Giants Drawn Together In Semi Final

After two extremely successful campaigns in the UEFA Champions League, two heavy weights of Europe have been drawn together in the Semi finals of the competition. May the 1st, is the day that brings you the first leg of this massive game between Premier League winners Liverpool, and Ligue 1 winners PSG.

It's a game in which Mamadou Sakho will return to play his former club and supported club. It'll be an exciting day for him, if he does get into the first team sheet.

Paris Saint Germaine have been in phenomenal for this year having done the double in the Ligue 1 and the Coup De France, they have beaten the likes of Manchester United and Olympiakos to get here.

Liverpool have undoubtedly has it a lot harder in the champions league though. Whilst PSG faired against teams like Celtic, Liverpool have been brought up to face Atletico Madrid, Roma, Bayer Leverkusen. Schalke and Arsenal, to which they responded magnificently, winning all but just two of the 10 games they have played.

We could potentially see an all English final too. Elsewhere, Bayern Munich will take on Chelsea in the semi finals after Bayern surpasses Barcelona, and Chelsea trumped Juventus.

So, the draw will see these games;
Paris Saint Germaine vs Liverpool
Chelsea vs Bayern Munich

Will we see an all English final? Or will it be an all foreign final? Or maybe even a mix of the two?
Regardless, all teams will be looking to make it history.
Bayern have the chance to make this their 6th Champions league trophy. Liverpool will want to make it their 6th also. Chelsea will look to make it 2 European trophy's and the Frenchmen from Paris will be going in for their first ever. European cup. Who has what it takes to be crowned European champions?
Congrats on the league title man, fantastic achievement!
Good luck against PSG too ;)

Liverpool Triumphant In Two Legged Semi Final!

As the first leg of the Champions League Semi final began to kick in, anxiety, and nervousness was starting to kick in to both sets of fans. Paris st Germaine had already won their league and could prepare without pressure at the top of their table. The same went for Liverpool.

Both teams set out to win, with these starting line-ups. Which one had what it took to win the first leg and take away an advantage from this game?

Liverpool XI: Reina(c), Johnson, Skrtel, Subotic, Enrique, Lucas, Henderson, Lallana, Cotuinho, Sterling, Suarez.

Paris St Germaine XI: Sirigu, Van Der Wiel, David Luiz, Marquinhos, Jallet(c), Matuidi, Motta, Cabaye, Cavani, Pastore, Ibrahimovic.

Pepe Reina would walk out as Liverpool captain in this game, in place of Steven Gerrard, and Skrtel would take the reigns on the defense with Subotic. Sakho would not be returning to France, so he'll be hoping to get on the sheet for the next game.

The game started at a slow pace. Liverpool being the ones who took control of the match, with some sharp but low tempo'd passing. Five minutes in the Reds were given a chance to break through on goal and score, when a poor pass from Marquinhos dropped his defense in a world of bother. Liverpool were able to break out onto the right wing through Lallana and the former Saints man was able to get the cross in, but a diving header from Luis Suarez hit the post, and ricocheted out for a goal kick.

After another ten minutes, PSG had their chance to make it 1-0, as Ibrahimovic was slipped in with a lovely pass from Pastore. Unlike himself, he sliced it just wide of the post. Reina I am sure would have felt his near post was covered regardless.

Around the 30 minute mark, Cavani made a bursting run in to catch a killer pass from Van Der Wiel, he Uruguayan took one look up, but before he could make the finish he was brought down by his marker Jose Enrique. It was a difficult decision at the time, and many saw it as controversial, but the spot kick that Ibrahimovic did score, was later revealed as the correct decision by UEFA.

So Liverpool found themselves a goal down, and now what needed to happen was a quick response. This was possible. PSG had nothing of the ball before the penalty, and had nothing after it. They were simply lucky to be 1-0, but for the next 15 minutes, the score would remain 1-0 as the game went into half time.

