of March we gave you brilliant supporters the chance to ask Jordan Henderson your questions via the use of Twitter, and we promised you the chance to send your questions into our defensive titan, Mamadou Sakho who was sent an incredible 9,000 questions.
Here are just a handful of the Frenchman's answers.
Sakho, in your first season with us you seemed to always be quite nervous on the ball, and unconfident, but in the last two seasons your game has really come along, how have you managed to become as good as you are after let's be honest, a pretty poor season. #AskSakho
Sakho: Coming to a completely new country and having to play right away, for me was a really hard thing to do. I didn't speak the language, I was having to play with people I didn't know and I didn't have much family here so it was always going to be hard. I settled towards the end of the season thanks to the help of Gerrard, and Brendan Rodgers and after Subotic came in to the club we just kind of clicked. My second season at the club, I didn't let anything faze me, I just focused on performing well for the good of the team and the fans, and thankfully, I did. I performed really well and it's helped the side out a lot to some big trophies. This season, I have only become better as I have gained more and more experience. My game is always improving right now.
What's it like to play for Liverpool, after winning the trophies you have it must be an incredible thing to have gone down in history with arguably one of the best Liverpool teams we've ever had! #AskSakho
Sakho: Yes, it is incredible. Everyday you wake up and just can't wait to put the shirt on and perform for the team. You can't wait to get to training and improve your game. Now that I have been here for nearly three years, I have gotten to know everyone and we are all really good friends, there is a real togetherness in the squad and it's really nice to play with the people I do. They're all brilliant footballers as well as people. Honestly, I hope I never leave this club.
Sakho, you're considered probably our best defender in the team a long with Subotic, so you know a lot about keeping the opposition out. How hard will it be to keep City out in the Fa Cup and Champions League? #AskSakho
Sakho: City are a huge club. Two time Premier league winners in recent years, runners up this year. They have a fantastic team, they're best area of the side being the attack. we've beaten them before, we know how we want to handle them. It'll be hard to keep them out in both games, but I am sure we can do it. We too have a great attack, and in my opinion a much better team overall, but anyone can beat anyone, we will be at our best though, I can assure you.
Liverpool now have as many league titles as rivals Manchester United, (20) Is the aim to now retain the title next year and surpass their record? #AskSakho
Sakho: Our aim is to always win trophies. No matter how big or small, a trophy is a trophy. We are really determined to fight off other contenders for the title next year, and yes it would be nice to surpass ours and their record of 20 league titles. That isn't our main incentive though, we're not just focused on beating them, we're focused on beating everyone and doing it for our fans. Although...It would be nice beat them to 21 titles.
What's it like being a footballer? #AskSakho
Sakho: In my own opinion it's the best life a person can have. Admittedly, you get a lot of money for it but let's be honest if people who aren't footballers were, they wouldn't be complaining. So, the money we get helps a lot to make our lives amazing, we can do virtually anything we want, go anywhere we want. I don't like to boast about that type of thing, but it's the truth I won't lie to you. Money isn't everything though, the best thing about being a footballer is being able to turn up to training play with some of your favorite players i.e. Suarez, Reina and then after training or a match, going out for a meal or going out for the rest of the day to chill out with your friends in the team. I really enjoy spending time with the lads, it's nice to have others around you to talk about football with or just talk about anything in general.
Be honest, do you have any sort of hatred towards our rivals? E.g. When United are successful you throw up in your mouth. #AskSakho
Sakho: Haha! Well, I wouldn't say I would throw up in my mouth, but loving Liverpool as much as I do does indeed cause me to have some hatred toward our rivals. Whenever I see them do well, my stomach does churn a bit. Not because it worries me, but because I simply hate to see them do well. Our rivals don't worry me, we are a lot better than them. Haha!
Two big matches coming up, how are you preparing for the last two matches of the season? Possibly the biggest ones. #AskSakho
Sakho: I'm keeping calm, lot's of rest and some light training. I don't want an injury, and I am fully match fit so I don't need to overdo it. I am getting all the carbs inside me and just simply waiting for the game. There's not much you can do to prepare other than rest, keep calm and eat well.
So, those are a small bunch of the questions the big man answered. That's it for player interviews this season, but don't worry, they'll be much more in the following season!
