We Are Going Up - Again!

It's yet another fantastic end to a season as Adam Chabukiani leads his Bradford Park Avenue team to their third consecutive promotion.

Bradford PA fans will be celebrating well into the night later as they finally have confirmation that they are going up yet again under the leadership of Adam Chabukiani.

After a topsy-turvy season of highs and lows, it all came down to a 1-1 draw with Crewe Alexandra, with our new signing Carlton Cole making it all possible with the equalising goal in the 41st minute.

The league title can still be won, but at a very narrow margin in a scenario which would mean Bolton Wanderers beating Luton Town, getting their third win of the entire season in the process, and Bradford Park Avenue beating Cambridge.

It looks like Luton will be taking the spoils of the league title, with Northampton, Oxford, Newport, Stevenage and Exeter all battling it out for the final automatic promotion spot, which is occupied by Northampton.

The promotion really is an exceptional feat for Bradford, with the club sitting in ninth place at the turn of the year.

But Chabukiani's transfers in January have been the key point this season, with the likes of Gobern, Donyoh and Ward all playing a major part in the team's resurgence into 2nd place.

Had it not been for a 2-0 loss to Exeter City earlier this month, Bradford would have had one hand on the league title by now, but as the clubs fans know, Chabukiani does not like league titles - winning none in his three promotions as Bradford PA manager.

With the club returning to Horsfall Stadium for the final match of the season against Cambridge United on the 5th May, it is expected to be a day of jubilation for the already sold-out crowd as party mode is switched on for the club, knowing that the club will be playing in League One next season.

Will the Bradford Park Avenue train ever stop powering on through the leagues, with Chabukiani as the driver? My guess is probably not! Tune in next season to find out!
Sensational effort man! 3 straight promotions & the title still to play for! C'mon Bolton!!!!

League Two Final Day: Live]

Welcome to Minster FM, this is me Brian Robertson reporting on all of today's League Two matches on the final day of the season.

There are currently 2,950 people crammed inside Horsfall Stadium today as they buckle up for the title race taking place today.

Bradford Park Avenue currently sit a whole three points behind Luton Town today, who are currently on course to winning the League Two title. Luton play Bolton Wanderers, who have still yet to break out of minus points after just two wins and two draws throughout the whole season. It would take a real miracle today for Bradford Park Avenue to win the league.

Now the lineups have been handed in to the referees and after we have announced them the game will kick off:

BPAFC: 25. R. Turnbull, 2. C. Dumlupinar, 4. K. Piwowarczyk, 26. N. Oseni, 13. S. Ward, 16. B. Blackmore, 22. O. Gobern, 11. J. Hallahan, 15. G. Donyoh, 10. C. Cole, 9. M. Fletcher.

CUFC: 1. C. Oldfield, 21. G. Williams, 41. G. Hoyte, 5. M. Roberts, 42. R. Chaplow, 25. B. Burleson, 8. L. Berry, 7. R. Donaldson, 24. C. Newton, 40. T. Barnett, 10. M. Higdon.

BPAFC Subs: 1. M. Wright, 3. A. Breslin, 7. J. Abubakar, 18. M. Forssell, 14. V. Kovac, 19. J. Vercauteren, 5. J. Lynch.

CUFC Subs: 20. D. Calliste, 13. J. Gabriel, 22. C. McKendry, 19. J. Hyde, 28. Z. Hines, 2. E. Omozusi, 26. E. Whitehouse.

1': It's Bradford PA who have got us started here at Horsfall Stadium, Carlton Cole rolling it to Matthew Fletcher.

6': Oldfield with the free-kick for Cambridge. It's a poor kick out and now it has been headed by Gobern down to Matthew Fletcher. The lethal Australian turns and runs at the backpeddling defence. He's found the run of Donyoh on the left now. Donyoh gets past the full-back and gets to the byline... It's cut back to Fletcherrrrr! GOAL! Bradford Park Avenue have struck early with some great interplay between Matthew Fletcher and Godsway Donyoh!

7': Cambridge kick us off again with Higdon. Out left to Burleson, now Newton who's in the Avenue half. Donaldson now has it. Luke Berry has sprayed a lovely ball out to the right. Here's Williams. Headed away by Nathaniel Oseni and now it's with Oscar Gobern. Carlton Cole lays the ball off to the oncoming Jack Hallahan. They've played a one-two now as Jack Hallahan chips the ball over to Cole... Cole plays a short pass to Donyoh! Side-netting only.

