Mattia Destro has been announced as the fourth signing for Rubin Kazan. Destro signed for an outstanding £11.5 million, and will be used as the main striker to replace Dyadyun, with Forlan and Fierro rotating on the bench.
Destro signed for Genoa the season before for half the value paid, but a successful loan spell at Roma led to Andrei capturing the superstar striker. The striker will receive around £60,000 a week, becoming one of the biggest earners at the club.
It is unlike Kanchelskis to spend a lot on one player, but with the departure of Dyadyun drawing closer and closer, a key striker was needed as a replacement.
Andrei Kanchelskis also announced four departures from the club. Oleg Kuzmin and Vitaly Kaleshin have both been released, Alexandr Orekhov joined Ural for £1 million, and Rubin-2 gained Evgeny Cheremisin on loan for the season.
