2012-12-29 16:03#74362 TheFMBeast : Will Rabello be in your first team plans, and is there a future option for joe cole to leave the club?

Rabello is simply in to provide back up to the starting 11. I signed him on loan with his first team role being set as back up. He has played a couple of games and hasn't contributed a whole lot but he is only young. I think I will purchase him at the end of the season as I have the optional £1milion buy out clause as part of the loan deal.

Joe Cole will be gone come the start of the new season, well, that is the hope. He is on ridiculous wages and has only played once under my leadership due to the fact he is useless. I had tried offering him to clubs for £0 but because of his high wages nobody wanted to go any further than making the bid. If the club's finances are going to improve the likes of Joe Cole need to go. I won't be worried about getting a replacement for him in the team, maybe Rabello could step into his boots.
Yeah, good move by you there! And your story has been brilliant so far!

Thank you Beast. I still cannot decide who else to move on as Henderson and Downing, who would be everyones favourites to be sold as soon as the season ends, have had a decent season respectively. This is going to make the summer transfer window very interesting.

Expectations

Ever since the Paisley and Shankly days there has been a huge weight of expectations put onto Liverpool FC. When the two Anfield legends retired the club were just expected to continue the long tradition of football domination. The club were expected to just carry on winning trophies and exceeding all expectations and media predictions. I personally feel that this expectation, at present, is too much of a burden on the current crop of players (especially the youngsters). I feel that everyone associated with the club needs to lessen expectations and allow the team to rebuild and in time, return to the glories of yester year.

The Board of Directors have given me the chance to change my expectations at the start of the New Year. At the beginning of the season I had decided that the club would be able to retain Europa League football for another season and nothing more. However, the club have made a more than impressive start to the season which I think has surprised everyone. Despite this I think that it would be foolish to increase those expectations. Those high expectations which I think are damaging the club in “real life”.

As you can see I get gain nothing from increasing the expectations; the only thing I do get is pressure. I will end up with the pressure on me to achieve ludicrous expectations. Therefore I have decided to keep the expectations set as Europa League qualification and maybe next year, if this current season carries on the positive way it has started, then we can discuss the next step to get back to the past glories.
Very good story so far. Good luck and keep it up :)

Glad you're enjoying it. Thankfully I have the next 4-6 posts all lined up waiting to be added but will keep everyone waiting to see how the season finishes. It is going to be tense to say the least.

Don't worry about it James your story is brilliant, and is Borini and shelves progressing well for you?

Borini was very slow to get started but does appear to be settling a lot more. His progress was hindered a lot due to a long absence due to injury (5-6 weeks out).

Unfortunately Shelvey is finding it hard to break into the team as Gerrard, Sahin and Lucas have formed a good understanding. I know I should play Shelvey more to help him get better, which he is capable of being, but I don't want to disrupt the harmony of the midfield. I don't intend on trying to sign Sahin come the end of the season so maybe Shelvey will get his chance next season.

February

Results

A much better month and it was nice to get back to winning ways in the league. Yes the home leg against Dinamo was disappointing but the whole team was changed so the result was a fair reflection on the team put out and how they performed. The results in the league have had little effect on who will win the title so will have to wait until the latter end of the season where the results will become more important.

Player of the Month – Fabio Borini

Good month mate :) hope that Borini will stay strong!
Good Results. Good luck against Marseille, keep it up ;) !

Cheers Or. Borini has been an inspiration on the left wing (Rookie's advice) and has started to link up well with Suarez. Long may it continue.

Marseille will be a tricky tie but I am confident that the team will play well and we will dispatch of them and move onto the next round.

Thank you both for reading.