14': Dumlupinar has a throw in on the far side now. Cole has offered the ball for him and it's with the former England international now. It's a wonderful pass that's been threaded through to Hallahan who is now in the box. Hallahan turns now, lays it off for Oscar Gobern who strikes it! GOAL! It's a second for Bradford as Oscar Gobern blasts in his third goal of the season!

16': It's the Avenue train that never stops now as Matthew Fletcher takes the corner. It's volleyed by Oseni but blocked... A scramble consumes the ball inside the six yard box as everybody tries to get a touch of the ball! It's out of the circle now with Ben Blackmore retrieving it on the wing.

18': Another corner for Bradford, it's Fletcher again. Berry heads it away to safety, but it's nodded back into the danger zone by Donyoh... Blackmore nods it down for Donyoh again. He's taken a touch... Donyohhhh!!! GOAL! It's right into the top corner from Godsway Donyoh!!! Bradford Park Avenue are on fire today!

21': Hallahan has it out on the wing. He cuts inside onto his left foot and chips a teasing ball into the box... Fletcher's there... But he's been dragged to the floor! Penalty kick given! Here's Matthew Fletcher now on the spot kick against Oldfield... Fletcherrrr! Saved! Great save by Chris Oldfield!

23': Oh my word! You won't believe it!!! Bolton Wanderers have taken the lead against league leaders Luton Town!!! It's Matt Breeze with the goal and he may have potentially done Bradford Park Avenue a massive, massive favour in the chase for the title! Unbelievable scenes!

32': Oldfield takes the goal-kick for Cambridge. Oseni brings it down and plays it calmly out to the left to Stephen Ward. Some great triangles here with Blackmore, Gobern and Donyoh all linking up down the left side of the field. Williams wins the ball from Donyoh though, now it's Barnett. Barnett finds the run of Higton! He hits i straight at Turnbull as it rolls out for a corner kick. Poor finishing there.

41': Here's Donaldson in the Avenue half. It's back out on the right to Williams, it's now all the way back to Richard Chaplow who sprays it out left to Burleson. Higdon turns with the ball and feeds Barnett through!!! GOAL! It's Tyrone Barnett who has pulled one back for Cambridge United! Great finish!

45+1': As we head into the break, Adam Chabukiani can be very proud of his side's first-half display as the teams go in with Bradford PA holding a 3-1 lead over Cambridge United.

46': It's Tyrone Barnett to kick off the second half for us.

73': There could be a counter attack on the cards for Bradford PA now as Gobern intercepts Barnett's pass on the halfway line. Omozusi heads away his long ball, but Blackmore nods the ball down for Carlton Cole who takes a touch and plays a beautiful ball... And that's a perfect run from Matthew Fletcher! The Australian is now one-on-one!!! GOAL! Beautifully placed into the back of the net by the striker! A wonderful assist from Cole as well!

90+3': Chris Oldfield to take the goal kick... But he doesn't have time to! And that's the end of the game! Despite losing to rock bottom Bolton Wanderers, Luton Town somehow run away with the League Two title. But it marks the end to another fantastic campaign led by Adam Chabukiani at Bradford Park Avenue, as their fans look towards next season in League One.

Well done on promotion man, but unfortunate to miss out on the title!
OOOO YESSS! Bradford PA are flying high!
Congrats on making it to League 1!!! Do you have any transfer targets in mind for the upcoming window?
Hey Jack, just missed on this story once... but this is awesome. What a great story.

One of the truly greatest ever.

Congrats on promotion, you truly deserves it.

