Empoli 1-3 Inter

Serie A - Matchday 1
Starting XI (4-3-3)
ter Stegen; Peruzzi, Ranocchia (c), Bellusci, Pereira; M'Vila, Maher, Sissoko; Insigne, Sterling, Destro

Romano, Boudebouz, Coutinho
Sissoko, Sterling, Coutinho

Maher (1)
Destro (4, pen 29)
Di Carmine (49)

Coutinho - Groin Strain (2-3 weeks)

Man of the Match

This was an excellent way to kick off the Serie A season. Maher had an impressive league debut, and Mattia Destro started right where he left off last season, banging in a brace to lead us to victory. Alvaro Pereira has to be the key man, though, despite Destro's brace. The left back managed a hattrick of assists to remind me why he is still first choice.

Inter 2-0 Cesena

Serie A - Matchday 2
Starting XI (4-3-1-2)
ter Stegen; Peruzzi, Ranocchia (c), Bellusci, Pereira; Crisetig, M'Vila, Sissoko; Maher; Insigne, Destro

Romano, Sterling, Boudebouz
Crisetig, Maher, Insigne

Bellusci (29)
Destro (62)

Man of the Match

Cesena came to the San Siro with one idea on their mind: Defend. We had 62% possession and 25 shots, 14 of which were on target, to their 38% possession and 0 total shots. They were tough to break down, to be fair, but we thoroughly deserved our victory. We also hit the post 3 times, so if we had been just a little luckier this victory would have been much more comprehensive.

Serie A

Good to see us off to an early lead in Serie A. At this point I guess the league table is rather irrelevant but I think it is extremely important to start well and set the standard of how you will play for the rest of the season.

Player of the Month

My player of the month has to be Mattia Destro. With all the hype about my new signings, Destro just kept doing what he does best, and that's scoring goals. 3 goals in the first 2 Serie A games, couldn't ask for more.

Monthly Review

It was an excellent start to the Serie A season for us. Mattia Destro, of course has been excellent, as has Adam Maher. Insigne seems to have cooled of a bit after his red hot preseason, which worries me, but I'm sure he'll step things up. The most important of all, however, is our new tactical abilities are working very well. We used both of my main tactics in either match and each time we played very well. I think this will be a very exciting season for Nerazzurri fans.
But he's wearing a Roma jersey ;)

That was for a spelling error, not the picture :P
The usual start for Inter ;) and I'm sure it will be another season of 100+ points :P
