Summer transfer window roundup

JJK have unveiled two new loan deals and one free transfer in the summer transfer window of 2021. It is reported that manager Mr. Shroom was looking to add width to the squad with a lot of games to come towards the end of the season.

JJK ADD TWO ON LOAN
JJK have loaned Brazilian defensive midfielder Fábio Augusto from Vasco. Augusto will be rotated alongside Alexi Peuget and Obed Malolo. With Augusto being a potential star player JJK might be looking to make this deal permanent although it does not seem likely at the moment.

Belgian central defender Ferre Devriendt has also joined the JJK squad from Club Brugge. Devriendt is thought to be a backup for the current first choice centerbacks Mike and Jussi Heino. The Belgian should be quick to settle in with Belgian striker Elyounoussi already well accomodated in Finland.

JJK SECURE ONE ON A FREE TRANSFER
It was reported earlier that JJK were waiting for the fransfer window to open for leftback Gideon Baah to join up with the squad. This signing has now been finalised as Baah will be looking forward to being a backup for Aleksi Lappalainen who will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old left HJK in 2017 after which he has played in the likes of AIK, Fortuna Düsseldorf and Hertha Berlin.

"We're not expecting any fireworks as these players are more likely to be in a backup role. Fabio is the only one with the current ability to be a regular first team member. Either way we are happy that we could add a bit of depth to our current squad.

We have learned from our mistakes in previous seasons when our players got a bit too tired towards the end of the season."
- Mr. Shroom

JJK and Legie clash for a spot in the UCL Group Stage

It was all about the Champions League qualifiers in the next five matches for JJK. JJK made their way to Warszaw for the first leg with the second leg played in Finland. There were also two matches in the FPL with an addition of a decisive Finnish Cup semi final.

JJK SECURE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP STAGE SPOT
Both teams had everything to play for after a 1-1 draw in Warszaw. JJK managed to up the ante and thumped Legia at home 5-0 with the help of Lucas Lingmans hat-trick. The boost in cashflow was significant as the 8.6 million in prize money put JJK back on green for the season after spending 8 million on Elyounoussi.

JJK also managed to demolist FC Inter in the Finnish Cup and have made their way into the cup final for the third consecutive time. JJK will be facing in form MYPA in the final after the club from the city of Kouvola beat HJK.

There was nothing much to tell in the league as JJK are control despite their unlucky loss against Jaro. HJK have continued to drop points and are ten points behind JJK even though HJK have played 3 games more than the current title holders.

"We're happy to once again reach the Group Stage in the UCL. We'll be looking to improve from last time and hopefully grap at least the third spot in the group. The Cup final against MYPA should also be a thrilling encounter. MYPA have been strong this season and have caused our defence quite a bit of trouble." - Mr. Shroom

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUPS DRAWN!
JJK PLACED IN GROUP D

The Finnish champions will be facing Barcelona, Monaco and Club Brugge in this years Champions League. With Barca and Monaco most likely to prove too much of a challenge JJK will be battling Brugge for that third position in the group D.

"I have always been dreaming for forever to manage at the Camp Nou so this is a dream come true. We will be up against it in the group but we'll once again try our best and look where it takes us. I'm confident that we can secure that third position and make it into the Europa League playoffs." - Mr. Shroom
That group :O
Justice : It's exciting :D a real test of our tactical capabilities and a strong possibility to qualify for europa league :-X

JJK and Legie clash for a spot in the UCL Group Stage

The Champions League group stage kicks off with JJK facing AS Monaco away from home. The highlight of the matches to come is also the Finnish CUp final against MYPA. JJK have a chance to secure a second consecutive treble!

JJK DO THE DOMESTIC TREBLE!
JJK managed to beat MYPA in the cup final quite easily after only drawing in the FPL a couple days before. Elyounoussi is back on form and managed to score two in the final clinching the treble.

ON AND OFF FORM
JJK began their second CL group stage in club history against Monaco. It was a difficult, but suprisingly even game. JJK didn't take their chances while Monaco managed to score two taking the three points, as expected.

At the same time Barcelona only managed a draw at Camp Nou against Brugge, which puts JJK in a difficult situation with the whole club on their toes.