Great interview with the brick shithouse Sakho! (xCammeister95x reference) Good Luck with the last couple matches of the season, and hopefully you'll grab that all important 21st title!
Jason: You...You watch Cammeister O.o? Legend and yeah, let's hope we can seal the septuple, or at least the sextuple! Would be great to beat United to the 21st title as well!!
Fa Cup Final 2015 | Manchester City vs Liverpool
Gary Lineker: Good evening everyone, and welcome to BBC's live coverage of the FA Cup final 2015. This year, the magic of the FA Cup has brought the two biggest teams in England together. The teams going head to head are of course Liverpool and Manchester City...But you already knew that. Joining me tonight, is our co pundits Robbie Savage, and Danny Murphy. Predictions for tonight boys? It's looking very evening on paper.
Savage: Yeah, it's a toughie. I think Liverpool have got this in the bag though. The quality in depth that they have is miles ahead of City. I mean they can sub off A world class player in Insigne and bring on a younger player just as good in Sterling. I think that'll be the difference tonight. It's something City don't really have anymore. Not compared to the Reds anyway.
Murphy: I have to agree. I can't see this trophy going anywhere but Liverpool. I think they have enough about themselves to win the game by a two maybe three goal margin. Complacency will be an issue though, and if they're watching this now I'll warn them now, that despite winning the league City won't be scared of anyone tonight and they will be giving it their all. They'll put up a fight for sure, but if they let complacency get the better of them, they won't have a happy dressing room come 90 minutes...Or even 120.
Lineker: You say you can't see anyone but Liverpool winning this, Danny. Will that be the case for the Champions League final in a few days time?
Murphy: You know what, I think it will be. I think Liverpool will win both games with ease, but only if they keep complacency in the dressing room. I can't stress that enough, it's essential they do that.
Lineker: Ok, well that's it from us. We'll hand you over to Martin Tyler, and his co commentator Clive Tyldesley after we show the lineups.
Liverpool Starting XI: Reina(c), Aurier, Subotic, Sakho, Umtiti, Sterling, Rossiter, Florenzi, Coutinho, Sterling, Ewandro, Sturridge.
SUBS: Mignolet, Sinclair, Henderson, Markovic, Gerrard, Borini, Jose Enrique.
Manchester City XI: Hart, Sagna, Kompany(c), Demichelis, David Alaba, James Milner, Sandro, Alexis Sanches, Aguero, Jesé, Jovetic.
SUBS: Kjetil Haug, Tibor Lippai, Andre Ayew, Guidetti, Richards, Rodwell, Navas.
Tyler: Yes, thank you Gary. And welcome everyone to this highly anticipated FA Cup final between two greats of the beautiful game. Manchester City and Liverpool. Clive, your predictions for tonight?
Tyldesley: I actually think City will win this. Murphy spoke a lot about complacency in the build up and I think that will be a problem for Liverpool tonight. Manchester City to win 1-0.
Tyler: Ok, well. Let's get down to it then. 90 minutes of football to be played until the winner of the prestigious English domestic cup is revealed for the 142nd time. Off we go then! Sturridge and Ewandro have gotten the game underway!
3'- Tyler: Liverpool have been the better side so far. Keeping the ball well. Umtiti has it now. Onto Florenzi in the middle who quickly releases the pass to Subotic. Subotic, back on the left to Umtiti. He'll attempt the long pass...What a ball! Ewandro touches down, Ewandro turns toward goal moves smartly past Kompany, over to Sturridgeeee!! Oh what a miss!
Tyldesley: Oh that's terrible. Absolutely terrible from Sturridge, he's skied that one over bar from a brilliant position. Great chance goes begging. All credit to Umtiti though, it's a beauty of a pass. About 40 yards away Ewandro touches it down perfectly. A brilliant move, good start from Liverpool.
14'- Tyler: Sterling holds the ball on the left. Into Coutinho, great turn to beat his marker! He's in space! Where are the defenders? COUTINHO SHOOTS! OH! It's so close, inches away. Skims the post.
Tyldesley: It was, wasn't it Martin. He's come close their the Brazilian. He might live to regret that opportunity.
