Two in, one out

Wigan Athletic have confirmed two new players arriving from Ecuador and Brazil respectively. Jefferson Montero will join the Premier League side in an attempt to reach the mid-table. The Ecuatorian midfielder joined Morelia this season and made just one appearance, assisting a goal before departing for new pastures. The midfielder played for Villareal but decided to leave after the Yellow Submarine were relegated to the Liga Adelante. The new Latics manager decided to activate Montero's release clause which cost the club 1.3 million. Meanwhile, Argentinian Jesus Datolo has joined from Internacional de Porto Alegre after he wrote up a transfer request and Wigan secured his services to give Beausejour some competition. The Argentinian has 2 apps for Argentina, racking two goals. In the other hand, Antigua and Barbuda captain Emerson Boyce left the club after Trippier's arrival at the DW Stadium. The ageing right-back left for Nottingham Forrest on a deal rumoured to be 1.1 million.

Great signing in Kieran Trippier!! He's someone I watch week in week out IRL at Burnley and is definatlty my favorite player. :)

"Crazy deadline day" - Muamba

New Latics boss Muamba has labelled deadline day as 'crazy'. Four players at Wigan left the club, two on a permanent and the latter two on loans. Hondurian centre-back Maynor Figueroa left the club to join ice cold Russia super club CSKA Moscow. The centre-backs contract expired at the end of the season, but CSKA decided to pay 5 million pounds. A few hours later, Q.P.R. would table a 4.6 million bid for Scottish midfielder James McArthur. With the imminent arrival of Gonalons, Muamba decided to accept the bid in order to give McArthur a better chance elsewhere. The two loan departures comes with Nouha Dicko going to Portuguese giants Benfica. The Portuguese giants will pay a massive 150k monthly fee and all of Dicko's wages. The other loan signing, Maloney, will go to Premier League rivals Southampton on a 1 year deal with Southampton paying all of Maloney's wages and 70k per month. Southampton hold a 3.4 million clause if they want to buy Maloney throughout the loan spell. However, Muamba replaced both Figueroa and McArthur with two great players. The recent transfers of Ciaran Clark and Maxime Gonalons. The Irish defender joined Wigan after Muamba tabled a 3.8 million bid for the player. Surprisingly, Paul Lambert accepted the bid and Muamba quickly wrapped up the transfer. Meanwhile, Gonalons reached a record transfer fee for Wigan. The 6.5 million transfer will be payed over four years and Muamba told the press about his excitement to see him in a blue and white shirt. The former Birmingham player said," Gonalons is a great player. His reading of the game is excellent and with McCarthy, they will pull the strings from the midfield. I was quite surprised when I learned that Gonalons was available and for that price, I had to take it."

Thanks Hortensius! Gonalons has massive potential and when I saw him transfer listed it was something I needed to sign. Plus, I desperately needed a defensive minded midfielder. Thanks for reading and commenting Hortensius. I hope to see you more commenting here :)!
