Wow, a big opportunity here. But do you really want to move on having built so much here with the potential to push Dortmund next season. A tough one for sure!
It would be a fantastic opportunity but I do think there's a project which Bierofka will be unable to leave behind. We'll see!

Sampaoli Appointed As Dortmund Manager

Experienced Argentinian Jorge Sampaoli has been named Borussia Dortmund manager
• Sampaoli becomes the fifth manager at Borussia Dortmund in five years
• Dortmund are expected to give Sampaoli a large transfer budget to improve the squad
• Bierofka will continue with current role with no other clubs reportedly interested in the manager
After many rumours circling around the managerial position at Borussia Dortmund, the club have agreed to terms with 62-year-old Jorge Sampaoli to see him take over as manager of the club.
Borussia Dortmund fans are split about the new managerial appointment with many believing the experience of Sampaoli will assist them in their upcoming campaign but believing Bierofka to be a talented manager.
“I have already commenced planning for the role before being appointed, so I will begin to meet everyone and continue to learn about the players and the club.” said Sampaoli. “I truly believe I can bring the club back to its former glory and compete for the Bundesliga title this season.” he added.
“To take the reins of a club the size of Borussia Dortmund would have been an incredible opportunity, but they chose to go in another direction.” said 1860 Munich manager Daniel Bierofka. “The Borussia Dortmund situation is now in the past, my concentration is now on improving the 1860 Munich squad for the upcoming season.” he added.
With the summer transfer window approaching, clubs across Europe are prepared to enter the market to improve their squads with pundits predicting a record amount of spending to occur before the start of the season.
tedbro20: Happy to at least have such a high profile club show interest in my services.
Tango & Jack: The grocery stores in Dortmund certainly aren't on the same level as those in Munich.
Wolf, Justice, TheLFCFan & ScottT: I didn't have to make the decision but leaving would have been an incredibly tough decision to make.

A good manager coming in for them. Let's hope you can get a result against them to show who the better manager is
Sounds like Bierofka has a slight bit of regret in his statement about missing out on the job. Glad to see him continue the adventure with 1860 though!
Part of me wishes you'd been offered the job, just to see how Bierofka would've handled the jump to a club with much higher expectations. But at the same time... 1860 is your baby, so it'd be incredibly tough to leave too. Now that the Dortmund position has been filled, you can focus on the off-season and getting ready for a European adventure!
Sampaoli was my bitter rival in my save in the Brazilian league. Very entertaining to play against
I wonder if Bierofka's focus has shifted now that he's had his head turned. Could this be the beginning of the end of his time in Munich?
Oof, that's a shame. But it'll be interesting to see how much further Bierofka can bring 1860! And Sampaoli will surely bring some entertaining football to Dortmund!
I guess that means a decision was made for you which makes things easier I guess. Unfortunate in some ways but means you are able to continue this project!