19' Tyler: Sandro has the ball on the edge of the box. Flicks it onto Sanchez, one-two with Sandro, SANDRO!! OOOH! What a save from Pepe Reina!! how did he get anywhere near it?
Tyldesley: Aww! That I must say is one of the best saves I have seen this season. In all competitions! Sandro's hit that with so much power, Reina's on the right side of the net and it's going straight into the left top corner. How he even got near that is a mystery to me.
Tyler: Well, it's a corner for Manchester City. First bit of real danger for Liverpool. Milner. Swings it into the front post, JOVETICCCCCC!!!!! MANCHESTER CITY STRIKE FIRST!
Tyldesley: Oh how has that gone in! Haha! I must say it's a great header from the Manchester City striker but from hero to zero from Reina. It's a hard save to make to be fair but after saving Sandro's shot you'd expect that to be caught in his hands.
Tyler: Well, the "underdogs" should we say have put the favorites on the back foot. Great time to do it as well. Right as Liverpool were finding their rhythm.
31'- Tyler: Coutinho with the ball now, the Liverpool fans getting behind their team now. In the middle to Umtiti who has pushed up, Sterling's running into space in the right side of the box, Umtiti with another great ball, FANTASTIC PASS! STERLIINGGGG!! Ohh...Oh dear! How has he missed?
Tyldesley: I have absolutely no idea Martin. That's an unbelievably good chance to level the score. Terrible miss. Hit it right at Hart from only 5 yards out.
45'- Tyler: Well, 45 minutes are up! Manchester City are a goal to the good at half time, Liverpool will be kicking themselves. They have dominated!
45'- Tyler: Well, we're back now for another 45 minutes of football. Possibly more. Clive, did you expect Man City to be in front come the second half?
Tyldesley: I didn't, I thought they'd edge it late. maybe they still will but i though it'd be 0-0 at half time.
55'- Tyler: Liverpool have started the second half rather in the same manner as the first. They're dominating at the moment and Jordan Rossiter has the ball. Drives forward powerfully, quick pass to Sturridge who has his back to goal, Rossiter's running into space, flick into that space by his teammate, ROSSITER!!! Another chance gone begging!
Tyldesley: It's not looking like it's going to be Liverpool's night is it. I think Hart gets a niggle on it with his fingers, we'll see from the replay...Yeah, only just. He's tapped it onto the bar and it's gone over. Danger not over though, corner ball.
Tyler: Florenzi whips the ball in, Sakho goes up for it -
Tyldesley: Fantastic ball...
Tyler: SAKHO! HITS THE BAR!! And cleared by the big man Kompany. The dangers over now. Liverpool are pushing and pushing.
63'- Tyler: Rossiter on the ball. He's been influential tonight, he really has. Only 18 years young would you believe. Already featuring in an FA Cup final.
Tyldesley: He's been the best player on the pitch tonight. Out of both teams. If anyone deserves to score for Liverpool it's him.
Tyler: Rossiter has given it Coutinho. Good skill from the Brazilian there. Gives it out wide to Markovic who has just recently come on for Sturridge. Markovic swings it in from deep. INTO EWANDROOO!! SAVED, EWANDRO AGAAIN!! DOUBLE SAVE! CLEARED!!
Tyldesley: Oh my word. When have we ever seen a performance like this from Joe hart? Or even Liverpool? If they don't score tonight it'll be the first time they have been without a goal in 27 matches.
Tyler: Oh, and guess who stopped them from scoring all those games ago.
Tyldesley: It was Manchester City. Crazy how football works out like that.
69'- Tyler: City might have their first chance of the game now as Ayew has the ball on the right. Switches it to Sanchez! Great ball, Sanchez does well to beat Aurier, bends in a low cross, AGUERO'S THERE!! Inches away.
Tyldesley: That'd have been goodnight Liverpool if that went in. Time for the Red's to pull there socks up now and just get that ball over the line. Whatever it takes, handball it if you have to.
80'- Tyler: Liverpool are pushing more than ever now with Henderson on the ball. He's just swapped with Coutinho. Onto Rossiter. Rossiter shoooots!! Aww!! Another poor effort.
