Philippe Mexes will play in the Barclays Premier League next season with Everton after the Merseyside club secured the French defender in a €1.6 million transfer. It is believed the signing of Colombian defender Eder Alvarez Balanta was the reason for Mexes departure as well as being the highest wage earner at the club.

“Philippe adds experience to our squad and will feature prominently over the course of the season.” said Everton manager Robero Martinez. “As we will be participating in the Europa League an extended squad is required and I will be looking to make more moves before the transfer window closes.” he added.

Roberto Martinez has added to Everton’s defensive stocks ahead of the upcoming season

A.C. Milan will pay a percentage of the French internationals wages until his contract expires or is re-negotiated in order to seal the transfer. Everton face Leicester City in the opening fixture of the Barclays Premier League but will face tough opposition in the first month of the competition as fixtures against Arsenal and Chelsea follow.
Big sale there but Balanta should be able to fill his boots

A little bit of disappointment in seeing him go, but nothing beats a bit of Alvarez Balanta.

Milan Fail To Impress Against Velez

A crowd of 23,127 arrived to see A.C. Milan take on Velez

Velez | 0-0 | A.C. Milan

A.C. Milan failed to score in their opening pre-season friendly against Velez during the clubs tour of Argentina with the game finishing 0-0. Velez dictated play early on but it was Stephan El Shaarawy who had the first chance of the game but sent the ball wide wasting a terrific opportunity.

Next it was Velez who had a chance but Lucas Pratto has his header saved by new signing Diego Lopez. Fellow new signing Ricardo Rodriguez impressed and was clearly the best player on the park in the first half but the sides went to the break with no change to the score.

Early in the second half, Milan manager Filippo Inzaghi substituted Andrea Poli for Riccardo Montolivo and the 28 year old had an immediate impact on the game. Montolivo controlled the midfield and gave Milan control of the match but they failed to take advantage of the change in momentum.

Nigel De Jong was booked for a poor challenge on Alejandro Cabral late in the game but it was
Giampaolo Pazzini who failed to score an open header from a cross from El Shaarawy that left the Milan fans frustrated as Velez finished the game the happier of the two sides.

Milan will next face River Plate on the 27th of July in a game which will see new signing Eder Alvarez Balanta go up against his old club.
This has the potential to be an amazing story... a great start so far and an awesome idea!
Always been an Inter man myself... hang on, that could sound wrong taken out of context.....

Charlton Shock Complacent Inter

Charlton stunned Inter to secure a 0-0 draw

Charlton | 0-0 | Inter Milan

Charlton fans walked away from The Valley in large spirits today as their team pulled off a plucky 0-0 draw against a seemingly complacent Inter Milan outfit. The Italian team failed to make any impact on the scoreboard and Charlton will be very happy with the draw.

Inter started slowly, looking to get a grasp of the game, and Charlton showed their defensive solidity from the start as well. Inter's runs couldn't penetrate the determined Charlton back four. As the minutes wore on, Inter's attacks grew less and less frequent until it seemed that Charlton had won the mental battle. After 90 minutes, Charlton remained level with Inter and the match finished as a 0-0 bore draw.

Fans of Charlton are delighted with the draw, claiming it as one of their best ever achievements, whilst Nerazzuri fans are disgusted with the complacency on show. Mazzarri commented after the game saying change was needed. Inter will resume the pre-season with matches against HSV and Atletico Madrid.

Wow, some really unimpressive performances there, really highlights the challenge that waking these sleeping giants will pose.

Ziechael Yes they were pretty despicable, but hopefully we can both turn it around! *cough* I mean just me *cough*

Inter Milan have announced the signing of Watford attacking midfielder Fernando Forestieri for a fee of €8.5 million. Forestieri joins the club in a period of great reform for the club, and Mazzarri promises more signings to come. Forestieri was very happy to have moved to such an illustrious club.

Forestieri has spent just 2 seasons at Watford after moving from Udinese in 2013

Forestieri is renowned for his great dribbling skills, and has wowed Championshp fans for the past 2 seasons with his wizardry on the field. He also possess a good technique and work rate.

The Italian has been signed as a back up attacking midfield option as Mazzarri is looking to play 2 or 3 in that position. Forestieri will have his chance to impress in the pre-season. He will look to make his debut in the match against Hamburger SV next week.