The game drew on and on, and Liverpool attacked and attacked but they couldn't find the net. It just wasn't their day at all. Ten minutes before the end, PSG were given a scare. Raheem Sterling lit up the game with a dazzling run, beating 3-4 of the PSG players on the left side of the field before whipping in a bendy cross, which was met by an ambitious Markovic, who found himself in enough space to shoot, however the ball was rising, and with a quick turn he jumped to bicycle kick the ball, connecting well with the ball, but only hitting the bar.

It would have been one to remember, and would have gone down in history if he'd scored. Luck just wasn't on the Red's side today thought. If the Liverpool supporters were feeling it today, they'd surely be feeling it at Anfield. Or will Anfield calm the nerves? Well, that place has a history of big moments in Europe, so don't right Liverpool off at all.

Paris Saint Germaine would travel to England in the second leg to face up to Liverpool once again, but this time they had a one goal advantage, and would only need to hold onto it to get through to the final, where they would take on either Bayern or Chelsea.

Liverpool XI: Reina(c), Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Henderson, Florenzi, Lallana, Coutinho, Sterling, Suarez.

Paris Saint Germaine XI: Sirigu, Van Der Wiel, David Luiz, Marquinhos, Arbeloa, Matuidi, Motta, Cabaye, Cavani(c), Pastore, Ibrahimovic.

It didn't go according to plan though. In just 16 minutes Liverpool would be 1 goal to the good and level on aggregate. After a corner from Lallana was put back out onto the edge of the 18 yard box by Ibrahimovic, Sterling layed it back out to Lallana who found Henderson stood on the edge of the box waiting for a pass. Henderson whipped the ball back in presumably hoping it would find the top corner. It did, but not the corner he was expecting. Martin Skrtel anticipated the cross and drove the other way fooling Sirigu as Liverpool took the lead.

It went from bad to worse though for PSG, just before half time, an already booked Ibrahimovic would go down in Pepe Reina's box hoping to earn his side a penalty, but the ref got the right decision again this time around and booked the star striker for diving, and he was sent for an early bath.

60 minutes into the game, Lucas Leiva intercepted a pass from Cabaye, and he thumped it down the left wing for Sterling to pick up. The youngster then took on his marker, David Luiz and drilled into the the box into Lallana. The Englishman was ready to header it when unexpectedly Luis Suarez jumped out of no where to fire the ball into the right bottom corner with his head, sending the Liverpool fans into absolute chaos as they erupted into celebrations. Surely no way back for PSG?

20 minutes on, the game was still being dragged out by Liverpool as they kept possession and battled for every blade of grass and every inch of the pitch. It was only ten minutes before time that the talisman, Coutinho put the game to bed and sent Liverpool into the Champions League Final with a shot from just a few yards out as Enrigue floored one into the area.

Liverpool were going to be in the Champions League Final for the first time in seven years, and they were on the verge of making history. All that stood in Rodgers' way now, was Chelsea, after they beat Bayern Munich 2-0 in the second leg. An all English Final. Perfect.
Congrats on taking the title! :D

Bebero: Cheers mate! I have a great plan for the final, so hopefully this will pay off and we can win!

Tallery: Not going to happen I'm afraid ;) Let's hope anyway xP Lool!

Adam: Seems that way doesn't it? Just hope we don't choose the hard route in the final! ;)

Liverpool Youngsters End Season In Style

CHELSEA 1-0 LIVERPOOL | N/A
LEICESTER 4-5 LIVERPOOL | LAMBERT X2, BORINI, AURIER, IBE, SKRTEL(OG)

It has been a fine year for Liverpool. The Reds have finally won the Barclays Premier League title, beating off the likes of United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal to win it. They will also be competing against their big rivals Chelsea in the Champions League Final on the 25th May.

Firstly though, they would play Chelsea in the Premier League, and Brendan Rodgers fielded a fairly young and weakened side at Stamford Bridge. Obviously, the Reds boss does not want to show his opponents what they can do before the big game.

Surprisingly, Jose Mourinho put out a full strength team and Liverpool's weakened side played incredibly well, and deserve all the credit despite losing out to a goal from Diego Costa in the 12th minute. Borini, Markovic, Allen and Aurier all among the younger players to feature in this game, and they nearly proved themselves against such a strong side. Sterling, Nicola Murru, and Emre Can also featured, and put in solid performances.

