Two Join Huddersfield Town

Despite us being in an amazing position, come the turn of the new year, I have felt it necessary to improve the team’s depth and replace a couple of players who I now don’t think have the quality to be in a team that is pushing for Champions League football for a second season in a row. Adam Clayton has been allowed to leave the club with him deciding to join West Bromwich Albion for £3.4 million. This has seen the club make a £3 million profit after they signed him from rivals Leeds United. He had been a great player for the club back down in the Championship but I do think that the players I have brought in are of a different quality and will help ensure we continue to make progress. I am also looking to let Lee Novak leave the club as I he just isn’t getting game time due to the great season that both Carlos Fierro and Mattia Destro are having. No clubs are currently interesting making a bid for Novak but I am confident he will be gone either during this transfer window, if not, he will be sold during the summer.

Transfer Details: Signed for £5.75 million on a 4 year contract

I cannot believe firstly that I have managed to sign Sigurdsson for such a cheap transfer fee and that he was so willing to reduce his initial wage demands so we could acquire his services. He is a brilliant player that will certainly strengthen our attacking front line. I cannot wait to see him playing alongside Destro and Fierro and he will also be reunited with Iago Falque; it could potentially allow Falque to finally settle which seems to be stopping him playing to his full potential. Sigurdsson is only 25 years old which means he has the best years of career ahead of him and I am so glad that they are going to be with Huddersfield Town.

Transfer Details: Signed for £6.75 million on a 4 year deal.

It is quite interesting that I seem to have raided Tottenham Hotspur for their unhappy players just a few months after Spurs offered me the job of being their manager at least three times. Holtby is another player that couldn’t seem to break into the London club’s first team. Now he has joined Huddersfield Town he will get the games that he has been desperate for. I do hope that he will be able to spark a partnership with Sigurdsson and they will be able to control and dominate the midfield. This is another player who will bring the creativity to the team’s midfield that we were desperate for last season. Another young player with a very bright future.

They should add some real quality to the team. I am months ahead of this story now and I can tell you that they have been an immediate impact, more Sigurdsson than Holtby but I am very pleased with my two signings. Thanks for reading.

I couldn't believe that I managed to get them so cheaply and their contracts are very reasonable too to say we are a team pushing for a Champions League spot minimum at the moment. Thanks for reading.

It is quite frustrating that they are sat in the only position I want to be in. Sigurdsson has performed very well consistently but Holtby seems to have gone off the boil a little bit; bearing in mind that I am several months and important games ahead of this story. I think they will come good next season.

Things do seem to go well for me on this game but trust me, I am due a downfall. I just hope it isn't this season.

FA Cup Fourth Round Draw

January

A long yet absolutely perfect month! I said in my last monthly update that I expected the team to win every single match we took part in. This was quite a high expectation but it was one that was made clear to the team and they duly delivered. This perfect month has seen us progress into the fifth round of the FA Cup and moved up to second in the league. We are one point behind the leaders, Liverpool FC, yet they have one game in hand. The next month won’t be as easy as it starts against Chelsea FC and then followed straight away by Manchester Untied. However, with the team’s confidence sky high then I don’t see why we can’t have another great month.
