2013-03-03 23:48#83359 The Madridista : Story Stop

I'm sad to announce that this story is on hiatus now that the BPL Chairman game is going on. When the window is done, updates will come again :P

The window is done. I'm waiting for the next update :P
March Update

A really really tough month for us. We started off with a lackluster draw against against Utchret, in which we blew a 1-0 lead. Then, in the crucial game against United at Old Trafford, we got absolutely crushed, a 5-1 loss. The morale of our team plummeted after having such a good chance to go through to the quarter finals. We rebounded well against Willem II, where we scored 3 goals, Mirlem Sulejmani scoring 2. Unfortunately, our discipline problems caught up to us against Heereneeven, where we blew a 2-0 lead after Christian Poulson got sent off in the first half. These losses are really frustrating and we need to find away to limit the red cards, and that means fines! We can't be dropping easy points like this. We responded well, with a 2-0 win against VVV, but this came at a price. Enzo Perez is out for about a month, which means we'll have a weakness at AMR for the coming month, which contains a crucial game against PSV. Speaking of PSV, they currently are ahead of us in the table by 7 points, and with just 4 league games to go, it's going to be hard to overcome that deficit. We have an easy game against Roda JC in the Dutch Cup, and if we manage to win that, we move on to the finals. That is a trophy that we must win or I may lose my job!

Our player of the month is..............

Christian Eriksen, who had an assist and 2 goals this month.

As you see guys, the story is back on, so expect regular updates from here on out. :)
great story, good update, unlucky with the results there but I'm sure you'll bounce right back
Bad result against Heerenveen but great story!
Rudd Bloemhuevel's POV(Youth Coach)

Here at Ajax, we just brought in our Youth Canidates. The player with the most potential has to be Erik Yildirim, a Right Back. Erik is a great tackler, who also has decent technique. He has good pace for a young player and has pretty good acceleration as well. Whenever the ball is in the final third, he takes throws. Erik is a brilliant long thrower who can maybe contribute to the team with some long throw assists. Refik Karaman is a nice attacking midfielder who can pass with skill and create chances at ease. Braco Vander Boomen is a powerful Defensive Midfielder, who great passer who can also take free kicks. These 3 players are the future of our team I believe. Frank Rijkaard is also interested in signing some new youth players from the Americas, especially from Brazil.
Those 3 are gonna be the new generation of Ajax legends? ;)
Dat skin.

I expected you to be doing better than PSV to be honest :P
Unlucky results but Eriksen is BEAST!!
Very Unlucky with results but you WILL bounce back
April/May Update

We ended the season with one last win, but that wasn't enough to save ourselves from tragedy. We started off the month with a good win against Roda JC in extra time to progress to the finals of the dutch cup. The next game was in the dutch league, where we beat RKC in a 3-2 thriller in which we scored in the 84th minute. Our good run of form would continue against NEC, where the team score 4 great goals in a confident win. Then, it was the title deciding match against PSV Eindhoven away. We started the game off very well with a brilliant goal from Siem De Jong. PSV equalized and seemed to have the upper hand until Anderson blasted the ball into the back of the net on a set piece. PSV equalized again though. Then, the unthinkable happened, Enoh was send off for a bad tackle. PSV exploited the weakness in out midfield to score 2 more late goals. We had lost the title. We still had a competition to play in though, the finals of the Dutch Cup against Feyenoord. We had the upper hand and we were up 2-1 until the 90th minute, when Feyenoord scored off a lucky rebound. We took the game all the way to Pk's, where we would eventually end up losing 4-2. We played Feyenoord next in the league and won 4-2, but that was a meaningless fixture and we finished the season trophyless.

Our player of the month is..........................

Ryan Babel, who scored 3 goals and assisted 4 goals this month.

End Of Season update coming soon after POV update
A PSV Fans Point of View

We did it, we won the title and beat our rivals Ajax! What a glorious run! Ajax came to our home, and we dominated them in every way possible, possession, shots, and of course goals! Ajax really are not as good of a side as PSV. Their midfield is weak and they resort to violence to win matches. Their lucky that they are in the Champions League at all. Frank Rijkaard really needs to strengthen the midfield. Although some statisticians say that their Defense is weak, I believe that the midfield needs a new play maker. Andesron, Enoh, Poulson, and even Daley Blind have all been pretty poor for their side. I hear that Frank Rijkaard has signed a new contract with Ajax, which I think is good for their side. Maybe he can bring in some more gems, like he did with Enzo Perez. Until then, PSV will always be the best side in the Dutch League!
So close and yet so far but i expect better next season ;)
End Of Season Update

Not an awful season, but I expected more. We went trophyless in four competitions is which is really frustrating as we were so close to winning the league and cup.

This was my overall 4-2-3-1 tactic that I used in almost all of my games.

