Good start mate!

Normally, I wouldn't replace Stevie or Carra unless they retire out of respect, even if they're not playing regularly, but it's your choice :P

Like Rookie said, don't sell Shelvey. I sold him to Swansea in 2013 and by 2016 he had become a big success with Chelsea.

Henderson is a 50-50. He didn't do so well for me, but if you play him right he might be able to produce magic for you. :)

I just won't be playing Carragher. Yes he will be on the bench but I rarely, if ever, change my two starting centre backs. Therefore he won't be on the pitch as much as Skrtel who I think is the commanding centre back for Liverpool now so the vice-captaincy recognises that.

I intend on keeping Shelvey and giving him as much game time as possible and not just cup games but big ties as well. Henderson I am unsure of. I think he could do well but I am not confident of this. Only time will tell on that player.

Youngsters Loaned Out: The Most Noteable

I loaned Flanagan to Leeds and Robinson to Burnley in my first season too if I recall :P keep it up.
To be honest, I would have kept Jack Robinson. I've found that him and Seb Coates rally start to show their best in the second half of the first season. They improve dramatically from then on.

I can understand why you would keep him but I plan on using Enrique as often as possible. I have also liked Danny Wilson and will tend to play him if and when Enrique needs a rest. I think the constant first team football will do Robinson the world of good instead of being on the bench for Liverpool every so often.

Thanks for reading.

I was quite impressed that two quite high profile clubs came in for them. They should be getting a lot of first team football at both clubs so that can only be positive.

Europa League Play-Off Draw

First Leg

Second Leg

Europa League Group Draw

I think that the draw for the next round of the competition could have been a lot kinder. The away games are going to be particularly tricky and this it is even more difficult as I intend on using these games to play the younger players. It is a competition I plan on taking seriously but I don’t want to have to rely on the more regular first team players like Gerrard and Suarez to come on and save the day every match. The trip I think to Russia to play Dinamo Moscow will be the most challenging. English teams don’t have a great history of going to Russia and coming away with three points.

Capital One Cup Third Round Draw

Well after the disappointment of the draw for the Europa League I had been hoping to come against a “smaller club” to give the team a bit of rest bite. However the footballing Gods did not have provide my team with that bit of luck needed. We face a very difficult away tie to the English champions. Despite this I do intend on playing some of the young players to give them a chance against a big team which has a lot of big name players. It isn’t a competition I plan on taking seriously and this is a mutual feeling from the board of directors. A cup run would be great but an early exit may be a blessing.

The Match

I couldn’t care less about this result and I have told my players the exact same thing. Man City did not hold back in their selection with Tevez and Aguero both starting; they were in it to win it. Not being in this competition will free up a bit of time in the busy schedule for the players to recuperate and be fresh for more important games than the Capital One Cup. Of course I will eat my words if we don’t win anything come the end of the season.

All in all that first month went according to plan. To have made a good start in the Premier League was the top priority and we managed to do this comfortably. I have however upset the team with a less than motivating team talk so I currently have to win round some of the big players such as Reina and Suarez. Despite their grievances they did put in some good performances. Going into the next round of the Europa League is a bonus and I do think we could do well in that competition.

Player of the Month - Steven Gerrard

Good set of results there :) Take care of Gerrard, you don't want him injured!

The second month of the season got off to an incredible start with the 5-5 draw against Tottenham. You just couldn’t write what happened. I was extremely impressed how the team came back from being 3-1 down; it was just frustrating how the team could not hold onto a lead. The rest of the month went smoothly in the Premiership. We can ignore the result against Manchester City. I’m already looking forward to the next month which includes a tricky game against LOSC, Dinamo Moscow and a visit from Manchester United.

Review

At the end of the day I couldn’t criticise a single one of the players who featured in the match. They put in a cracking effort but it just came down to a lapse of concentration when it mattered most. The team deserved more and if anyone deserved it the most it was Steven Gerrard. He scored a couple of belting free kicks which just proved he has still got it and he will be able to compete against the top teams for a couple more seasons to come. The team are still trying to form a mutual understanding of how we need to play and I am confident that once we do this then the team will win the majority of the games we play. Sir Alex has reacted as if he has already won the league title but every club is some way of doing this. If we continue to play with this fighting spirit then there is no reason why, if results go our way and we get a bit of luck, that we cannot be involved in the fight for the title.
Owch, unlucky to lose out in the 92' minute :p
