CSKA Moscow: We Meet Again

RUBIN KAZAN 1-0 CSKA MOSCOW

Europa League Quarter Final 1st Leg

4-1-2-1-2: Ryzhikov, Cadu, Marcano, Navas, Kaleshin, M'Vila, Eremenko, Ryazentsev, Natkho, Rondon, Dyadyun

Subs on: Ansaldi, Tore, Portnyagin

Goals: Rondon (2)

MOTM: Navas 9.0 (Kazan)

A fairly boring game to watch, with no real action or drama, but a good result for Rubin Kazan to kick off the quarter final. The header from Salomon Rondon, after a Bibras Natkho cross set the team up for a very defensive performance, happily taking a one goal advantage into the 2nd leg. The result is sure to hurt CSKA Moscow, who will be very annoyed at not being able to grab an away goal, meaning Rubin can take a big advantage into the next game, wanting to go all out for that all important away goal.

CSKA Moscow decided to go for a physical approach, which could be dangerous in the next leg, receiving 3 yellow cards throughout the game, with Kirill Nababkin, Vasily Berezutskiy and Keisuke Honda all picking up the warnings.

Fierro Has Been Missed

Kazan boss Kanchelskis has publicly stated he feels that the drama with Carlos Fierro [not being registered for the Russian League or Europa League] has affected the overall performance of the team.

Carlos Fierro has only featured a handful of times for the Russian side since his move from Mexican side Chivas in February for £4 million. Carlos has currently featured twice for the club, scoring three goals in these games.

Carlos featured against Boreham Wood in the winter tour, and scored 21 minutes into the game, and then grabbed another two against top side CSKA Moscow.

Rubin It In Their Faces!

CSKA MOSCOW 1-2 RUBIN KAZAN
AGG 2-2, RUBIN WILL ON AWAY GOALS

Europa League Quarter Final 2nd Leg

4-1-2-1-2: Arlauskis, Sharonov, Marcano, Navas, Ansaldi, M'Vila, Eremenko, A Eremenko, Tore, Rondon, Dyadyun

Subs on: None

Goals: Rondon (57)

MOTM: Berezutskiy 7.9 (CSKA)

In a close game, the only difference being the better start from CSKA Moscow, grabbing two goals in the first 25 minutes. Salomon Rondon made all the difference though, and took his impact with a goal in the first game, and scored another - the all important away goal. Both teams battled well, and the draw seemed to be the right result in a game too close to call.

There is no doubt CSKA Moscow will be annoyed at losing due to away goals, but many pundits, footballers and CSKA Moscow players will agree that the game should be a draw, but Rubin Kazan would edge the game slightly.

Ururu: We Have Kanchelskis To Thank

http://f2.rubin-kazan.ru/img/news_3917.jpg

Kazan youngster Luaj Ururu has told the Russian media that Andrei is the man to thank for the recent success of the club. Since the change of management, Rubin Kazan have won the Russian Super Cup, are in pole position to win the league, and are in the last stages of the Europa League and Russian Cup. Ururu met with journalists to say the following.

I would like to thank Andrei for his help at the club in recent times. He is the reason for our success, with his tactical mastermind and footballing supremacy. Althogh I came into the senior side two years ago, Kanchelskis was the first manager to play me, and he has had faith in me and played me multiple times, even in big games.

Andrei has helped us as a team, and we are happier than we have ever been together. The squad morale is so high at the moment. We are getting results, and Andrei has mastered the art of teamtalks, even though he wasn't the greatest at the start. With Andrei in charge, I see the Champions League as a reasonable target within the next 5 years.

Since the arrival of Andrei, Luaj has featured for the side 10 times, making 7 full appearances and 3 as a substitute.
Great update. Andrei Kanchelskis for the win :D

Extra-Time

After a brilliant comeback after a shocking defeat in the first leg, the Kazan's managed to grab the goals needed to take the game to extra-time. However, it was a fairly boring extra-time, with nothing happening goalwise, but drama unfolding the last minute of extra time. Tottenham midfielder Sandro recieved his second yellow, leading to a dismissal. Luckily, it occcured in the last minute and Sandro wasn't a taker on the list. Nevertheless, the event would shake the Spurs players.

Penalties

This was it. Just a few kicks from 18 yards out would decided which team would reach the final. Kazan had done the impossible, but could they go one step further?

TOTTENHAM - Emmanuel Adebayor - MISS

RUBIN KAZAN - Cadu - MISS

TOTTENHAM - Mousa Dembele - GOAL

RUBIN KAZAN - Alexey Eremenko - GOAL

TOTTENHAM - Jermaine Defoe - MISS

RUBIN KAZAN - Cristian Ansaldi - MISS

TOTTENHAM - Aaron Lennon - GOAL

RUBIN KAZAN - Igor Portnyagin - GOAL

TOTTENHAM - Gareth Bale - MISS

RUBIN KAZAN - Roman Eremenko - GOAL

Rubin Kazan win 3-2 on penalties

Success!

We did it. Rubin Kazan are in the final! A phenomonal performance by everyone got us here, and to top it off, Gareth Bale missed the last penalty for Tottenham. The joy from that is brilliant, but the joy from being in the final is a million times better! I'm so proud of the boys, they deserve every cheer they get now.
Lovely work Devil, I hate those Spurs! B)
Glenn: Aha thank you, I aim to please. :P

LJO200: I hate those Spurs too. Bale missing the last Spurs penalty just topped off the game big time. A very proud moment. ;)
Great work beating Spurs :)
Blue: It was tough, but it was worth it. I'm hoping to get a bit of money out of the success from the Europa League to spend on players, would really help - especially if I want to battle in the Champions League next year..

Amsterdam Here We Come

Rubin Kazan received the information they have wanted all year - the team they would play in the final. They had battled a long hard battle, but it had all paid off.

Lyon. Lyon are a top side, with the likes of Lisandro Lopez, Yoann Gourcuff and Jimmy Briand, who will certainly challenge the Russian side for victory. Kanchelskis released a statement about the game soon after the win against Tottenham:

I am so proud of the boys. They have tried hard, and they have won. They just have one more game to go. Personally, I feel Dortmund and Tottenham are better teams than Lyon, so we certainly have an excellent chance to win. I expect the trophy to be ours.

If we win the final, we celebrate all night. Bottles of champagne, cans of beer. We will dance through the night (except Yann, Yann cannot dance). Then, we may celebrate in the streets, finding some ladies and having some fun. Maybe some weed. That's the way to celebrate if we win. And if we lose? We do the same. Why? Because we won't lose. Haha, I laugh.

The humour and joking nature of Andrei just shows the squad harmony in Rubin Kazan, and how they all get on so well, even Yann M'Vila.
Except Yann, Yann cannot dance. Priceless B)
LJO: I think you double posted, just incase you want to delete one.. And I looked through the squad, he looked the best, or the worst.. ;)

Just a little notice to anyone following my story, I need to get 5 points from 4 league games in order to get automatic qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

Upgrades Galore!

http://www.sportstrainingcamps.co.uk/resources/SARDINIA+FOOTBALL+PITCH+2.jpg

Due to the recent success Kanchelskis has had at Rubin Kazan, a meeting with the board became very successful for Andrei, and the club.

The first upgrade that occurred was the improvement of the club's youth facilities. The upgrade is expected to cost £1,600,000. Work will be completed by November 2013.

Training facilities were also to be upgraded for Andrei Kanchelskis. Work would cost £1,500,000 and be be completed by October 2013.

The final change was the transfer percentage revenue for Andrei, being increased to 55%. This means Andrei can now buy bigger, and better players.