Now for League 1, which in quality terms, is not different than league 2, so you should be able to get through it easily.
congrats on the promotion, keep it up and you will be in the top in no time
mgriffin2012: Yeah, the hunt for my first ever league title goes on unfortunately! Glad to be promoted though :)

Griffo: We'll be getting the glory supporters in soon enough ;)

MJK46: Thanks man! And I'm not willing to disclose that information just yet, you'll have to wait and see over this transfer window ;)

SooruSooru: Thanks for the kind words mate :D And I agree with you about the League One/Two quality difference - the recruitment process will be made a lot easier as a result!

convoyer: Thank you! And I hope you are right on that one ;)
League One here you come! Congratulations on a superb promotion, only good things can follow :P

It has been yet another year of joy and sadness for many clubs up and down the country as the 2017/2018 English footballing season comes to a close, as the best players in the country pray that they have made Ronald Koeman's final England World Cup 2018 Squad, which will be staged in Russia in the next few weeks. England have found themselves in Group D - containing the likes of Mexico, Ukraine and Uruguay as their opponents for the first phases this summer.

But the national team is not the main concern of the majority of players in England, with teams in the lower leagues finalising their places in the same league or the leagues above or below them for next season.

LEAGUE TWO

It was yet another joyous occasion for Adam Chabukiani's Bradford Park Avenue as they achieved their third consecutive promotion in the English leagues, starting from the Vanarama National League North and now have cemented their place in League One for next season. The club battled it out with Luton Town on the last day of the season for the league title, but unfortunately lost out by two goals. With Oxford United capping off the top three, it was down to Exeter City to defeat Newport County 1-0 at Wembley to seal the final promotion spot into League One.

Down at the bottom however, it was a disastrous campaign from rock bottom side Bolton Wanderers who began the season on -12 points after falling into administration. Ending the season with two different managers and landing 48 points from safety after the 46-game period, Bolton in the 2017/18 season are the epitome of a club in a vulnerable wreck as they are relegated into the fifth tier of English football - the furthest they have fallen in their entire history. After a good showing to avoid relegation last year, Grimsby have also fallen into the black hole as they are relegated alongside Bolton Wanderers, despite coming six points away from safety.

LEAGUE ONE

Since Tore André Flo's arrival at Deepdale in March 2015, the Norwegian boss has completely transformed the club from a mid-table team to a team that absolutely destroys the entire league in the short space of a year. Flo took advantage of Preston's relationship with Manchester United to snap up Callum Gribbin, Marcus Rashford, Josh Harrop and Andreas Pereira from the English champions which aided his push for the title massively. Flo also snapped up Liam Cullen on loan from Swansea on deadline day, which was a major signing for the club as Cullen went onto become the top scorer in League One this season. Colchester United narrowly won promotion over Gillingham, nipping into 2nd place despite having 12 less goals on the goal difference tally than Gillingham, but won it on points. Birmingham City have also made a return to the Championship after a penalty shootout win over Rochdale.

At the other end of the table, despite getting rid of the tyrant that was Karl Oyston, Mark Proctor has failed to salvage another year in the third-tier with Blackpool as they slipped into 23rd place, going down alongside Scunthorpe United, Plymouth Argyle and Port Vale. The Tangerines landed a far nine points from safety, where Oldham sat as the league ended. The four teams will be replaced by Luton Town, Bradford Park Avenue, Oxford United and Exeter City for the 2018/19 season.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP

Deemed to be one of the toughest and most unpredictable leagues in the world, the Championship has shocked us again this year. After years of mid-table mediocrity in the second tier for Fulham, they have finally returned to the top-flight after a long and painful wait for the club's fans. The signing of Yaya Sanogo on a free transfer really turned things around in January for the club, but the Craven Cottage faithful heavily relied on Scottish star Ross McCormack yet again this season, with the striker bagging 17 goals in all competitions this season.

Armed with the hefty parachute payments and Brendan Rodgers as manager, Burnley went wild and splashed out £30 million in transfer fees this season as the club went out to destroy the entire league this season with an unholy amount of quality. With the loan signings of Emmanuel Riviere and Steven Fletcher, the club certainly had firepower up top. But they weren't done there, signing up Andre Wisdom (£3.9m), Britt Assombalonga (£3.5m), Corentin Jean (£5.5m) and Zach Clough (£1.9m) totting up only a fraction of their total spend. But in the end, it all paid off as they finished six points ahead of Fulham in 2nd place.

Leicester City beat Leeds United in the Play-Off Final as Leeds were narrowly denied automatic promotion for the second time in a row. Leicester's Albrighton, Tisserand and Roberts finished off Leeds at Wembley in a 3-1 win for The Foxes, bagging a return to the top flight with Burnley and Fulham.

