Le Fondre given the Funds!

Due to Readings outstanding performance in the league, Reading Chairman and other Board officials have gifted Le Fondre an extra 12.5m to push for the Europa League positions the board however are said to still be delighted if the club can only obtain a mid table finish.

Le Fondre announces agreement, one departure and two arrivals!

Le Fondre seemed to be delighted today as he sat next to the two new arrivals to his Reading squad; James Perch & Matt Phillips

Press: James Perch joins you today as part of an offer made by Newcastle for Mikele Leigertwood, you have brought in James and received 1.2m from the Tyneside club, Do you believe James will be able to perform given his arrival sounded Mikele's departure?

Le Fondre: Absolutely, James has outstanding talent and performs at a high level regardless of the pressure placed upon him, I have total confidence James will come up big when required and I believe we have stolen from Newcastle because Perch can perform just as good if not better than Leigertwood game in, game out.

Press: Phillips arrives for a fee just above 2 million, are you delighted that the player has come for such a low price when his contract was set to expire in the summer?

Le Fondre: I am delighted to bring Matt in for such a minimal fee, when Wigan made the offer it alerted us of his availability and we swooped in and had to snatch him away from them. The board have praised my vision and expressed their delight that I snapped up such a quality player at such a low price.

Press: Both players rejected offers from at least 3 clubs each to join your team, has that told you that these players and fans alike are beginning to believe Reading football club is going places?

Le Fondre: I believe so yes, James and Matt have both spoken to me already and told me of their determination to break Reading into Europe with style. I look for determination and the will to succeed in any player and I have to with bags of it here. Also, I believe the players at the club already believe that Reading are going places and thats why the club is performing so well. The fans support is great the harmony in the squad is outstanding and right now Reading FC is the club to be at.

Press: It is rumored you have struck a deal on a pre-contract with Colombian shot-stopper David Ospina, Can you go on record to agree with this?

Yes, David has agreed a deal with the club and we are looking forward to welcoming him in the summer, With this we have a agreed a deal with Lokomotiv Moscow to sell Adam Federici for 1.9 million. Although Adam is a high class individual, Alex McCarthy has stepped up this season and outshone him. McCarthy came into the squad whilst Adam was injured and unfortunately for Adam he has never been able to break back in.

Press: We know of the clubs attempts to sign Palermo forward, Abel Hernandez, Just how soon can we be expecting to see him in a Reading strip?

Le Fondre: Hernandez has agreed a contract and a fee of 4.5 million has been agreed between the two clubs, Unfortunately Abel requires a work permit to play football within England and we are unable to bring him as soon as we like. However, a decision will be made on the 12th of January and the move will be formalized and he will be a Reading player from then on.

Matt Phillips has joined the club and could be selected to play against Newcastle this coming week.

Abel Hernandez has been attracting the attention of Manchester United in the past and Reading have done well to sign a player of his calibre

James Perch has joined the club which involved Newcastle paying 1.2m in the club and recieving Mikele Leigertwood in return.
Great signings m8. I'm now begining to think you can qualify for Europa Leaguue! Good luck ;)

Disappointment for Le Fondre as Contracts break down, Yet Le Fondre Happy with New signing

Le Fondre told the press of his disappointment today as Abel Hernandez was turned down in his appeal for a work permit, Le Fondre had stated that not being able to bring Abel was a big knock for the team especially with the sale of Pavel Porgrebnyak. With Reading officials being sure of Hernandez's arrival Pavel Pogrebnyak was allowed to leave the club in a deal worth 3.5m, Now with Reading unable to secure the services of Hernandez, Reading have been left short in front of goal with only 2 strikers in the clubs whole squad".

