The next update is due very soon. Enjoy.
2013-01-25 07:49#78791 Sammmm : What a player, a transition to striker maybe for Shelvey?:P

It would be an interesting idea but I don't think he would boast the qualities as a striker to be playing up front, especially in Champions League games. His future is solely stepping into the big shoes that Gerrard will surely leave behind.

Thanks for reading.

Changes at Anfield

Manager Disappears

As the keen avid readers of this story would have seen recently, I decided to take a break from this story and move onto a different one. I took a turn at managing FC Barcelona which was fun but if I am honest, anyone can win with FC Barcelona and I missed this story too much. This has resulted in me doing a big u-turn and returning to this story and it will be for the long term. I will take this opportunity to thank FMScout for the recognition in the story of the month competition and I hope the readers of this story will return and will enjoy it as much as I enjoy writing it. Now, lets get started!

Transfers Out: The Most Noteable

Jordan HendersonWolvehampton Wanderers
Details of transfer: A straight up bid of £14.25million was paid and accepted. It was a difficult decision to make as Henderson impressed me more than I thought he would but I thought that was a good amount of money to get back, and that it could be invested elsewhere.

Daniel Agger Manchester City
Details of transfer: A bid of £14millon was accepted but not with a lot of deliberation and scouting of replacements for quite a long period of time. He will be sorely missed at the heart of the Liverpool defence but I also don’t think it will take that long to move on.

Martin SkrtelFC Bayern
Details of transfer: A bid of £13.25million was accepted and this was the toughest decision of the transfer market. I didn’t think I would make such drastic changes to the defensive setup so soon but it was an impulse accepting of the bid; I really hope I don’t regret letting both Agger and Skrtel go (especially for relatively low transfer fees).

Yassin BenziaFC Schalke 04
Details of transfer: Season long loan. Benzia managed 3 goals in 13 appearances last season which is not too bad to say he was lower down the ranks compared to Borini and Suarez. The experience playing abroad will do him the world of good and I am sure he will come back a better player.

Samed YesilHuddersfield Town
Details of transfer: Sold for £1.5million. Yesil was never going to have the potential to break into my first team so it was time for him to move on.
Transfer income: £43.5million

Staff In and Out

Colin Pasco was let go from his role of assistant manager. Pascoe is not blessed with the best attributes for the position and I felt the club was in need of a change. I needed to bring in someone who has a good level of discipline, motivation, defending and determination in order to help the younger players develop. I decided to bring in Mauro Tassotti to fill the void and I am looking forward to working with him and seeing what he can bring to Anfield in terms of helping the club achieve its next goal; this has to be the Champions League.
Nice signings m8. It's great that the story is back and you deserve your nomination for the story of the month :)

I hope that Varane and Papadopoulos will do better for you than for me and I'm sure you will get the best of them. The other signings are also great. Good Luck ;)

I have to admit that the changes are drastic so it will take a long time for these signings to settle. The hard decision will be deciding who are my starting centre backs are.

Thank you for the kind comments and for reading.

Aims and Ambitions

Squad Development

As far as I am concerned now, there will be no need for me to purchasing any players for at least the next two seasons. The players who have been brought are young, experienced and will create the new back bone to the team due to the departures of Daniel Agger, Martin Skrtel, Jamie Carragher and I am quietly confident that Steven Gerrard won’t last much longer. The squad now has a wealth of depth and options and a good sense of competition for places which is vital if we are going to be successful. I am intending on winning competitions, including the Premier League title (again) so any money earned from winning these competitions will go to the development of the club or towards to paying off the clubs’ debts. The stadium, training and youth facilities are already being expanded and developed but I am sure any money we earn from playing can go towards developing them further. It could turn into an exciting couple of seasons at Anfield.

World Wide Recognition

It is going to be no small feat but I want to get this club, my beloved reds, back to the top of world football, not Europe, the world! The mind set I am in now means that I will only feel that this has been achieved once my team is up and amongst the likes of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Once I am in the top three then to me that means job completed and I will join the likes of Bob Paisley and Bill Shankly as one of Liverpool FC’s greatest ever managers. How will this be achieved? Our first step is to retain the Premier League title and also this season, we have to win the Champions League and bring it back home to Anfield.
Splash the cash ;) heheheh. Coutinho is good mate and he is worth all that money, to the last penny. POGBA ON A FREE?!! GREAT SIGNING and get someone to tutor his ass! Nice assistant manager btw. The best perhaps? Anyways good luck with the CL, but I doubt you need it :D!

Papdoupulous is a fabulous signing. He made a great captain for me and led all of England in match rating for me in just 2014. He is a rock in the back. Coutinho and Pogba are grat signings too. I think you will be able to win the champions league this year and show Man U who the real winners are :D
We had to go out and spend the cash as I wanted to make big changes at the club. Did I over spend? I don't think I did and got good players with fantastic potential for very reasonable transfer fees. He is a damn good assistant manager and you can tell the feedback he gives him is more accurate and clear than that Pascoe gave me during the match. Thanks for reading.

He is set to be a brilliant player and he is definitely a player for the future especially as he is so young. He could even end up as a future captain of the club. I couldn't believe I got Pogba for free and I had been keeping an eye on Coutinho since the start of the second season but couldn't quite afford him. Oh how times change. Thanks for reading.

im really looking forward to seeing Pogba :D been watching Juventus alot recently irl and he looks boss man, hopefully he'll be a beast for you :D great sigings all round but love Pogba :D

Well speaking of Pogba he has just gone and scored an absolutely beauty of a goal against FC Bayern. He has such good potential and I am tempted to get Steven Gerrard, while he is still at the club, to tutor him. I wouldn't complain if Pogba became even half the player that Gerrard has been.

Results

A perfect 100% start to the season which started in terrific form against Manchester City in the Community Shield. It is a trophy that I don’t care too much about but when it involves playing against a close rival you can’t help but smile when it goes your way. I did feel sorry for Daniel Agger who made his Manchester City debut against us and did miss the penalty which signalled our win in the penalty shootout. The league results have been brilliant and it was nice to carry on our good form against City and get a good 1-0 at their stadium. A good start so let’s see if we can continue this form into the next month.