The final game of the Premier League was played at the King Power Stadium, in a game which Leicester City would need to win, and would also need West ham to lose if they were to stay up.

The two teams put in a fine display of end to end attacking football, right from the start we had an own goal from Martin Skrtel, and an equalizer from Rickie Lambert in the 9th minute. Five minutes later, Leicester were back in front with a goal from David Nugent, and it was an extra 14 minutes before Borini scored his final goal of the season to level the score.

Liverpool took the lead next, as an overlapping Aurier supported front man Jordan Ibe, who slipped the Ivorian in to curl the ball into the far bottom corner with the outside of his boot.
Chris Wood scored a worldie from 30 yards, and the scores were now 3-3.

77 minutes in, Man of the Match Jordan Ibe got his well deserved goal as he played a one two with Aurier before bending one over the top of the goal keeper, off the post and in which actually earned himself goal of the month.
Rickie Lambert scored his second goal of the match with a header from close range, his speciality his exploiting spaces at the top of the pitch and pounding them in with his head, and that's exactly what he did here to give Liverpool a two goal lead before Leicester scored again four minutes later through Knockaert to put an end to the perfect game. It had everything.

A fantastic last two games for Liverpool. They lost to Chelsea, but with such a young and weak side, they played extremely well and were unlucky not to win. This will be vital experience for them in the future, as will the game against Leicester City which will most likely go down as game of the season.

Dat scoreline tho!
Great season, and congrats on winning the league!

Champions League Final Live

Lineker: Welcome, everyone to BBC's live coverage of tonight's Champions League Final, between English giants, Liverpool and Chelsea Football Club. Here with me is Roy Keane, and Gus Poyet...Gus, what are you expecting from tonight's game?

Poyet: I'm expecting both teams to go all out attack. I think they no each other well, they know that they both have extreme attacking ability, however they will also know that both defensive are very weak, and I think they will both try and counter that with the best form of defense. The attack. I think it'll be a great game tonight.

Keane: I'm not so sure actually, I think it'll be a tight game, and this score line will decided narrowly. I can't see it going beyond 90 minutes though. I am certain the winners will be decided by just a goal.

Lineker: Well, let's look at the teams then here they are. Liverpool's starting XI is, Reina, Johnson, Subotic, Agger, Enrique, Lucas, Henderson, Lallana, Coutinho, Sterling and Suarez.

Chelsea start with...Cech, Marc Bartra, Ivanovic, Terry, Azpilicueta, Lars Bender, Ramires, Willian, Oscar, Hazard, and Costa. Thoughts guys?

Poyet: As I expected, both teams have come out very attacking, I think Liverpool are better in defense, and I think Chelsea have more experience up top but no matter how young, Liverpool's attacking threat should not be written off.

Keane: I do agree with that actually. Let Liverpool have time and they will punish you. These two sides know each other well mind, so it won't be the first time they have met. Both teams know what's at stake and what they have to do to win. It's nothing new here really. Same game as a few days back, but there's just a bit of silverwear at the end of it.

Lineker: Ok, well we'll leave you now with our commentators, Andy Gray, and Martin Tyler.

Tyler: Thank you, Gary. Andy, how are you?

Gray: Very well, thank you! Now, let's get down to this massive game.

Tyler: Which ways it going do you think then Andy?

Gray: I'm going Liverpool. I think they have enough about them to win, and I think Chelsea ran themselves down energy wise in the last two games of the season, so yes. Liverpool.

1' Tyler: Here we go then, we're off now, and Liverpool get the game under way. Lallana has the ball on the right, knocks it onto Suarez in the middle, Liverpool bursting forward. Suarez holds it up, Sterling making a run, Suarez passes, STERLING! Oooh! A poor effort.

Gray: I don't believe that. Suarez has put that on a plate there for young Raheem. He'll kick himself for that, but he;s a strong lad so he'll hold his head high. He's kicked it right at the keeper look though, and there is just no power. Poor effort.

