Europa League special!

Qualifiers

"We have done it! This was totally unexpected and the opposition in the qualifying rounds was tough! This gives us a lot of confidence going into our first ever Europa League group stage." - Mr. Shroom

The draw was an incredible event for everyone involved with the club. How did the draw go? Who did we get?

Group F
Athletic
Anderlecht
Dynamo Kiyv
JJK

"It's a very interesting group and the results will probably be all over the place. I would consider us clear outsiders simply due to the stature of the other teams but we'll do our best!" - Mr. Shroom

Europa League - The fairytale continues!

Group F - A Legend

The Finnish footballing world is sleeping as the snow is falling. Not everyone though as JJK are the only club to compete in the Europa League! Heat is up as JJK play their home games at Ratinan Stadion. Harju, our home, is way too small with the capacity of 5100. Here is how we played the group!

"This is beyond all expectations. Incredible results with Emmanuel Dieseruvwe finding the form of his life in the late parts of the season." - Mr. Shroom

JJK qualify for knockout rounds!

Unexpected is an understatement. With Athletic and Anderlecht the main contenders to go through JJK winning the group is something out of this world. Only one loss and one draw in the group stage ment that JJK were through with two games in hand.

"This calls for champagne, and beer, beer is the best. We will se who we'll be playing in the first knockout round, but this is already something for the history books. We are expecting a huge hype in the Finnish footballing world!" - Mr. Shroom
Wow! Well done, representing Finland :)

"We are happy with the first round draw. I feel this gives us a reasonable chance of qualifying for the second stage." - Assistant Manager, Roni Lindroos

In the second stage, if qualified, JJK will play either Braga or Valencia. Interesting times ahead!

More in than out. If it works, why change it?

Season 2019 begins! League Cup & EC knockouts

JJK qulify from League Cup group with ease

"Finally a successful group stage, with one game yet to come. This is the form that we're looking for." - Assistant Manager, Roni Lindroos

Dnipro brushed aside as Lehtonen takes the plaudits!

It was a performance to remember from Aleksis Lehtonen as he single handedly demolished Dnipro in the second leg. Absolutely incredible.

JJk have drawn Valencia for the second knockout round. What a challenge this will be!

A couple more signings and losses

IN!

Obed Malolo, 21, DM(MC)
From HJK, 160 000€

Jussi Heino, 17, DC/DM
From KTP, 0€

OUT!

Luis Milla, 31, MC(DM)
100 000 €, moved to APOEL

Astrit Kabashi, 25, DC

"We have managed to continue the "finnishialization" of the squad with Obed joining the first team. Jussi will be a bright prospect for the future. We could still be in the market for another player, but that will probably have to wait until the summer." - Mr. Shroom
Malola and Heino are two very good signings. Congratulations on qualifying from your League Cup group and good luck against Valencia!
Justice : Hopefully Malolo can be an asset next season. And yes, luck will be needed against Valencia so thank you for that!

League Cup & EC knockouts!

The League Cup seems impossible

"We are extremely disappointed to once again fail in the League Cup. I for one am already tired of saying "there's always next year"." - Assistant Manager, Roni Lindroos

Miracles await!

This was incredible! Nobody could ever predict that a tiny club from Finland could even reach this stage of the competition, not to mention defeat Valencia with two strong performances!

"I'm over the moon! We have shown that with dedication and impressive teamwork we can do anything and win anyone! The sky is the limit now!" - Mr. Shroom

JJK draw AS Roma for the Europa League quarter final, this must be the end?

"It was expected so we're not really disappointed. We managed to do extremely well at home creating loads of chances but the finishing was a bit off that day. This season in Europe brought us a lot of cash and we will be strong in the Champions League Qualifiers which start soon." - Mr. Shroom

A forced signing due to injury crisis

Rafael Henrique, 19, DC(DR)
Free Transfer

"Both of our left defenders, and one central defender have gone out for around a month so we needed some cover in this area. More signings to come when the transfer window opens in summer!" - Assistant Manager, Roni Lindroos
Sensational achievement to beat Valencia! Unlucky against Roma, but you should be very proud of reaching the QFs!
Justice : I am proud! I believe this is the fastest that I've gotten this far in any FM since I started playing with JJK. I believe the first long save with this team was FM09. The team has been sensational!

How ya doin'? - Roundup

In this post we will check out how Finland and JJK are doing compared to other teams and nations. I can tell you that there has been a huge boost in our teams reputation!

European Rankings announced

The Finnish Premier League has moved up 5 places to 38th. Finnish national squad is ranked 62nd in the FIFA World Ranking.

JJK have moved up 566 places to 88th position in the new European club rankings!

"When an incredible leap! We are the most improved club in Europe this season and that's something to be proud of! A boost was expected after our run in the Europa League but this is phenomenal!" - Assistant Manager, Roni Lindroos

Finances - money is everything

"Last seasons performances gave us a huge boost in terms of our financial status. With our current wages this financial situation is only going to improve over the on going season." - Mr. Shroom

Premier league begins - Mixed feelings

"We got off to a decent start but then the problems began. Injuries, suspensions - everything. Not the start we had in mind and it shows looking at the league table." - Mr. Shroom

Injuries hit JJK hard as both left defenders were out for quite a while. Striker Dieseruvwe was forced to play in the midfield and pretty much everything was a bit off.

The impossibility that is Finnish football

"It's been difficult and we have 3 first team players on international duty for a month, including leading goalscorer Aleksis Lehtonen. There are way too many games in the Finnish season. We have only just gotten started and some of our players have already played close to 30 games." - Assistant Manager, Roni Lindroos

The Finnish FA should really do something about it. Suggestions are that the Premier League needs a couple more teams to enable teams playing each other twice in stead of the current three times.

Adding Cup competitons as well as JJKs success in Europe the players are way too tired at any point in the season. Note that playing in the EURO Cup group stage means that the players never have the time to go on holiday.
Not the most ideal results, but you are still in a very respectable position. Hopefully you can catch HJK up!
Just been reading through the last two pages to catch up! I love reading about small clubs in smaller rep countries rising, especially when they do as well in Europe as you did. Honestly, getting to the quarters with the games you had to play is a great achievement.
