Summer transfer window roundup
JJK have unveiled two new loan deals and one free transfer in the summer transfer window of 2021. It is reported that manager Mr. Shroom was looking to add width to the squad with a lot of games to come towards the end of the season.
JJK ADD TWO ON LOAN
JJK have loaned Brazilian defensive midfielder Fábio Augusto from Vasco. Augusto will be rotated alongside Alexi Peuget and Obed Malolo. With Augusto being a potential star player JJK might be looking to make this deal permanent although it does not seem likely at the moment.
Belgian central defender Ferre Devriendt has also joined the JJK squad from Club Brugge. Devriendt is thought to be a backup for the current first choice centerbacks Mike and Jussi Heino. The Belgian should be quick to settle in with Belgian striker Elyounoussi already well accomodated in Finland.
JJK SECURE ONE ON A FREE TRANSFER
It was reported earlier that JJK were waiting for the fransfer window to open for leftback Gideon Baah to join up with the squad. This signing has now been finalised as Baah will be looking forward to being a backup for Aleksi Lappalainen who will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
The 29-year-old left HJK in 2017 after which he has played in the likes of AIK, Fortuna Düsseldorf and Hertha Berlin.
"We're not expecting any fireworks as these players are more likely to be in a backup role. Fabio is the only one with the current ability to be a regular first team member. Either way we are happy that we could add a bit of depth to our current squad.
We have learned from our mistakes in previous seasons when our players got a bit too tired towards the end of the season." - Mr. Shroom
