Busy October brings yet more wins for Dortmund fans
Ingolstadt VS Dortmund 1-1
The opening match of the month didn't start too well for Dortmund, as they conceded a last second goal which saw the home side snatch a point in the dying breaths of the game.
Dortmund dominated from star to finish, as Bean took the risk to play his second string XI, as he looked to give his starters the rest they deserved to keep them fresh for the big seven game month.
Gonzalo Castro scored what Dortmund believed to be the winner after 87 minutes, heading in from close range, after Erik Durm was able to flick the ball on at the near post following a corner.
However a lucky long ball punt, bounced perfectly for young striker Maurice Multhuap, who was able to round Rulli in goal, the only first team player on the pitch and slot the ball home.
The home fans were left delighted where as the Dortmund fans were left pulling their hair out.
Dortmund VS Augsburg 7-0
A match that was shown throughout the night and following days, around the world. Not often do sides dominate as much as Dortmund did today, it was a match that the visiting players will remember for a long time.
Aubameyang was the star of the show scoring five goals himself.
The striker scored twice in the opening 15 minutes, both running onto through balls, one from Pogba and the other from Weigl. But they both ended in the same way, Aubameyang blasting them into the far corner and watching them nestle into the corner of the goal.
Bruma, who was replacing Marco Reus following that bad training ground injury, scored the third goal, heading home from a Mkhitaryan cross.
Aubameyang then scored three goals in 10 minutes, to make his game tally five. The hat-trick goal was a superb solo goal, as he jinxed past three defenders, before curling it into the far corner. He scored four minutes later, heading home from a cross by Bruma. Five minutes later he volleyed home from close range, when a long range shot from Paul Pogba was well saved, only for it rebound in the direction of the striker.
With the game drawing to an end at 6-0, Dortmund players appeared to be taking their foot off the pedal. But Mustafi finished off the misery, scoring a powerful header in added time to make it 7-0 and truly humiliate the visitors.
Dortmund VS Valencia 3-2
In dramatic fashion, a second string Dortmund side, with the aid of some familiar faces off the bench, were able to snatch a win against Valencia in a truly entertaining match.
It was actually the 52nd minute, which saw the first of the five goals of the game and it came from Valencia striker Rodrigo. Rafa laid the ball off to the striker following a free kick and he blasted the goal into the top right corner.
With Dortmund fans encouraging their side, it took just 33 seconds to bring the scores level once more. a cross from the fullback Park, found former Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths who headed home from literally a yard or two out and the scores were tied once more.
A swift and furious counter-attach started by Bruma, was ended by Bruma when he latched onto a vicious delivery from Erik Durm on the opposite wing, to poke the ball past the keeper and turn the game on its head.
Then Mehmet Topal had the worst 10 minutes of football seen for a while, he firstly blasted a penalty miles high and even further wide. But just 10 minutes later, on the 71 minute mark, the midfielder somehow managed to header the ball into his own net from a corner making it 2-2.
But a great piece of skill from the winger Bruma, allowed him to find Paul Pogba, fresh from the bench, who swivelled and picked out Aubameyang with a delightful pass. The striker dutifully slotted the ball over the onrushing keeper and brought home all three points.
Leverkusen VS Dortmund 0-2
A rather effective and strong performance from Dortmund, while not being superb as a team, they allowed the home side no chances of their own and their superior individual was enough to create two goals on the day.
A fine pass from Aubameyang to find Bruma, saw the winger shot superbly saved. But as Bean explained to the press many times, he trained his players to always attack the ball no matter what, it was this intent that saw Mkhitaryan get to the ball first and toe poke the ball past an out of position keeper.
This time it was a swift counter-attack which saw the second and final goal of the game. Castro ended up with the ball on the near side, before floating a long cross towards the back post, it picked out Mkhitaryan with ease and the Armenian winger chipped it over the onrushing keeper.
It wasn't the prettiest of games, but Dortmund will be happy with the three points all the same.
Plauen VS Dortmund 1-3, DFB-Pokal
A second string side besides Bruma, took to the field yet again this month, as this fixture presented Bean with a chance to keep his squad players content.
But the side from the sixth tier of German football shockingly took the lead against Dortmund, a long punt down field from the home sides keeper, found striker Noel Dunker (what a name I know) who managed to round Sam Johnstone in goal and take the lead for the home side.
But just 15 minutes later, Moritz Leitner picked out Bruma in the area with pin point precision and the winger who had been in fine form thus far in his stint as Marco Reus replacement, picked out the bottom corner with ease.
Moritz Leitner was again the key player for the second goal, his original cross was blocked well but with his second chance he was able to put the ball in the path of Shane Long who first time blasted the ball home.
The game was a tough one to call for most of the second half, as Dortmund dominated but couldn't find a third goal and the home side, looked on in hope at the fact they were still only one goal away.
In the end however, Dortmund were able to secure the expected victory, as Bruma scored again, this time a wonderful individual goal, to win the game for the visitors.
The winger was found in acres of space on the near side of the 16 yard box, he skinned his man and curled it into the far corner before running off to celebrate with the away fans.
Dortmund VS Schalke 2-0
The fiercest rivalry in Germany according to some and it was back yet again. Schalke were struggling for form in the last five games, despite their strong start to the season.
With the advantage of being at home and their visitors poor form, Dortmund fans were expectant of three points. The home side did not disappoint.
The away side, set up to counter-attack and as a result very little of note occurred in the first half until the 30th minute. A wonderful pass from Bruma, found Jorge on the opposite flank and the fullback who was able to pick out Aubameyang with a first time cross and fittingly so, the striker thundered in a first time volley to take the lead and send the fans into raptures.
The second goal was set up by Mario Fernandes on the opposite wing as he was given all day to pick out Aubameyang in the centre of the box, his cross fizzed across the face of goal and Aubameyang who did appear offside, turned it home at the far post.
The only sour note for Dortmund was that José Giménez was sent off for a brutal and intentional elbow to the face of Sebastian Haller when contesting for a header.
Valencia VS Dortmund 2-3
Another thrilling match but three points that confirmed qualification already for Dortmund. The match was marred by Bruma going down with an injury that Bean confirmed will rule him out for at least three months.
It was the opposite winger in Mkhitaryan who opened the scoring, volleying home a delightful cross by Mario Fernandes after a series of passes from the Dortmund side, tiring out the Valencia defenders.
Leigh Griffiths continued to stun the Champions League neutral fans, as he scored yet another goal so far this tournament. An amazing through ball by Ruben Neves was exactly where Griffiths needed it to be, to run onto it and blast it into the near top corner with venom.
A Dortmund collapse gave the home fans confidence however as an added time goal in the first half, courtesy of Paco Alcacer header at the near post followed by a 69th minute equaliser from Danilo, again another header, saw Bean shaking his head on the sidelines.
But just one minute later, Aubameyang pulled off a moment of magic, as he found the top right corner with such velocity the ball is barely visible as it flies in.

Of course I am delighted with this month, it was truly exceptional, it would have been a 100% if it wasn't for that 93rd minute goal we conceded in the opening game. I am particularly delighted with the performances of Aubameyang and we go from strength to strength.