The Eredivisie was really exciting this year. PSV always seemed to have the lead, but there were moments when It looked like I would be the Champion of Holland. One of those moments was in mid December when I beat PSV to move just 2 points behind PSV. Inconsisity killed us, as in the next 2 road games after beating PSV, we dropped all of our points. Discipline was also a problem, we had more red cards than any other team in the Eredivisie. During good uns of form, we would ofter drop games we had the upper hand on when one of our players got sent off, like against RKC where we blew a 2-0 lead when Christian Poulson got sent off. In the last month of the season, PSV played us. If we won, we would have had the league all but locked up. If we lost, we would lose the league. In the 60th or so minute, the game was tied 2-2. If the game finished as It was, we would go on to eventually win the league on goal difference. Unfortunately, Enoh got sent off and our title hopes were over.

European Champions League

I was really proud of our performance in the champions league. We qualified out of a tough group that consisted of Juve, Arsenal, and Gladbach. The highlight of the group was beating Arsenal at home and drawing Juve at home. We showed in the group that we can beat some of the best teams in the world and that we deserved to be in the next round. Unfortunately, we drew United. We pulled off a brilliant 2-1 win at home, where Anderson scored against his former team. We couldn't keep our lead in England though, we ended up losing 5-1 in a tough game. The team still played very well considering we were playing UNITED! The eventual champions of Europe were Juventus.

Dutch Cup

We had a pretty easy route to the finals of the Dutch Up, beating the likes of NEC, RKC, and Roda JC by margins of at least 2 goals. We played against Feyenoord in the final, and we had a 2-1 league going into stoppage time in the 2nd half where they got an lucky goal. They would eventually end up winning the game in PK's to destroy our hopes of getting hands on any silverware this year.

Dutch Super Cup

The Dutch Super Cup was against PSV. We would score first with Ryan Babel but PSV would equalize and win in PK's in the first competitive game of the season for both sides.

This year, Brice DjeDje and Anderson joined Ajax for fees of 12.5 million and 4.7 million pounds respectively. Evaluations below

Brice DjeDje: Grade: B-

DjeDje was a pretty quality left back this year, who contributed on offense, scoring 1 goal and assisting 5 others. DjdDje's average rating was 7.26, which wasn't as high as I'd hoped it would be considering the amount that I payed for him. Thankfully, he limited his mistakes. He had no mistakes that led to goals this season, a great quality for a Right Back. I'd just like some better performances for a player so expensive.

Anderson: Grade: C

Anderson was an Ok midfielder, but he didn't produce as great performances as I hoped he would. Anderson scored 2 goals and had 4 assists, but didn't make as much of an impact on the game as I was hoping for. He came up big in Europe, where he scored a clutch goal against his former side Manchester Untied. On the whole though, his average rating was just 7.28, and I expected much more from a player from the BPL. Next year, his apps will be limited, as I have brought in a player too be named that plays his posistion.

My goals for next year!

Transfer Goals:

Shed some older deadweight
Buy a new star Center Midfielder

Competition Goals:

Win the Eredivisie
Win the Dutch Cup
Make it to the 1st Knockout Round of the Champions League

Financial Goals:

Make a profit of over 5 million pounds next year
Have the wage budget higher than the actual wages all year

Our player of the year is.............................

Siem De Jong, who recorded the most goals in the Eredivisie with 25 despite not starting at the beginning of the year
Told you de Jong would become a hit! Heheheh! I think that you can take the league title away from PSV the next season so go on!

Rijkaard brings in 2 new players

After finishing 2nd in the Eredivisie, Frank Rijkaard brought 2 new players to Ajax to try to bolster his squad.

The first is Italian Midfielder Andrea Poli. Poli is a class midfielder who is a brilliant passer of the ball. After Anderson had a poor season at Ajax, Rijkaard needed a star replacement and he got one in Poli. Last year at Sampdoria, Poli scored 3 goals and had 5 assists to go along with 3 Man if the match Awards. Hopefully for Ajax, he will top last year's performances. Poli does a lot off the ball, and he hopes that he can get into good positions to score this year. Poli moved to Ajax for 11.5 million pounds. When asked about this high price, manager Frank Rijkaard said this "The price was high, but I believe for a player of his caliber, It was the right move"

The second signing that Frank Rijkaard made, was to buy former Chelsea Attacking midfielder Marko Marin. Marin is a fast player, who is dealy on the ball. He shows outstanding agility on the ball, and can run through defenders with ease. Marin is a great depth player, who can play anywhere In the attacking midfield with ease. Marin struggled to get apps at Chelsea, but at Ajax, according to Frank Rijkaard, he will play. Frank Rijkaard told the press today that, " I'm really excited about our midfield in the future." "Imagine the midfield with Poli, Eriksen, Andersen (Lucas), and Fischer in 5 years." "It would be brilliant!" Marin moved to Ajax for a total of 7.5 million pounds.
