Who Can Fill The Gap?
It's, just a day since John Henry's heartbreaking revelation, but it's a time where the Liverpool team, and fans has to rally around, group together and push forward with their football. It's a time where Liverpool must look at hiring a new manager, and replacing Rodgers, before pre-season starts.
So, who are the men that could take the reigns? Well, it's not an easy one to call, and this is definitely something Liverpool need to be careful with. The club needs someone who knows the club. Someone who knows the players.
The favorite to take over, is Rafael Benitez. A man who took Liverpool to two Champions League Finals (Winning one), a second place finish in the Premier League, and one FA Cup trophy. However, we do understand that this team has changed a lot since he was last here, so the Napoli manager could be off the cards.
But, there are two options for Liverpool. Two options that could well see Liverpool maintain the form of last season, and take into the next. The first option, is Jamie Carragher. A man who has made a total 737 apps for Liverpool, winning a total of 12 competitions with his parent club. He has won six individual achievements such as a PFA Player of the Year, and three Liverpool Player of the Year awards.
But again, this team has change big time, since Carragher's retirement, and Liverpool might have to look closer to home. A man who has been with Liverpool for 16 years. A man who has made 669 appearances for Liverpool. And a man who has won 11 competitions as well as a massive 42 individual awards for the club he grew up supporting.
Yes, you probably already guessed. But this man is Steven Gerrard, and very soon this man. This legend...Could be Liverpool's manager, as well as their player and captain.
It's said to be one ballsy move by FSG if they do go ahead with this, and they have been thinking about it. But at his age, at this time...It might just work.
Who will fill this gap? Will it be Benitez? or will it be the man who made it over 17 years worth of appearances whilst supporting the clubs biggest rivals, Everton.
Or a man considered Liverpool's greatest player. Liverpool's most loyal player.