20' Tyler: Suarez will take this free kick from deep now. Comes in, defended and cleared well, out to Hazard on the left. Still going, down the left, approaching the Liverpool box. Slips in Ramires, RAMIREEEES!! OH IT'S THE POST!

Gray: oh my word. He's 5 yards out! He's hit the far post...I do not believe this. As a professional footballer playing int he Champions League final, you should put them away every single time you get the chance, that was horrible from Ramires. Sliced it wide, poor technique.

25' Tyler: Bender has it in the centre. Tackled by Suarez, who lays off Lucas. Lucas now. Henderson...Onto Sterling. Quick one-two back with Henderson. Through the middle to Suarez, who drops back to Lucas, Lucas over to Lallana who is in space here. Lallana with the pass to Coutinho, HE'S IN! Back to Lallana, who releases is it back to COUTINHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! GOAAAAAAAL FOR LIVERPOOL!

Gray: Would you look at the that. Now that is the definition of football. Liverpool, take a bow. Every pass is with their first touch, they've played about 7 passes and it's ended in a fantastic team goal. Rodgers will be loving that.

Tyler: And look how much it means to young Coutinho. He's delighted, and obviously, he's scored a goal in the Champions League final!

30' Tyler: Bender launches the ball over to Hazard, headed out by Agger, but only as far as Bartra. OH NO! What's he doing, he's passed it all the way back to Suarez, he's put his side right in it!! Suarez brings it out to the wing, crosses in! Comes to nothing. Henderson picks it up though, quick pass to Coutinho on the edge of the box, slides the ball through the legs of Terry, TO SUARREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ!!!! 2-0 LIVERPOOOOL! THE CROWD HAVE ERUPTED, THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!

Gray: WHAT A GOAL. If the last one was good, it's got nothing on this one. That pass from Coutinho was like nothing I have ever seen before. He's slipped it through the defenders legs instead of around them. And the finish is remarkable. I think Liverpool have already won this to be honest.

40' Tyler: Coutinho has the ball in the centre. Through to Suarez, takes on Terry. 3-0!!!! IT'S 3-0!!!

Gray: Oh my word, Chelsea are tragic they really are. This is abysmal. They've lost this. I said the same about Liverpool 9 years ago too. But no...Chelsea have really lost this.

Second Half

55' Tyler: Azpilicueta with the throw, long throw to Willian, OO! Nearly. Good header but goal kick regardless.

72' Tyler: There's been little for either side to show this half. Willian on the ball...Breaks into the area, brought down by Agger!! PENALTY!
Lukaku will take this penalty. This is vital. Steps up...GOAL! 3-1. Surely not? Fans will be thinking back to 2005 now. Will karma come back to bite Liverpool?

90' Tyler: We're Drawing to a close now. Liverpool have done everything, they have covered everything, every blade of grass. They wanted this badly, and my my, I am glad it's them that have got it, they deserve it.
AND THE REF BLOWS!! LIVERPOOL HAVE WON THEIR 6TH CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TITLE!!! IN SENSATIONAL FASHION!

Gray: OH YES! WHAT A WAY TO WIN. REMARKABLE. IT'S SIMPLY SENSATIONAL, AND THE CROWD ARE SO LOUD, I CAN HARDLY HEAR MYSELF THINK!

Tyler: They do deserve it. More than anyone, they played fantastically well tonight. And here are Chelsea going up for their runners up medals. And, once that is done, Liverpool will lift the European cup for the 6th time in their history.

Gray: Well, here they go then, they've made history tonight. And it's not just because it's their 6th European cup. They've won the Premier League as well, and that is something to be proud of.

Tyler: Here we go. They've got their medals, and Platini will present Steven Gerrard with the European Cup. A kiss, for the cup he has now won for the second time in his career. AND LIVERPOOL ARE CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE AGAIN. HISTORY IS MADE. This season will live long in the memory.

Gray: Well, I think me and you Martin should sign off now and let the fans take this in. All I can say ladies and gentlemen...Liverpool, are back.

Congratulations!! ;) Amazing win!
Fantastic job and congratulations! Loving this story :D
