Maher is just banging them in for you. What happened to Roma though :O

Edit: Oh and 1200 replies :P
AaronHJFT96: Yeah I as well hope Roma stay up, it just won't be the same without them.

joethequin: Thanks for getting me to 1200, and Maher is doing amazing right now!
Some nice results, and Roma on the brink of relegation :D
Pauker: Quite strange, but one less rival is not bad :P

Inter Show Up Red Devils to Take 2-0 Lead

Manchester United are the most successful club in the history of English football, mainly thanks to Sir Alex Ferguson, but ever since the great Scot's retirement the Red Devils have struggled to make an impact on European football. Fighting to also win the EPL for the first time in three years, Luciano Spalleti's men now had to host the reigning Champions League winners Inter Milan in the first leg of the semifinals.

Though the Nerazzurri were favorites, as ever, some pundits believed that if Manchester United managed to play to its full potential they could possible upset Giuseppe Bergomi's dominant Italian side and take a lead to the Giuseppe Meazza the next week. The Mancunian team almost pulled it off.

Nick Powell and Darren Fletcher were pulling the strings in midfield as the deadly movement of Kagawa, Ramirez, and ex-Inter man Shaqiri twisted and turned behind the main striker in Wayne Rooney. Though the Italian champions struggled to keep possession, they certainly defended solidly and managed to keep United off of the scoresheet.

Twenty minutes into the match, however, a swift Inter counterattack gave the visitors the lead against the grain of play. Raheem Sterling, an ex-Liverpool player and well familiar with hating United, robbed Dede at the half line and took off on the counter down the wing. He backheeled the ball to Gino Peruzzi, who cut the ball back to Adam Maher. The Dutchman, who has scored three goals in his last two games, slotted home with ease.

Manchester United continued to possess but still failed to carve out clear goal scoring opportunities, and half time came and went without incident. Nearly on the hour mark, Inter doubled their advantage with another incisive break away.

Brazilian superstar Philippe Coutinho, penned back in his own half, saw his diminutive striker Lorenzo Insigne making a releasing run down the left flank. Coutinho lofted a pass reminiscent of Andrea Pirlo to the Italian attacker who bursted past Dede and clipped the ball over the onrushing David De Gea to make the score 2-0.

At this point Spalleti threw on a second striker as his Manchester side searched to salvage something from the match in preparation for the second leg, and Giuseppe Bergomi replied by dropping more men back, very content with his two away goals. Though United finished with 60% possession and twice as many shots on target, the match ended 2-0 to Inter.

"We defended very, very well and took our chances on the break when we could," said a very pleased Bergomi after the match. "While it is good to play passing football, and I like to encourage my team to do so, sometimes you need to defend hard and counter very quickly, which we did excellently today. We are in a prime position to make the final once again."

Arsenal defeated Manchester City 2-0 in the other semifinal first leg. An own goal from Mats Hummels and a long range strike from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain did the the damage in the last ten minutes at the Emirates Stadium. The second legs will take place next week, and things are looking increasingly likely that we will see a repeat of last season's final: Inter vs. Arsenal, Bergomi vs. Conte.
You just couldn't take it could you? Manchester United are and always will be the best team in the world for eternity... lol jk :P but awesome job on beating them mate, any chance of seeing the tactics you use with Inter? Absolutely smashed it with the story Neal, keep it up! :)
Great Update Neal, Maher again <3
Brilliant win Neal, sounds like that Insigne goal was pretty nice! :D
Oh my dear Neal, they've struggled to make an impact after their 2011 loss against Barca in the final. Heh.
NVDTahir: Manchester United suck. Thank goodness I didn't join them :P

joethequin: Maher is absolutely on fire right now! :D

The Madridista: He's certainly stepping up his game in place of Ade and Destro :)

Pauker: Yeah, they just couldn't recover from losing SAF. United are very poor :))

Inter Milan Reach Second Straight UCL Final

For the first time in UEFA Champions League and European Cup history, the same two teams that contested last season's final will play yet again this season; reigning champions Inter Milan will once again take on runner up Arsenal to compete for the famous trophy in Camp Nou next month.

After a very strong 2-0 win at Old Trafford against a rather poor Manchester United side, the Nerazzurri knew that a strong performance at home would take them to their second straight final. The last team to manage to win two straight Champions League trophies was AC Milan, and now Inter looked ready to try and outshine their eternal rivals.

The Stadio Giuseppe Meazza had hosted the final last season, but now it hosted Inter's most important game of the season to date; home to the Red Devils. Luciano Spaletti's English giants needed a very strong result to advance to their first final since 2011, and a big boost for them was the return of the formerly injured Neymar.

