Controversy Sparks as Le Fondre Named as New Manager
Reading fans everywhere have been outraged today as current striker Adam Le Fondre has been handed the job of Manager at the club. Le Fondre will continue to perform for the squad as a player but will take control over the managerial duties. Le Fondre is set to meet the media over the coming hours.
Le Fondre States Intentions and Claims Game Success Brought Him The Job
Press: You sit here today as Reading manager, whilst also being a striker for the club!, Do you believe your players and teammates will trust your backing when selecting yourself for the club?
Le Fondre: Yes, I have full backing selecting whatever team I do, I know the lads will respond in a positive manner to any team I send out onto the field. I spoke to the lads just this morning and they had all told me they believe I have what it takes, They're the reason I've got the job!.
Press: What do you mean?, How do they players have such a great trust and belief in your managerial abilities?, and more importantly how did they get you the job?
Le Fondre: It was the lads who recommended me to the Board, I currently play a game produced by Sports Interactive known as Football Manager, I talk to the boys about the games I play, tell them of the philosophies I try to implement and they think some of them are astounding and should be implemented upon a real club, Karacan and Mariappa asked me for a few saves of the game I play and presented them to the board as somewhat of a port-folio.
Press: That's Ludicrous, you must feel your jumping in at the deep end taking control of a real club playing in the premier league, from a game you can sit in the comfort of your home and play by your computer?
Le Fondre: Absolutely not, All managers must start somewhere be it at the top or the bottom, being teammates to my players I can see with my own eyes the abilty and skill of the squad I have been presented with and have no fears of getting the results, as I know the lads have the potential to upset the apple cart in every match. Now I must leave, That will be all for today. I must begin to build my team for what I hope to be a very strong season back in the Premier League.
