Europe Here We Are!

Here We Are! We've topped off the group, and now we're on the big stages, against the big teams. We have some tough fixtures in Europe coming up, playing PSV, and then possibly Dortmund, who will be a very tough team to play. Nevertheless I feel we can go all the way!

Knockout Round One: PSV Eindhoven

1st Leg: PSV 1-1 Rubin Kazan

4-1-2-1-2: Arluaskis, Cadu, Navas, Marcano , Ansaldi, Orbaiz , Ryazantsev, Eremenko, Tore, Rondon , Dyadyun

Subs on: None

Goals: Dyadyun (24)

MOTM: Marcano 8.4 (Kazan)

YES! It may only be a draw, but we have the away goal. This could be key, and will definitely spur the team on. PSV's loss of van Bommel due to injury in the last minute will hurt them in the second leg. We definitely have the advantage now!

2nd Leg: Rubin Kazan 2-1 PSV

4-1-2-1-2: Arlauskis, Cadu , Navas, Marcano, Ansaldi, Orbaiz, Ryazantsev, Eremenko, Tore, Dyadyun , Portnyagin

Subs on: None

Goals: Tore (58) Dyadyun (82)

MOTM: Dyadyun 7.9 (Kazan)

WE DID IT! Next round here we come. Conceding an early goal ruined the away goal opportunity, but two goals [with 10 men] led us to victory! However, we were helped by the opposition going down to 10 men, but we already grabbed the two goals by then. Dortmund here we come!

PaukerJ: Let's go for it! The draw was tough though, will be updated soon! I'm planning to win it this year, win the Champions League next year and fuck off somewhere else. :P
Brilliant interview there, and I would like to adopt it some point in my story if I get the chance, if you don't mind? :D

Nice updates as always Devil, you didn't get it for March but I think you're a really strong contender for April's SotM :) Keep it up!
2013-03-31 19:01#88753 Devil. : PaukerJ: Let's go for it! The draw was tough though, will be updated soon! I'm planning to win it this year, win the Champions League next year and fuck off somewhere else. :P
Win the CL next year? Sure! Fuck off somewhere? Lol, I'd stay at Rubin for some few seasons and establish them as a great team and then go to another team and buy their players.
Glenn: I'd be more than happy for use to use it in your story (after all, I just stole the idea from another website) :P And thanks, it means a lot. There are a lot of great stories on here, and I feel I am a long long way from being a contender yet, but just the suggestion means a lot. The last week has been an issue for the story though, with updates being minimal. However, with half term for the next two weeks, expect a lot of updates from now on. :P

Pauker: The Champions League is very ambitious, and I think that would take at least 5 seasons, so if it took around that time I would probably leave then, but yeah, I definitely want a few more seasons with Rubin (for now at least) :P I want to try and use the method of Malaga and Brighton for one season maybe, especially when the game kicks in abit more, but the legends that are ageing abit but still good enough at Russian league standard. ;)

Europe Here We Are Pt. 2!

This is the big one. We did PSV, but they are no match compared to Dortmund. I feel this is a game worthy of being the final. Dortmund are a brilliant team, and this could be a brilliant game. (Also, I know there have been a lot of big updates but I have more league fixtures soon and there wont be as many in the near future.)

Knockout Round Two: Borussia Dortmund

1st Leg: Rubin Kazan 3-1 Borussia DOrtmund

Boreham: Arluaskis, Sharonov, Navas, Marcano , Ansaldi, M'Vila, Ryazantsev, Eremenko, Tore, Rondon, Portnyagin

Subs on: None

Goals: Tore (45+1, 71) Rondon (51)

MOTM: Tore 9.2 (Kazan)

A GREAT WIN! This has really helped. Although we conceded the away goal, with the three goals we can try and just defend, and park the bus, in the second leg. Tore has played brilliantly, and although it won't look like great football in the next game, I feel this could be ours for the taking!

2nd Leg: Borussia Dortmund 0-0 Rubin Kazan

4-1-2-1-2: Ryzhikov, Cadu , Navas, Marcano, Kaleshin, M'Vila, Ryazantsev , Eremenko, Natkho, Dyadyun, Rondon

Subs on: Ururu, Kuzmin

Goals: None

MOTM: Navas 8.4 (Kazan)

Come on! Dortmund are done. After very nicely parking the bus [and chucking six in defence for the second half] we have made it through to the next round. A solid defensive performance prevented even the likes of Lewandowski, Reus, Gotze and Kuba from scoring. Come on you Kazan!
Fantastic results, Dortmund must have been the favourites to win it!

