Ins & Outs

July 1, 2015
The very first day of July, the very first day of the summer transfer market, is always a day of arrivals and of official departures…

WHO ARRIVE…
Exactly 15 players joined us today, some for the first team, some for the youth one.

This 18yo goalie is one of the most interesting prospects in his position. He joined from Zenit for 6M€ and he is going to fight with Ahmetaj for being in the starting line-up.

Arriving from Real Sociedad for 175K€, he is going to be the U19 team’s goalie.

Oriol Romeu and Nicolas Tagliafico.

The natural role of this Spanish talent is defensive midfielder, but I bought him from Chelsea for 2M€ to place him at the center of my defense. He is going to be a key player of the team.

After having refused to join us two seasons ago for free, the Argentinian left back (with Italian passport) finally joined us for 3.1M€ from Godoy Cruz. He is going to be my first choice in the role.

Coming from Argentinian Huracan for free, this 17yo center back will play a role between the first team and the U19 one.

These three young guys will be in the U19 team. The first join for free from Nantes, the other two cost me around 300K€ and arrived from Las Palmas and Murcia, respectively.

After one year spent on loan with some good performances, I decided to buy from Basel the young left midfielder for 2.1M€.

His talent is great, my scouts were delighted with him and I spent only 500K€ to buy him from Auxerre. Being only 15yo, he is going to train with the first squad and to play with the U19 one.

This two Spanish guys arrived from Getafe and Murcia, respectively, for a total amount of almost 300K€. They are going to join the U19 team this season.

He is only 18, but his talent is so great that he will be in the first team from the very beginning of the season, fighting for a place in the starting line-up. I spent 3M€ for having him from Instituto.

These two young strikers will join the U19 team. The first arrived for free from Stade Lavallois, the second was paid 250K€ to Deportivo.

Two more players are going to join us in the next days…

The young Paraguayan left back has great talent and will train the first squad, maybe fighting for some room in few months. I paid almost 3.5M€ to have him from Libertad.

Last but not least, this Argentinian midfielder joined us for free from Colon and will play with the U19 squad.

… WHO LEAVE …
In the last month I agreed 5 move out of Real Oviedo’s team.

Amedeo Benedetti and Leonardo Sigali.

Starting from the defense, Amedeo Benedetti and Leonardo Sigali left after one only year spent on our side without impressing me and the board. The first moved to Malaga for a fee of 975K€, the second joined Celta for 1.5M€. Both had joined us for free last season and gifted us some surplus.

Stefano Guberti and Marcinho Guerreiro.

Going to the midfield, Marlon Ganchozo and Stefano Guberti left us after three good years to move to Italy, the first joining Parma for 925K€, the second joining Pisa for 300K€. Also Wilfred Osuji moved out after having spent two seasons with us and moved to Austria to join Red Bull Salzburg for 2.2M€, the most earning transfer till now. Finally, Marcinho Guerreiro decided to retire and to leave football, having no interests in another career in this world.

… AND NEXT MOVES.
I think the team is almost done. Some more players are going to leave, the most of them on loan. The unique player I want to get rid of definitively is Urko Vera, that has no future in my team, but also no team interested on him till now…
Stefano Gagliardo
Some great additions, in particular Rios, Solari and Flores for me

Solari and Flores can become great! Rios too, but also the goalie, Vanyushin, can become world class...
Great signings Gambit, looking forward to seeing the young stars develop in coming years :D

Thanks mate! Let's hope that they will develop as much as I think... ;)
I'm telling you now, Tagliafico can develop in to one of the best left backs in the game! :)

Andrea Gagliardo's Pre-Season Conference

July 11, 2015
Today the A.C. Milan’s conference hall hosted the first press conference by Andrea Gagliardo, the side’s manager. Here it is a synthesis of the manager’s words.

On the new season. “Every season is a new adventure. We have won everything in these first three seasons together, it’s not easy to find new incentives any new year. But we are ready to face it and to win new titles.”

On the objectives. “In any match we take part, we go out to the pitch to win. There is no primary objective: we are going to fight for all the competitions we are involved in.”

