It has been announced that Adil Rami will take over Riccardo Montolivo as captain of A.C. Milan for the upcoming season. Montolivo is expected to have to fight for his place in the starting line up where as Rami is certain to start.

“It is an honour to be chosen to lead one of the biggest football clubs in the world, I will do my best to lead Milan back to where the club belongs.” said Rami. The French international, who is known for his strength and determination, will look to lead by example as the club works to return back to its former glory.

Nigel de Jong has been announced as vice-captain, with questions about his aggressiveness not concerning manager Filippo Inzaghi. “Nigel plays the game with passion and heart, it is what makes him the tremendous player that he is.” said Inzaghi. “This also sees other players lift their performances around him, which is exactly what you want from a leader.” he added.

Milan has commenced their pre-season training ahead of their tours of Argentina and China. They are expected to draw large numbers as they prepare for the upcoming Serie A season.
Good decision to put rami as captain. De Jong should play even better with a bit of respect as well. Good update.

Great choice in Handanovic, Degsy, he's a great goalkeeper! Vidic isn't a bad backup, either ;)

Sorry Griffo but I hate De Jong :P

Xander Thank you Xander!

Neal Ex-Manchester City player, I love him!

Eder Alvarez Balanta will play in the Serie A this coming season after A.C. Milan paid €6.5 million in his transfer from Argentinian side River Plate. The 21 year old is powerfully built, strong in the air and a fearless tackler, the kind of player Filippo Inzaghi will require heading into his first season as a manager in the Serie A.

“I am still young and learning but a move to A.C. Milan will help me develop as a footballer.” Said Balanta. “I am glad to settle the speculation of where I will move to in Europe and I hope to work hard to reach my goals I aim to achieve during my career.” he added.

Despite being only early in his career, Balanta has drawn comparison to players such as Daniel Passarella and Inter Milan great Ivan Cordoba. It is yet to be seen whether Balanta is capable of living up to these high expectations.

Balanta will join A.C. Milan on their tour of Argentina and will face his old side River Plate on 27th of July. A.C. Milan face Empoli in the opening fixture of the Serie A season.
Great signing Griffo! hopefully he develops to his full potential for you!

Mateo Kovacic scored the winner for Inter on the end of a great pass from Hernanes

Inter Milan | 1-0 | Hoffenheim
Mateo Kovacic (72)

Inter Milan have begun their pre-season with a win at home over Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. Although it took a while for the Nerazzuri to break through, their eventual answer came through midfielder Mateo Kovacic in the 72nd minute. Inter played a very patient brand of football to Hoffenheim's all out attack and the late sealer was enough for Inter and it's fans. Mazzarri was pleased with the performance as were the players and fans as Inter started their pre-season positively.

Inter Milan started the match in control, and didn't give Hoffenheim much of a chance in the first 45 minutes. However, Inter didn't convert their chances with Osvaldo missing a sitter in the 36th minute. After half time it remained the same, with Inter and Hoffenheim trading chances but not converting. Dani Osvaldo missed another goal on 55 minutes.

It may have taken them 72 minutes, but the winner for Inter Milan finally came when Hernanes played a great through-ball for Mateo Kovacic, who paused and slammed it over Oliver Baumann's outstretched fingers and into the net. Inter had been patient all match and were patient once more in defence as they didn't let Hoffenheim through in the last 20 minutes, securing the victory. Hernanes was named player of the match for his wonderful assist.

Inter Milan will continue their pre-season against Sky Bet Championship club Charlton.