Tyldesley: I'm just gunna call it. Manchester City have won it. I think my 1-0 prediction will stand.
90'- Tyler: Well, we've just got four minutes of added time to play. Can Liverpool work any sort of move. Anything...Anything will do.
90+3'- Tyler: Well, City could break the Red hearts now. Will they plunge the knife into the wound? Aguero. Lifts it over for JOVETIC! Over the bar.
90+4' Tyler: It's now or never for Liverpool now. Enrique... Into Rossiter who's on the edge of the box. Slides it into Aurier who's in space, onto FLOREEEEEEEEEEEEEENZZZZZZZZZZZI!!!! FLORENZI SCORES THE EQUALIZER, WITH THE LAST KICK OFF THE GAME, THE LIVERPOOL FANS HAVE GONE MAD!
Tyldesley: Oh my word...I don't believe this! The Liverpool supporters will be laughing if they go onto win this!
Tyler: Well, it has been coming. Liverpool pulled off one of the greatest FA Cup final comebacks nine years ago, and it looks as though they might just do it again IF they go onto win this game. The last kick of the game has sent us into extra time.
95'- Tyler: Well Manchester City seem to have only just come to the realization of Florenzi's goal. I am sure it's a hard thing to take in, but as they say. Take it on the chin, and pick yourself up.
Aurier on the ball. over the top to Markovic, good ball, quick pass to Rossiter. Great passing play, onto Henderson. Oh, that's a a great interception from Alaba who can attack now, through ball to Jovetic, passes to Aguero with just the keeper to beat! AGUEROOOOO!! 2-1!!
Tyldesley: Hold up a second there Martin...He's offside! Oh my word. Another twist to the game.
Tyler: Well we'll take a look at the replay, was it offside? Oooh, it's debatable. I think maybe he was just a touch offside. Fantastic spot from the linesman.
105'- Tyler: That's the end of the first half of Extra time then. What a game this has been. Clive, as the players take their break. Tell me...Who's going to win it now?
Tyldesley: Well both teams have had their chances. They've not taken them well mind. I think Liverpool have dominated all game really, it's obvious they have. Penalties are a lottery though, just comes down to the nerves in the end. I think Liverpool will win it now, I really do.
115'- Tyler: It's not been the best half an our of football I have ever seen. Not much to show from it other than the offside goal. Here's Subotic though. Forward pass to Jordan Rossiter who's been very good tonight. I must ask Clive, who's your man of the match?
Tyldesley: Well, as you say Rossiter has done really well. But the whole Liverpool team has as well. If I were to pick a player from Manchester City, it'd be Aguero, but no. I think Rossiter deserves this for sure. He's not put a foot wrong really, he's made every pass, he's made a lot of last ditch successful tackles. Yeah, I'm gunna give it Rossiter.
Tyler: Rossiters pass has made it to Sterling on the wing. What a cross from Sterling, Henderson on the edge of the box, touches it down. Leaves it dead for ROSSITER! Oh! Unlucky lad.
Tyldesley: I tell you what, he really wants to score doesn't he? And if he does...Cue those "Next Gerrard" comments from the red fans.
120'- Tyler: Well, it's all over now. It's penalties to come. What a game it's been, right Clive?
Tyldesley: I would go as far as to say it's been one of the most exciting FA Cup finals. The amount of chances teams have had, the last minute goal, the offside goal. It's had everything. Even an 18 year old getting man of the match. It's been a crazy 120 minutes.
Penalties
Tyler: Well, it's down to penalties. anyone can win these, we've seen it so many times. Liverpool have a great record from these, as for Manchester City they don't usually find themselves in this situation. It will be Aquero to take first penalty.
The Argentine is stepping up, and scores. Beautiful penalty.
Tyldesley: Well, this is surprising. Fabio Borini is Liverpool's first taker. Thought it would have been Florenzi in all honesty.
Can he? He can! What a goal. Right into the roof of the net. He always seems to score them, but he always comes so close to missing.
Tyler: Ayew now. Tucks it away! The new Manchester City winger scores in his first cup final for the club, on penalties.
Enrique is going to take the next one now...Really weird selection from Gerrard. Anyway, here he goes then. Enriqueeeee, GOAL. Right down the centre.