"We have now completely forgotten about the FPL, which kind of shows in the poor results. All concentration is now on the Champions League. Brugge were really strong against Barca and we will have to be at our best to secure the qualification for the Europa League Playoffs." - Mr. Shroom]

IN OTHER NEWS
  • Fredrik Lassas injured for four weeks and will be out of the home game against Barcelona.
Congratulations on winning the treble! Good luck with the rest of the European games!
unlucky loss against Monaco, but some good results, and congrats on the treble!
Really nice story. Just read the whole thing. I just wanted to ask, What about your international job with Ghana? The 2022 World Cup is getting close.....
On the offnote to begin I have been a bit pre occupied lately so no time for fm. Hopefully things will soon change and I'll get back to this story.

Justice & InfraRed: Thanks for the support guys. The CL will be a tough one but clearly we have cemented our spot as the most reputable club in Finland. A good base to build on going inte future continental comps!

PranavaD: Thanks man! And there has been massive progress with the Ghana squad, just haven't been posting about it as it felt a bit irrelevant. I guess I could make a short post about the accomplishemnts in case more people are interested!

Long time no update - ECL continues!

It has been a busy five game run for JJK as they faced Barcelona and Club Brugge in the Champions League while also playing three league matches. The run of fixtures has taken a toll on fitness levels but the team is still doing everything with only one match remaining in the domestic season.

JJK FINALLY WIN IN THE CL
It was a day to remember as JJK got the better of Club Brugge at their home stadium. It was JJKs first ever victory ont he Champions League group stage as they only managed two draws in the 2019/20 season. This win has kept alive the dreams of qualifying for at least the Europa League playoffs.

JJK FURTHER SECURE THEIR TITLE
JJK have been in great form in the FPL and with one game remaining have extended their lead over HJK to a respectable 18 points. JJK have now also set the record for most points in a season in the FPL. The record was previously held by HJK who managed 81 points quite a while ago!

If JJK score five or more in their last game they could also break the record for most goals in a season. The current record stands at 86 and is held by HJK.

ELYOUNOUSSI SHATTERS ALEKSIS LEHTONEN RECORD
Said Elyounoussi has topped Aleksis lehtonen's record for most goals in a season. Elyounoussi has now scored 38 goals in 42 appearances for JJK this season in all competitions. Elyounoussi is thought to add to his tally with a few more games remaining before the team heads for vacation.

"We are happy with the run of results we've had. The win against Brugge has kept us in the race for qualification and that is a challenge we all are looking forward to." - Mr. Shroom

Ghana takes charge

It has been a while since the last update on the sidestory. As some of you may remember Mr. Shroom took charge of the Ghanian national team back in the summer of 2019. A lot has happened since as Mr. Shroom has been introducing his style of play with patience.

We begin our journey with the first real challenge as Ghana faced strong opposition in the African Cup of Nations in early 2021.

GHANA CELEBRATE THE AFRICAN NATIONS
Some had doubts after Shroom had a slow start with the Ghana squad. The nation plummited in the world rankings after the Finnish manager took charge. The tides have turned though as Ghana managed their first major trophy since 1982. Mr. Shroom became a national hero.

GHANA LOOK TOWARD FURTHER SUCCESS IN THE WORLD CUP
The 2022 World Cup is closing in and Ghana are well on their way to Quatar. Ghana finished first in their qualifying group without losing or drawing a single match. The then continued to the playoff stage where they faced Mali.

Ghana trashed mali 3-0 in the first leg leaving little to no discussion as to who will go through to the World Cup. The second match was merely a formality as Ghana took their place in the World Cup. The real challenges now await - on several hot days in Quatar.

GHANA WORLD RANKINGS EXPOSED
As things stand Ghana hold the hightes position in the nations history as they sit firmly 13th in the rankings!

Congrats on the African Nations victory, that was a dominant tournament performance!
Why don't you take the Finland National Team role? That way you can get on favoured personnel on players you wanna sign by giving them first caps or something? Ghana is cracking job too though and with you at the helm , I don't think an Africa World Cup is going to come any later
Justice: Thanks bruh! Happy about it!
PranavaD: Sadly it seems impossible for the Finnish FA to release Mixu Paatelainen from his duties. No matter how badly they perform :D