On the playing style. “Together with my staff, I set up a new playing style that will be even more offensive than the one we used in the last years.”

On the market. “Our choice are made according with the new tactics and style. Some choices have been done and some other are to be made, some of which might result surprising to you. Some important players have gone, and I want to thank them for what they did in the last season, but they were not suitable for the team anymore. We are not going to be protagonists on the market from the buying point of view, because we feel the team is ready, with the players we had and some that have come back from loans. But we have still something to do from the selling one.”

On the future projects. “The team that is going to start the season is very young, but we feel they are ready to be part of the team for the present and the future. This is the team for the future of Milan, a future we hope to be glorious and full of trophies.”

Excellent updates! The transfer result for Milan was amazing. I never thought Arsenal would pay that much haha but great for you getting that much for Niang. Lots of players joining Oviedo but that keeper looks like he could be absolutely amazing

That's a lot of young talent.

Krupesh: at first, thanks mate! Then, well, I didn't think too that Arsenal could pay so much for Niang... He is a good player, but they paid him almost as much as I paid Falcao :O Vanyushin can become world class, but he is not the unique one :P

Northwood: yes, plenty of talents... I am going to build up the team from them, then my bunches of transfers are going to decrease in the future... ;)

Will be interesting to see how many of them that makes it to the starting lineup in a few years.

I find it easy to get to young when building up a team like this.
I always started with really young people when managing a low league team. It's a risk in the very first years, but can be really satisfactory in the near future if you can choose wisely... I hope I have been also this time... ;)

A Beach Interview with Radamel Falcao…

July 12, 2015
Trainigs are starting tomorrow in Milanello and the last holiday moments have to be spent for A.C. Milan’s players. I found Radamel Falcao, Rossoneri’s captain, spending his last hours at the seaside, in Bergeggi, Liguria. He invited me to sat with him and his family under his parasol, he offered me a coke and allow me for a brief interview (me, Falcao)...

“Radamel, you joined Rossoneri two years ago and six months you were the Captain of the side. And your performances are making it a really deserved choice…”
“I am really happy with what we are achieving. And I am really happy with my choice of coming to Italy and to Milan in particular. Despite my starting worries…”

“What do you mean?”
“Well, when Atletico Madrid’s Director of Football called me saying that Milan had offered the right amount to have me I was happy that I could go away from there. But Milan, despite their history, were going through a difficult time, with a new unknown manager, while I was looking for a team with which I could have won titles from the very beginning…”

“What convinced you to accept the deal?”
“It was the manager himself, that unknown man that had joined an historical club at his very first job, and immediately won two trophies. He came to Madrid to talk to me, he offered me a dinner and we start speaking about nothing. Then, he started to tell me about his projects: he wanted the team to grow up in the International football world and he needed a man that could be the leader of the team for the following years. And he said he thought I was that man! He was thinking about building the team around me, an offensive team that needed an important goal scorer to finalize the amount of chances the other build. The way he spoke to me… That simple man… Well, he won my respect and I accepted the deal.”

“I don’t think you regret that…”
“Definitely not! I am glad of the choice I made and I think Gagliardo is the best manager I have ever had! And his destiny is to become one of the greatest, as well as his brother.”

“Do you know Stefano?”
“I met him last year, in the friendly match we played against his side. Andrea has already told me he got inspiration from his brother’s way of managing the team and relating to the players, and I understood why! Moreover, his team played a wonderful match against us despite being a just promoted team to the first Spanish division, it impressed me.”

“What are the objectives for the next season?”
“I want to score as much as I can to lead Milan to other trophies! We won almost everything last season, failing only the Champions League title at the final stage. I want my revenge, I did not my best in that match…”

“Finally, just some words about the man Falcao.”
“I am a fully realized man. I am doing the best job ever, I am playing in one of the best team of the world. I have a wonderful wife in Lorelei and a wonderful daughter, Milena. What more I could ask?”

Then, he told me it was time for him to leave, he had to come back to Milan for joining his mates the following day at the first training session. A stunning player and a nice man… A captain inside and outside the pitch…
