EDIT: Woo, this is my 2000th post on the site! :D

Obviously without Stam none of this would have been possible at all, so another massive thanks for him creating this wonderful site.

But, all of you guys make this place such a wonderful community to be part of too. The list goes on and on of who I could thank, for all the help and support I have received here, how welcome I have been made to feel, and in general the laughs I have had in my year or so on the site.

A big thanks for everything, guys!

Season One: November

If last month was described as one which would test the players, then this month was on an even higher level of difficulty, so to speak. A cup upset against League One side Crewe would obviously be on the minds of most of the squad, however it was important that we remained concentrated, and continued to battle hard in our bid for promotion with league wins still the main objective.

League Table

The Hawks are still flying at the top of the league table, with a 3 point advantage and a game in hand over Maidenhead. We have a huge advantage over Ebbsfleet, who are just outside the play-off zone, and there is no doubt we will finish in the top 6 this season while I still think we have the beating off most of the other top teams in our league.

Player of the Month

Danny Blanchett is the surprise collector of the award for ‘Player of the Month’ in November. While Bradley Bubb once again hit the goalscoring trail, Blanchett went about his work in a quiter fashion and may have been overlooked by fans. But, his form deserves the plaudits with the 27 year old being a consistent performer as he showed good defensive attributes in addition to the ability of getting up and down the line as are the demands of a modern full back. He even chipped in with a goal, and is every bit as important as other players in the squad.

Overview

Two consecutive losses for the first time this season obviously puts a damper on things, but overall it was a fairly good month for Havant. We strung together some good wins towards the end of October furthering our advantage in the league, and took Whitehawk to a replay in the F.A. Trophy with a big chance to avenge the loss we suffered against them previously, in the later fixture. If we can get through that a fixture against Hemel Hempstead awaits us, with a potential cup run beginning to take shape.

Jack: Indeed, Whitehawk proved to be pretty difficult opponents but two penalties in two minutes for them was a bit unlucky :P

Whitehawk have the best chips in non league! http://nonleaguechips.tumblr.com/

EDIT: OK, having looked at page 2, they no longer have anywhere near the best.
And I think I'll nab the 100th reply too :P
You're always guaranteed goals in non-league. Managing well, though! Keep it up :)

Bradbury: Festive period crucial

Havant and Waterlooville may be sitting pretty at the top of the Vanarama Conference South but with a grueling set of fixtures ahead of them in December and January, boss Lee Bradbury has told his troops that it is crucial they continue their good form.

The Hawks have won 12 games from 17 this season, and currently reside on 39 points in 1st place. There have been some exceptional, goal filled, performances for the fans to enjoy too and good football has been played. With a game in hand and 3 points over the nearest competitors Maidenhead, Havant look odds on for promotion and if they can successfully pass through the next month or so, the title could already be theirs as well.

Eastbourne Boro, Hemel Hempstead, local rivals Gosport Borough and Bishop’s Stortford all lie ahead in the league, with Whitehawk the cup opponents and another fixture awaiting them afterwards if they can progress.

Manager Lee Bradbury is certainly aware of the difficulty of the upcoming matches for his team though, and is assured that results could determine how the second half of the season pans out for his side;

”Yes, we’ve got some really tricky games ahead of ourselves but we are definitely good enough to rise above them and come away with the win’s we are looking for. I’ve told my players how crucial the festive period is and that results could potentially determine how the second half of our season pans out, but I’m not putting them under too pressure, mind. I’m telling them what I expect of them, they know I expect high standards, and I’m sure all the lads will do the team well.”

One game in particular that supporters are eagerly anticipating is the match against Gosport, which is something of a derby game, to be played at West Leigh Park. It is scheduled to be played out on Boxing Day too, and should be a great occasion for those who take interest in lower league football and local clubs. Bradbury admitted that he and the entire dressing room, are ‘looking forward to this game especially’, and that he is hopeful of a great result befitting of the event.
