[FM 13] The two manager brothers story...

The transfer market ended yesterday night and some important moves have been done in this two intense market months. The most expensive deal in Europe have surprisingly been the one of Mbaye Niang from A.C. Milan to Arsenal, paid 45M by the Gunners, more than how much Barcelona spent for purchasing Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.
The A.C. Milan’s manager, Andrea Gagliardo is undoubtedly the King of the Market for this window, having set the 4 most important deal in Italy, 3 of which (Mbaye Niang to Arsenal, Riccardo Montolivo and Raul Albiol to Porto) are in the top 10 European deals. The curious thing is that all of these are players that moved out from the Italian team to foreign countries… In the following, we give you the tables of the Top 10 Deals for each of the 5 most important European leagues.

I had no time to realize that, and no words to describe that… That’s why I took almost a week to come back and write what I feel… There are no words to express my feelings, just the ones to say what happened… WE WON THE SPANISH SUPER CUP!!!



We were lucky in a sense, one goal and we could have been stolen of our deserved first trophy of Real Oviedo history… But we were great in defending the result till the end… A result that gave us the Spanish Super Cup trophy! I am so excited! The guys were simply unbelievably wonderful on the pitch!


There’s nothing more that I can really say… Except from… YEEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!

The market is just finished and, as I thought during the early summer break, we have not been protagonist in it. Or better, we have been for the amount of money we got, not for the number of players brought in… We set up only some minor deals on youth players and nothing more, while we have been really active in selling players, with 15 leaving us definitively and 20 on loan. For a total amount of 115M€ obtained from the transfer deals and only 1.5M spent!


After all these movements, I have now the possibility to decide how my squad is going to be at least during the first half of this season. A very young one that may astonish many people, but I fully trust on these guys to fit in my new 4-1-1-2-2 tactics…




Forster is going to be my regular, La Rosa his backup and will grow up under the English goalie’s wing. I planned to send the young La Rosa on loan in a second division and keep Perin as backup for another season, but without any offers at hand I decided to sell out the last and to keep the first in the squad.



With Ignazio being a loyal Milan’s man, Christian will act as his backup as done in the last one and a half season with important performances.


Mattia is a Milan man since he was a child and has grown up a lot in the three seasons we worked together. Fabio is a luxury backup, he could be regular without Mattia on his front, but will be very important in a so long season.


Lisandro played stunning seasons so far and is untouchable in my team. Moreover, this season he will be my vice-captain. Tonny and Nicolas will fight for a place at Lisandro’s side, with the Dutch a bit advantage in my preferences: despite his young age, he plays simply wonderfully! Ahmed is a good young backup, Lorenzo is one to be used when needed, can become a pretty solid decent center back and can play both on the center and on the left.



Maxime has played very well since he arrived here, and deserves my trust and the number 10 I assigned him. Natale is the future, a Milan youngster and a future world class member of our midfield.


Denys and Leon will fight for the place in the midfield, both start at the same level for me. Mirsad can play both here and as a defensive midfielder and will be a worthy backup during the season.



Stephan is definitely world class and I believe it can become even more decisive with this new playing style. Carlos played well in that position last year and will be important in the squad rotation.


Tarek has become a stunning player and will be my regular this season, with Carlo that will fight for his room. He is another Milan’s man from the youth teams and I fully believe in his abilities.



Falcao is the star and the Captain of the team, Stevan is his perfect mate in an attack duo. Lyes and Valiant can be future world class, especially the first one, and I fully believe they can be great rotation players in the team. Donatello had a great time last year on loan and is a perfect fifth striker, young and skilled.



Raffaele arrived from Napoli this summer, hotly advised by my scouts. Gianluigi is a youth prospect of ours and a future world class striker in my opinion. Both of them will play for the U20 team and may have the possibility of playing for the first team in some matches. Markus, on the other hand, will spend another year on loan to grow up playing regularly in a first team.

Market closed two days ago. Our work has been done almost all at the beginning, I love to have my squad ready since the pre-season start. We have done a lot, both bringing players in and selling players out.

Looking at the man I registered yesterday morning, we have done a great job! The squad is very young, so that I can send on the pitch all the players I have among the first and the U19 team. Almost 40 players that could be lined-up: not bad…

The starting 11 is almost chosen, even if I think something can change during the season…


From the very beginning, the goal will be Albi’s property, he deserves it for what he has done in the previous season. He has become a solid goalie also for a first division. Valery will fight for a future place: I think he can become one of the best goalies in the football world and in 1 or 2 season he could steal the place to the more expert German guy.


On the right side of the defense, Xu and Anis start as the same level, with the Chinese guy that have some more growth margin and possibility of being the future regular.

Nicolas is going to be the regular on the left side, with Hugo who has definitely the skills to challenge his place in the future. Sebastian is going to be only a backup, but his ability to play on both sides can be very useful during the season.

Oriol and Dzikamai will be the regular in the central positions of the defense, with Robert and Wellington being two good players to be used in the squad rotation that will be useful due to the European clashes. Jonatan has great chances to improve and become a world class player in the future.


On the right side of the midfield, Fabio has shown in the previous seasons the great skills he has and will be the regular. Jorge is growing up very fast and may reach the Brazilian’s level in some months, challenging his place or being at least a very important rotation man.

The Swiss left midfielder convinced me to buy him after a good season on loan and is going to be the regular, but Carlos is growing up fast and is going to challenge his place in a short time.

Lucas is the key player of the central part of the midfield, with Bruno being a good mate for him. Borja and Michel are very good young men useful in the rotation, while Cheick is the future. I am really confident on him…


The Captain is the man that is difficult to be kept outside the ground because the love for Oviedo’s shirt let him play even over his possibilities! Adrian and Issa are the ones that challenge the two places in the attack with him, with David being maybe the hottest prospect in the team and reclaiming some room in the next months. Nyron is another hot prospect to be taken into account.


Among the guys that are out on loan, I think that the Spanish center back and the Swedish striker are definitely the two to be more aware of: they have skills that may let them become regular for this team in a near future…


Someone is saying we are too young… But our start seem to have shut up many mouths around… And a world class club has to be built from the basement… This guys are my basement...

The 2015/2016 season is started, and for us it was a really good start with 3 matches played and 3 victories, one of which gave us the Italian Super Cup trophy.





The Serie A season started very well for us! We dominated both the matches we played against Palermo and Fiorentina, with 10 goals scored and no one conceded. Particularly satisfactory has been the first match, a 6-0 in front of our supporters: a wonderful debut in the new Serie A season! On the other hand, the second match, the one against Fiorentina, was the 100th league appearance for Stephan El Shaarawy, a guy that has been, is and is going to be a leading force of the team.

Top of the table… That means nothing after only two matches…




An average draw for us. Dortmund is an hard side to face, the other two teams might have been easier, but even worse. And in a sense, I am happy to have avoided my brother’s side in the draw…




There is no reason not to give the Man of the Month award to Radamel. The Captain has started the season in great form, scoring 5 goals in 3 matches, with an impressive hat-trick in the match against Fiorentina.




A busy month, with 6 matches to play, but only the Dortmund one appears tricky on the cards…