Tyldesley: Has Jovetic got what it takes then? -
Tyler: You know what, he's scored already but I think he might just miss...Two steps, and goal! Alright then, maybe he won't, haha!
Henderson to level it. Will heee...He will!! 3-3 on penalties.
Tyldesley: Reina can give Liverpool the advantage now. As Rodwell of all people steps up.
Rodwell! SAVED! Oh great save from Reina! Liverpool advantage then.
Tyler: Sterling has to score now. It's over to him, if he scores, Ewandro just has to score his penalty. And no matter what Milner does next, Liverpool will win the cup.
Sterling...Oh good finish!
Milner's turn then. Remember, even if he scores this goal...Liverpool will win the game if Ewandro scores. Milner...Goal. Good pen.
Tyldesley: Well, has this 19 year old got the nerve? He does look composed. Ewandroooo! HART SAVES! What asave from the English goal keeper!
If Kompany scores now, the two teams will go level at 4-4. Aaaand he does!!
Time for Liverpool centre back Sakho to score now. It's gone down to sudden death. Can he score?
...Oh yes he can. Powerful shot. Lucky not to miss really.
Sandro to make it 5-5 then. Oh my word, he's running up to the ball from the half way line! Is he actually going to take it from this? ...Oh he is...GOAL. Sandro makes it 5-5. A bizarre run up from the central midfielder.
Tyler: Florenzi's turn then. To make it 6-5...Cool as you like!! Brilliantly taken.
Sagna will go up now, he just needs to get it in the back of the net, and it's back over to Hart who will try to make the save. Sagnaaaaa...HE'S MISSED! LIVERPOOL ADVANTAGE.
Oh and would you believe it...It's Jordan Rossiter. Jordan Rossiter to win it, has he got the bottle? Rossiterrr!! GOOOOOOOOOAAAAL!! LIVERPOOL HAVE WON THANKS TO JORDAN ROSSITER!!
Tyldesley: Oh! What a final it's been! And it's the man of the match who's won it! The fans are going wild, just look at them. This is a brilliant site to see.
Tyler: It definitely is, we'll leave you though, Geoff Shreeves is in the tunnel, I think he's about to speak to Gerrard, so we'll let you listen in.
Shreeves: So Steven, this is another cup win for your side, the sextuple is a brilliant feat for any team to make, you must be determinet to make it a septuple?
Gerrard: that's the idea. It's time to win the biggest one of the lot and make history. We're gunna retain the cup, and be the first team to do it, we are!
Shreeves: You fielded quite a weak side today..-
Gerrard: Wasn't a weak side. Oh no Geoff! No way was that a weak side. It was younger for sure, but the players I started are fully capable of winning these games and they've proven that.
Shreeves: When your side had that spell of hitting the woodwork, did you feel it wouldn't be your night?
Gerrard: Honestly, no. I kept believing, I kept wishing for that one goal and I was thinking back to Istanbul. It didn't look like we'd get one let alone three and we came out and battered them. I always thought we could do it, even at 1-0 down!
Shreeves: And when Florenzi netted that last ditch winner, how did you feel?
Gerrard: On top of the world Geoff. On top of the bloody world! It was a great goal, a great move. We deserved it. Florenzi deserved it. You might have seen but I went a bit crazy on the touchline.
Shreeves: And the man that won it...-
Gerrard: Yep! Jordan, where is? Ey! Jordan, over here!
Rossiter: A'ight!
Shreeves: Jordan, you must be buzzing after that. You've won the FA Cup for your boyhood club, how do you feel?
Rossiter: Amazin', absolutely amazin'! I feel I had a great game and felt I deserved a goal. I got one but I didn't think it'd be the winner in penalties. I'm ecstatic.
Shreeves: Well last question lads, Gerrard. Can this boy be the man to replace you someday.
Gerrard: Replace me? He'll be ten times the player Geoff.
Shreeves: Well, I'll let you off to celebrate, but lastly. gerrard, Jordan has been awarded man of the match, so if you'll do the honours and hand him the champagne?
Gerrard: Sure Geoff! Here ya'a Jordan. Right, see ya later Geoff, we're off to party.
Shreeves: Have a great night!
