Capital One Cup Semi Final

FA Cup Fourth Round

January

Results

A fantastic month made up of fantastic performances and results. The three games against Manchester United and Chelsea FC surely signal our intent on winning the title and not being afraid to take it to the big teams. Neither of the teams came close to beating us with us dominating on all statistics in the three games. I have managed to continue to introduce younger players into the side in the cup games. Mark Fisher, a youngster, who has poor potential ability (1 star) managed to get himself two goals in the FA Cup against Bolton Wanderers and then 1 in the following game against Aston Villa. The season is just getting better and better and unfortunately the next one will be just as tough as the Champions League comes back into play.

Player of the Month – Edinson Cavani

Manager of the Month

Transfer News

Yassine Benzia Paris Saint-Germain
Details of Transfer: Yassine will be going on loan for the rest of the season and PSG will be paying the club £500k for the remaining months of the season. Yassine just doesn’t seem to have settled into English football so he has the remainder of the season to show he can play at a high level in France or else he will be shown the door come the end of the season.

I'm almost completely sure me or someone else asked you for your tactic(s). You've done so well on this save and story. I don't remember if you've posted it(or where), so could you please upload it to the site, post it here or direct me to where you've posted it? :D

Also, I'm your 26,000th viewer. Congratulations James!

Edit: I know that you've posted a picture of the roles of the 4-2-3-1 formation but I'd like to look under the hood i.e what team instructions you've used, and if you could also, just state the main changes you've made in the player instructions? Thanks :D Do you still use the 4-1-4-1 that you used in the cup final vs United? (you won 4-0)

I am going to make you wait until the end of the current season (I am currently in January) as one, it will make you carry on reading, and two I plan on writing a big update about the future of the team and tactics will be a feature of that. I still do use the 4-1-4-1 formation but it purely depends on the opponents. It is a formation that is only ever used away from home.

Thanks for reading.

Edit: and thank you all for the 26,000 mark having been achieved and surpassed...onto the grand 30k mark here we go!
Great results as of late :)

And you deserve that milestone too :P

Things are quite easy at the moment, well they were until this next month which I will post about later on today. Despite things going so well I am not getting bored like I thought I would so this story will continue for a long time yet. Thanks for reading Pauker.

Capital One Cup Final

I have made it clear in the past that the Capital One Cup is not a competition I expect the club to take seriously. This basically means that if we didn’t progress into the final then I wouldn’t be too concerned; I wouldn’t be expecting a huge drop in morale and for us to start declining as a squad if we exited the competition at an early stage.

On the other hand my determination to get Liverpool FC to the top of the team’s hall of fame, and on a personal level, I want to reach the top of the English and European hall of fame. This means that the club need to win every competition that we enter and I want us to be winning them well. We have put in a number of good performances in the lead up to the Capital One Cup final and we are deserving of our place in the final. In recent games against Chelsea we have done extremely well and dominated matches from start to finish. The club are in fact going on an extremely good run in all competitions and dominating games in terms of all statistics. I am heading into this match with the aim of retaining the cup for the fourth season in a row which will give us an automatic European spot that we rightly deserve.

Team Line Ups

I didn’t want to hold back in this game and wanted to make sure I put out one of the strongest sides I had at my disposal. Jonjo Shelvey is in a rich vein of form and deserved to start in front of Steven Gerrard who is winding down to the end of his Liverpool career. I expect Shelvey to become one of the best midfielders in the Premiership and it is on the big stages that he needs to be showing off his huge potential. Erik Lamela is in sublime form also and is becoming one of the first names on the team sheet. I am still tending to rest him as I want his career to last as long as possible and I think give him some matches off will ensure that.

Match Result

As you can see from the statistics this was a game that we dominate across the board. As a club we know we can go into any game and dominate in possession and it is very rare for us not to finish a game with well above 50% possession in our favour. We peppered the Chelsea goal with shots and it paid off with some great finishes by Edinson Cavani who is one of my best signings and has definitely lived up to his transfer fee (£30 million). Papadopoulos is an exciting talent and it was great to see he him help himself to a good goal to get us underway. It will be interesting to see if the side can retain the cup for a fifth season in a row next season

Winning this trophy has helped push me up two places in the European hall of fame. I am particularly proud to see that I have surpassed the achievements of Arsene Wenger and not too far behind legends such as Pep Guardiola and Brian Clough.
Nice going mate. You will be there up top over Ferguson in no time. YNWA!
You're really doing great m8.
Keep it up and I'm sure you will top the hall of fame :)
