Ajax- Total Football
An Ajax Story
A Statician's POV
Ajax are a very young club, at an average age of just 22.53. There average player value is the highest in the league, 3.5 million pounds per player. When It comes to gameplay, Ajax are good passers and have great first touch, 3rd and 2nd in the league respectively, but when It comes to Leadership and Aggression, AJax rank just 12th. Kenneth Vermeer has been a great handler in goal, best in the league, but when It comes Kicking, he's much poorer. Ajax are below average when It comes to defense, ranking no higher that 6th in any of the defensive categories and ranking 15th in heading and just 11th in Tackling. If I were Frank Rijkaard, that's where I would be spending my money! Ajax are a fast team, and proficient in finishing. perhaps due to Siem De Jong, who leads Ajax with 18 goals in just 68 shots on goal. The much hyped Enzo Perez is not such a great player when It comes to getting shots on target, just 12 out of 36 were on target,so I expect to see his goal total start to increase and a slower rate. When It comes to defense, Brice DjaDja has not made any mistakes leading to goals, where Toby Alderwierld has made 4, the highest on the team. Ajax need to let in less goals if they want to make a title run and oust PSV.

January/February Update
A great month for me, we won almost all of our games, starting with a 2-0 win against Roda JC. Unfortunately, I dropped 3 points against FC Groningen away. We seem to be having problems with consistency away, we sometimes cant just hit our stride in those games. I'm looking into playing less attacking and more control in these games, to prevent counter goals being scored on us. We bounced back in a big way against RKC in the Dutch Cup, with a 5-1 win. We will play Roda JC in the semifinals. We continued to play good football, with a huge 4-0 win over AZ in which Siem De Jong scored a hat trick. Then, the huge game against Man U, at home, Champions League knockout stages football. Christan Eriksen struck early for our side, and just a couple of minutes later, Rafeal got sent off. I changed to a more attacking mentality, but that didn't pay off. In the 47th minute, Antonio Valencia ran into the box and struck the ball into the top corner, giving Man U a crucial away goal. Thankfully for us, in the 83rd minute, former Man U man Anderson scored a rebound to give us a 1 goal lead heading into Old Trafford, where I'll look to play a counter game. We knocked off Zwolle 3-0 and proceeded to win 1-0 against Vitesse away, a huge result for us that put us into second. We continued our good form against Heracles, where we won 3-1. After that game, we improved to 55 points, just 2 points behind league leaders PSV.
Our player of the month is......................
Miralem Sulejmani, who scored 3 goals and had 5 assists in the 8 games we played.

An Ajax scout's point of view
Ajax have a couple of potential targets in mind. The biggest player on our Shopping List is Manchester United striker Angelo Henriquez, who we're looking to target on loan for next season. The Chilean Striker is a great finisher and is a physical beast. We're also looking into the possibility of signing Pedro Paulo, a striker for Cruziero. Another young good finisher, who could be secured for around 1 million pounds. Otavio, a brilliant 18 year old AMC who is a good Dribbler, Crosser, and Header. Frank Rijkaard speaks highly of this man, and says he could be one of the best players on our club in the future, if he is signed. Ferando and Rafeal are Defensive targets with Fernando being an all around type of DMC. Rafeal is a great keeper, but probably out of reach when it comes to finance. As you can see, we're looking to bring in lots of Brazilians, as we feel that they have a lot of great young players that can be brought up in our State of the Art Youth facilites. We're particularly interested in Otavio, and I believe that Frank has made a bid of about 3 million pounds for him. It remains to be sen whether this bid will be accepted.
