Saints Thrash Trotters In Thriller
Bolton were favourites to win the game against Southampton but the Saints upset the odds and pulled off a magnificent display in a 7-3 win over the home side. Nigel Reo-Coker put the home side ahead after quarter of an hour but Billy Sharp equalised fifteen minutes later. Rickie Lambert then ended his goal drought with a header past Jussi Jaaskelainen but Roland Juhasz made the scores level going into half time. It seemed like Southampton were playing a different XI to the one they were playing in the first half and Adam Walker's tactical substitution of bringing Ched Evans on for Billy Sharp was a stroke of genius. Yaya Sanogo slid in just after half time to put Saints back in the lead and Hogan Eprahim then extended the lead with a header thanks to Ched Evans cross. Welshman Evans then got a goal five minutes later and then got his second after only 75 minutes. Ivan Klasnic missed a penalty but made up for his error by scoring three minutes later to make the score 6-3 but Eprahim then ended the rout with another header and put Saints up to 15th in the league.