Fifteen minutes into the match, however, it was a different winger that was thrust into the spotlight. Lucas Digne brilliantly tackled Neymar before hitting a delightful lofted ball to Raheem Sterling on the counterattack. The English international, who in fact scored his only goal for England at Old Trafford, nicked the ball past David De Gea and scored. The match seemed over even this early.

Moments after the restart, however, Wayne Rooney nearly pegged one back for United. Emerson Luiz lingered on the ball for far too long at the back and the powerful striker won the ball and had a hit from distance, only to watch the dipping shot hammer off of the upright and wide.

Sterling almost found himself doubling his tally on the night shortly before halftime. Fernando Muslera had launched a goal kick deep down the field and the 5'4" Lorenzo Insigne had nodded the ball through for the pacy winger. Sterling was one on one with De Gea but failed to make United pay, instead watching his shot crash off of the post.

The interval came and went, and afterward it seemed the Nerazzurri were far more content to sit back and soak up Manchester United's inevitable waves of pressure; Neymar and his men needed three goals to advance. Andrea Ranocchia and Emerson Luiz were rocks at the back, however, and for the longest time managed to stifle any and all Red Devil attacks with Yann M'Vila sweeping up in midfield.

With just two minutes to go, however, United did get at least some consolation. Andriy Yarmolenko made a sparkling run down the left beating Gino Peruzzi with ease. The Ukrainian international picked out Neymar at the back post and found him excellently, leaving the Brazilian superstar to poke home from close range.

It was a case of "too little, too late", however, and Inter Milan moved onto the final by an aggregate score of 3-1, doing the hard bit in the away leg before securing safe passage at home.

"The boys are very excited to have made the final for the second year running, and it will be all the more fun for the fans to watch us take on Conte's Arsenal once again," said Berogmi in his post match press conference. "We've already won Serie A; all our focus is on winning the Champions League once again."

Arsenal lost 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium to MAnchester City but survived the late scare to move on due to the away goals rule after a 3-3 aggregate draw. Antonio Conte seemed inspired after the match, saying, "It's time for vengeance. Every single person at the club is hungry to win over the team that took this title from us last year. We will triumph."

Inter and Arsenal will face off at the Camp Nou in May to see who will take home the European crown. Will Inter win their second straight UCL or can Arsenal avenge last season's heartbreaking loss? We are in for one hell of a final.

NVDTahir: Thanks, can't wait to play Arsenal again :D

The Curtain Comes Down on Serie A

Inter 4-1 Palermo

Serie A
Lorenzo Insigne (13)
Ademilson (52)
Emerson Luiz (56, 62)
Matias Silvestre (68)
Emerson Luiz

We played very well today and we picked up another win in stylish fashion. Insigne continued his good form, and we also had a chance to welcome Ademilson back from his long-term injury. The Brazilian striker marked the occasion with a nice goal, and his compatriot Luiz scored two headers on corners. My ex-player Silvestre managed to score against us and we had a quick chat after the game, it was good to see him again.

Parma 1-2 Inter

Serie A
Ademilson (3, 59)
Daniele Corradi (38)
Ademilson (64)
Lorenzo Crisetig

This was the Ademilson show for the first hour. Our Brazilian poacher had a brilliant match and looked unstoppable in front of goal. Unfortunately he missed a penalty, which took away some confidence, but overall he still played very well. I'm starting to play some more young players and rotation players to give the first team lads some time to recover before our two consecutive finals later this month.

Inter 1-0 Udinese

Serie A
Simone Pierguidi (66)
Simone Pierguidi

It was a great day for Simone Pierguidi as he netted his first ever goal for Inter Milan! The young Italian defender came up through our youth ranks and is a very, very big talent for the future, and he's already made 17 appearances in Serie A as an 18 year old. Our front three struggled at times in this game, but I did give a number of teenagers a chance, which may explain that. One match to go!

Bologna 1-4 Inter

Serie A
Philippe Coutinho (8)
Giuseppe Bellusci (21)
Lorenzo Insigne (23)
Robert Acquafresca (63)
Maxime Gautier (67)
Philippe Coutinho

What a cracking way to finish off the Serie A campaign! Our offense was firing on all cylinders and Coutinho in particular had a great game, getting a goal and an assist. It was a great moment for French superstar in the making Maxime Gautier as he scored his first ever league goal for us! The 19 year old is considered one of the greatest French talents in the world right now and proved it here today. A wonderful way to cap things off; I could not be happier.

SERIE A

The table says it all. We are absolutely too good. There will be another update wrapping up the season with awards, records, and a general review of the domestic campaign. Forza Inter, the greatest club in Italy!

30 points clear...wow. Excellent!