Despite the anger at Hernandez failed work permit, Le Fondre had been able to bring in Iceland Central midfielder Aron Gunnarsson in a deal thought to be worth around 4.5m, Gunnarsson joins from championship side Cardiff and has already expressed his delight and determination to perform well for Reading in the premier league.
Brilliant story so farmstead, unlucky with the work permit on Abel, but the signings you've finalized have been brilliant! Keep up the good work. :)

The Royals enjoyed a fairly decent month, despite loses against Tottenham and their departure from the FA Cup, Reading gathered a vital 8-points in the league which have proved to be the points which get them two points away from the 40-mark which can almost guarantee Premier League survival. However, with the draws and losses, Reading have seen 7th placed United move 5-points clear in their bid for Europa League football. Improvement will be needed if they look to clinch a Europa League spot.

League Table

January Transfers

In:

Wilson Palacios has joined the Royals on a loan deal to the end of the season, With an injury to Akpan, and the sale of Mikele Leigertwood, Le Fondre has been left short of players to fill the central midfield void, Le Fondre clearly sees the out of favour Honduran as suitable cover to the end of the season.

Aron Gunnarsson has joined from promotion contenders Cardiff City, Reading had an initial bid of 5.75 million turned down, but with Gunnarsson expressing his wish to move away from the Championship side Reading were able to clinch Gunnarsson at a cut down fee of 4.5 million.

James Perch arrived in a deal, which involved a fee of 1.2 million in Readings direction and a part exchange for powerful midfielder Mikele Leigertwood, Despite not playing in Leigertwoods position Le Fondre clearly saw this as a good deal, and has looked to play Perch at Rb which has sounded exit alarms for aging full-back Stephen Kelly.

Reading were looking for potential signings in the Championship once more, and Seaside club Blackpool offered Reading want-away winger Matt Phillips for 2.3 million, Phillips has expressed his delight at the Royals current league standing and has shown a determination to push them even higher.

Out:

Mikele Leigertwood left Reading to join struggling Newcastle United, Many fans have sounded their dissapointment at the sale of Leigertwood but trust the clubs decision and feel they got a decent deal for the central/defensive midfielder.

Pavel Pogrebnyak left Reading in favour of a move to Serie A team Napoli, Pogrebnyak had found a shortage of chances to present himself in the first team with Le Fondre appearing to prefer Ireland forward Noel Hunt.

Adam Federici was in a similar situation to Pogrebnyak, With the rapid progression of young shot stopper Alex McCarthy, Federici found his first 11 chances were few and far between and it was decided best by both him and the club that he was moved on which resulted in his 1.9 million switch to Lokomotiv Moscow
Great update but the only thing I will retain is that Le Fondre scored 6 goals in two games against United! :P

he was dynamite on both games, meant to create a small side story about his performances and it being his favourite club etc, but got carried away playing and rushed this update a tad :)

Sorry guys, No league table this month, However Reading are still sitting pretty 3-points clear of 9th in 8th place, However, with the decline in form, 7th place has ran away from them and with 7 games to go, Stoke look to have stole it being 9-points clear. Le Fondre has said he wants his team to aim to claim maximum points from all remaining games if possible, and believes that is the only way they will be playing European football next season.

Le Fondre looking for Karacan to lead

Coming into the run in at the end of another Barclays Premier League season and Royals Player Manager Adam Le Fondre has called upon Talismanic Turk Jem Karacan to lead his side into a victorious final-7 games.

"I'm looking for Karacan to play the football I know he can, When he picks the ball up and begins to lift his head up and spray the ball around, there's not many better in the Premier League at what he does. He can attack, defend and most of all he can lead. Other players are inspired when he performs and he brings the rest of the team into the game. If he plays to the best of his abilities I see no reason why we cannot have a victorious final run in and end our season in style, We have secured survival at this point with 41-points but now it's that final push for European football.

Karacan responded to his managers comments in a positive manner

When your spoken about in such away, you can't help but be inspired, knowing that someone has so much faith in your abilities leads you into wanting to play upto those standards to prove them right and silence people who think otherwise.

A very nice post, this looks like a wonderful story! :)