Capello: Orekhov Deserves Squad Role

http://f3.rubin-kazan.ru/img/news_2401.jpg

Russian national team manager Fabio Capello has publicly stated he belives that Rubin Kazan player Alexandr Orekhov deserves a role in the squad, leading many to believe a call-up to the national side it possible due to the recent form Alexandr has been in.

Orekhov, who signed for Rubin in 2008, is currently playing for the reserve side, but the 29 year old defender has recently become a star player for the side, featuring 7 times while scoring once, but gaining an average rating of 8.00, higher than any of the players in the first team, with Cesar Navas coming close with 7.99.

However, due to the success and teamwork built between Marcano and Navas in the centre of defence, it is hard for any central defenders to push for a first team place. It is believed Kanchelskis may give the defender a role on the bench, or at least in the senior side.

Review:

A solid month. With the excellent performances in Europe, while picking up maximum points in the league, March has been very successful. The 9 points will help alot, and I really feel we can go all the way for the Europa League. There is also the possibility of taking away all 4 trophies this year!

Player of the Month:

CADU

Cadu had a very solid month, in both the league and europe, meaning this month he just edged the player of the month award from the other defenders, who have played a massive role in this years success. Meanwhile Ivan Marcano took second, and in third was Cesar Navas.

April Fools!

http://90ish.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/DynamoStadium-overhead.jpg

Today Andrei Kanchelskis, manager of Rubin Kazan had a day filled with... mixed emotions.
He walked into his office to find a certain message.

In a display of incredible generosity, the Rubin board have decided to award you the sum in the region of £500M to spend on players and a new stadium.

Andrei was said to be delighted, not realising throgh out the day, until he checked his emails later on in the day after accepting the offer.

APRIL FOOL!! You didn't think we'd make things that easy for you, did you?

Andrei was said to be slightly annoyed at the practical joke, having already looked at ideas for a stadium and possible buys. However, the positive reaction from staff and players made him see the funny side of it, increasing the squad morale.
Great month Devil, too bad you don't have a new stadium :/ Keep up the good work and maybe you can go deep in the Champions League this year! :D

Review:

Not too bad in the league. The 5-1 win was epic, a brilliant performance by the team. With the fixture congestion from other tournaments, the other two games were obviously going to be tough. However, we picked up a point in very close games, which I'm fairly happy with. I can feel the trophy in our grasp now! I won't be doing a player of the month this month as there were more games in cups than the league.

Sharonov: I Want To Prolong My Career

http://f3.rubin-kazan.ru/img/news_3614.jpg

Roman Sharonov has announced his retirement from international football. Sharonov, now 36, only featured 8 times for his country, but there were suggestions Roman could be called up again, due to the increase in game time under the reign of Andrei Kanchelskis.

Sharonov has featured alot more since 2011, and his recent performances have meant Russian boss Fabio Capello was thinking of the possibility of a call-up. Roman has since announced his retirement in order to prolong his career at Rubin Kazan, stating the following.

Rubin are a changed club. Andrei can bring us success, and I feel I can help. I want to win, I want to win, and I want to win. A draw every now and then isn't too bad as well. No, I joke, but my international career is going nowhere, and I want to help Rubin Kazan become Russia's Finest.

It is believed Roman has announced his retirement after a chat with Rubin Kazan manager Andrei Kanchelskis.

Rubin Kazan's Cup Hopes

RUBIN KAZAN 2-0 CSKA MOSCOW

Russian Cup Quarter Final

4-1-2-1-2: Ryzhikov, Ansaldi, Marcano, Navas, Sharonov, M'Vila, Eremenko, Ururu, Dyadyun , Rondon, Fierro

Subs on: None

Goals: Fierro (19, 54)

MOTM: Fierro 8.9 (Kazan)

Carlos Fierro, who signed for Kazan in the winter transfer window, was unable to play in Europe or in the league, due to signing too late to be registered. However, Carlos was able to play in the Russian Cup, and so he did. Fierro made his debut (besides from friendlies) and made it one to remember. Fierro opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a wonder strike for 25 yards out. He then outshone all Moscow players, and scored again in the 54th minute, getting his double. Fierro won the man of the match award with a rating of 8.9.

Alan Dzageov, the once known 'Russian Messi' had his chance to get CSKA back into the game in the 67th minute with a penalty, but Sergei Ryzhikov managed to knock it wide, being the second Dzageov penalty he saved this season. With this brilliant win, Rubin Kazan are able to progress into the semi final, with teams much lower in the league than Kazan themselves.
