Glenn: Thanks Glenn. I know it's no where near your story, but I've never had a story or save as successful as this, so still not a bad starting point. I feel this is my first main save and story to get me noticed on the site, so not going too badly. Thanks again. :P

Zenit Contract Rejected

Finally, Andrei Kanchelskis has given the news all Rubin Kazan fans wanted to here - the contract at Zenit St Petersburg had been rejected. Zenit were keen to sign Andrei following the sacking of Spalletti at the end of the 2012/13 season, due to his success with Rubin Kazan after just one season.

Kanchelskis stated that he loves the club too much to leave. After speaking with players, the chairman and friends, Andrei decided it was not time to leave Kazan and find another job. The Rubin boss said how his next goal is to win the Champions League, and that he wouldn't leave the club until he did. Then he would think about other options.

It is believed he will soon a new contract immediately at Rubin Kazan, with his current contract expiring in less than two weeks now.
Good job Dev!
Glenn: I've looked at the squad and seen how much they developed, I can't leave my babies now! :P

Rubin Kazan have announced that Andrei Kanchelskis has been given a new contract following the possibility of a move to fellow Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg.

Kanchelskis joined Kazan on a 1 year deal in 2012, but after leading the club to an amazing quadruple, Andrei became wanted all around the world. Nevertheless, Rubin were able to retain the services of the Russian with a contract lasting 4 years until June 2017.

Rubin Kazan initially offered Kanchelskis £3,700 a week, but Andrei wanted more due to the success the previous season. He first asked for £4,500 a week, but after getting it rejected, both parties agreed on a wage of £4,000 a week.

However, Andrei has been given a boost in terms of the transfer window. Due to recent income, Kanchelskis was given a transfer budget of an amazing £24.96 million, with a £792 thousand wage budget.

This is it. The season is over, the parties are finished. We have one last thing to do as club this season. This is an event that will soon become known all over the world: The 2012/2013 Club Awards - The Rubin Kazan Way.

So, we start off with some of the most notable awards.

Manager's Player of the Year

Many players played well, and many could be in contention. However, for me, there is only one winner. The rock at the back, he is Cesar Navas.

Player's Player of the Year

Every player got one vote on who they believed deserved it, and surprisingly, four players were seperated by just four votes. However, the winner is Vladimir Dyadyun.

Fan's Player of the Year

Rubin supporters spokesperson announced the winner, and after a vote on the official Rubin Kazan website, in which 174,230 people voted, the winner is Cesar Navas.

Navas: All Because of Andrei

Cesar Navas, who recently won both Manager's Player of the Year and Fan's Player of the Year at the annual club award, has thanked boss Andrei Kanchelskis, for his help and support throughout the season. Navas became a key player for the Rubin side during the 2012/13 season, with manager Kanchelskis often praising the defender after good games, or helping after bad games, however rare they were during the season.

Navas picked up both awards during the Club Awards, while also featured in the squads Best XI, actually gaining the highest average rating throughout the season. Navas, who was fairly unknown before the start of this season, has become a superstar in Russia due to his performance, and his success in helping Rubin Kazan get the quadruple.

Navas is expected to become a key player again in the next season, and hopes to gain as much success again, and possibly reach the knockouts of the Champions League.

Kanchelskis' Seasonal Statement

Well, where do I start. It's been a wonderful year. I am very happy. The team have played brilliantly. Squad morale has gone up a lot, and we got results. I am proud of every single player in the team. They deserve everything they got this year.

The success was excellent. I hope to stay here as along as possible, and get as much success as possible. This has been a year I will never forget. I am very happy I took this job, and it has changed my life. Kazan is the best place in the world for me to be now.

I have now found that my search for a job as a manager was my greatest decision ever. Rubin Kazan can be the greatest team in the world, and to me, they already are.

This year may be done, but next year we need more. We need to reach the knockouts of the Champions League and win the Super Cup. We can beat Real Madrid. This has been on of the greatest seasons I have ever been part of.