It all turned sour for another Yorkshire team as Doncaster Rovers plummeted down into League One, coming last and 14 points from safety as Reading and Bristol City - weakened by the losses of Zach Clough and Jonathan Kodija - were dragged down into the third tier alongside Darren Ferguson's team.

THE PREMIER LEAGUE

And this is the top-flight after the 2017/18 season. The top was extremely close, with 3rd, 2nd and 1st place all coming way too close for comfort for Manchester United fans who were chattering on their nails by the time of the final day of the season. It was a very expensive couple of transfer windows as well for the clubs in the league, with José Mourinho's title-winning squad having spent £102 million in the summer. With Andriy Yarmolenko joining for just less than £40m and André Schurrle making his return to England for £36.5m, it's not hard to see how United won the title for the 21st time. That being said, Man City, who finished just one point behind their cross-town rivals spent £96m, with Romelu Lukaku, John Stones and Calum Chambers all joining the club in the summer and January.

However it was heartache for Aston Villa ended their 30-year run in the top-flight this season as they finished 18th, just one point from safety. And to make matters worse for The Villains, it was fierce rivals Wolves who were that one point away. Hull City were also one point away from safety in 19th, but like Tim Sherwood's Villa, they couldn't hack it. It was a bad season for Brighton in their first season in the top-flight since 1982, as they accumulated just 24 points this season. Fans can blame the recruitment for such a poor season, with only Clayton Donaldson being signed up throughout the entire Premier League season, with Karl Robinson appearing to put his faith in the team that originally got him to the top-flight.

THE FA CUP

It was another interesting year in the F.A. Cup this season with Arsenal taking the spoils with a 2-0 Final win over Premier League champions Manchester United. The surprise package this season was Barrow without a doubt, who reached the Fourth Round of the Cup, but met the ultimate winners of the competition - Arsenal - who thrashed them 4-0 at The Emirates. However, Tore André Flo pulled off a masterstroke in reaching the Quarter Finals of the competition before a 2-0 knockout against eventual finalists Manchester United at Old Trafford. Championship outfit Middlesbrough reached the Semi Final but were knocked out by Manchester United at Wembley this time around, with Arsenal beating Liverpool to reach the Final.

THE CAPITAL ONE CUP

Arsenal did not have luck on their side in this competition, though, as they were beaten by Manchester City in the Final of the competition. After Yaya Touré was sent off in the seventh minute, summer signing Romelu Lukaku made amends in extra-time with a 94th minute winner. With this competition being Premier League and Football League only, there were rarely any surprise packages with this competition, with the tournament completely made up of Premier League teams in the Semi Final stage.

What a fantastic update man! Fantastic promotion for your side and it's a shame to see Bolton slip down the leagues so drastically!

Shame to see Man Utd win the Premier League but at least they lost the Cup Final!

Hopefully you can have a good season in League One as I always seem to find that there isn't much difference in terms of quality between League One & Two. With a few good additions you should be well set for next year!
Arsenal just love winning the FA Cup :P
mgriffin2012: Yeah, Bolton's finances have just completely nosedived and even had to appoint their scout as manager at one point! I agree with your point about the quality difference and that will certainly save us some money in the long run as we won't have to pay agents, fees or any of that :D

Justice: Well, they can't do much else can they! :))

Horsfall Stadium On The Mend - Again!

Bradford Park Avenue's Horsfall Stadium home is all set to be expanded again, just months after completing its terrace conversion in February.

Following the clubs promotion into League One this season, Bradford PA have to comply with the league's stadium regulations and with that in mind, the club chairman Doctor John Dean has announced that the ground will be enlarging the stadium by 750 seats.

The board have secured a loan of £900,000 which will be paid back at £8,000 per month over the course of ten years.

Bradford PA received a solidarity fee of £525,000 this month for competing in Sky Bet League Two, but will not use that money to pay for the stadium enlargement.

The expansion will take around six months to complete, meaning it will be finished at around November time. The current stadium capacity will be temporarily reduced by 239 seats, meaning the ground can only hold 2,758 fans until the construction work is finished.

But this isn't the only infrastructural improvement Bradford Park Avenue have made today. The club applied to raise their youth rating to Category Four, which application was granted. This means the annual running cost of the youth setup is around £120,000 per year.
