Stam leaves Wigan for Wolves

Netherlands right-back Ronnie Stam, has left Wigan Athletic for Wolverhampton Wanderers for a deal rumoured to be 3.1 million pounds. The right-back has commented of his recent departure of Wigan to Wolverhampton. The 29 year-old said," Muamba told me that I wasn't going to suit his game and he offered me a way out." The new Wolverhampton signing also said," I'm excited to play for Wolves and get them back to the Prem." The new Wigan manager also had something to say about Stam's recent transfer. The former Bolton player said," He's a good lad, but he doesn't suit the play I'm aiming for. Plus, the extra cash is always helpful in circumstances like this." This instigates a lot of Wigan fans to go crazy outside the DW Stadium because Stam was the only right-back at Wigan. Whether Muamba will buy another right-back remains unknown. Muamba has also talked to the press about a keen in Burnley right-back Kieran Trippier and Italian right-back Francesco Pisano.

2013-04-26 20:54#95148 The Special one : Vukcevic is a really good goal scorer. Great signing

I really hope so :P. I do plan to sell him at the end of the season. Thanks for commenting and reading.

2013-04-26 21:13#95170 Jamesg237 : Really such a good idea letting McMannaman go on loan? He could have become an important player for you even in your first season.

A great read as always Pauker. Keep it up.

I will have him back on January or I can trigger a clause that lets me recall him. With the new signings, he won't have any chance. Thanks for reading and commenting.
I'll always follow a Jeremy Pauker story, no need to thank me :P

Trippier arrives at Wigan for medical

Kieran Trippier has arrived to the DW Stadium for a pending medical further to his transfer to Wigan. The transfer consists of 2.5 million and Albert Crusat moving to Burnley. The former Almeria midfielder is seen as a fringe player this season at Wigan and Muamba took full advantage of Burnley's interest in the midfielder. The midfielder is known to left the club in good terms, as the manager explained his current situation. The left-footed midfielder tweeted:
Great to be here at #Burnley! Hoping to have a successful career here! Good luck to #FabriceMuamba and #Wigan! Muamba's reaction to Trippier's imminent transfer was pretty straight-forward. He said," Trippier is an excellent talent. Manchester City saw that in him, but they gave up on him and sold him to Burnley. He then had a great season and I saw a chance to sign a great player." This seems to be Ronnie Stam's replacement, as the current Wolverhampton Wanderers right-back left the club a few days ago.

Will Hughes and Carlos Fierro sign for Wigan

Derby midfielder Will Hughes has signed a 3 year contract with Wigan after impressing Fabrice Muamba in a trial conducted by him. In the other hand, Carlos Fierro only had to play a match to impress Fabrice Muamba. The player played for Chivas Reserves and scored twice before the half-time mark, a special request made by Fabrice Muamba, to negotiate a transfer fee with the 18 year old and the Chivas chairman. Both players are seen as future players, but Will Hughes will be looking to play more at Wigan than Fierro, as the Wigan strike force include Di Santo, Kone, Henriquez and Dicko. The most likely situation that Fierro will face will be a loan for some games under his belt and experience. Hughes joined from Derby on a 4.6 million deal and Carlos Fierro joined on a 3.9 million deal. This looks to have depleted Wigan's budget, but the manager believes that they can still raise some funds for future players. Fierro was seen sight-seeing all over the Midlands area with an expert translator, to facilitate a better stay in the area. Meanwhile, Hughes was seen celebrating with his family and close friend Mason Bennett in a private dinner.

Muamba's Debut

Queens Park Rangers vs Wigan Athletic – Premier League 18.8.2012

Queens Park Rangers v Wigan Athletic - 18.8.2012

Bad news here for Q.P.R. as Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar and Loic Remy will be unavailable for this match as they are ruled out because of their respective injuries. Though, Esteban Granero is in for Q.P.R. today, which will encourage Q.P.R. fans, because the Spanish midfielder has pulled all the strings in the pre-season for the R's. If the strong Wigan defence can control free-scoring striker Bobby Zamora for Q.P.R., they should stand a chance.

We're here at Loftus Road for the first competitive game of the season so far for rookie manager, Fabrice Muamba. The rookie manager have not even lost a game in the pre-season yet. The team led by Redknapp haven't taken any chances and has put up a great team. Both line-ups are below.

Here are the lineups for both teams:

Wigan Athletic (4-2-3-1): Al Habsi, Trippier, Ramis, Muniesa, Figueroa, Scharner, McCarthy, Maloney, Jordi Gomez, Hughes, Di Santo.

Real Madrid (4-4-1-1): Green, Bosingwa, M'Bia, Samba, Fabio, Derry, Jenas, Townsend, Ji- Sung Park, Granero, Zamora.

Strong lineups for both teams here. This match could be tense.

Commentary from Martin Tyler

1': Wigan get us underway here in the first round of the Premier League.

5': A comfortable midfield possesion here by Wigan Athletic, who are not giving Q.P.R. the ball. McCarthy slides it to Maloney who fakes and passes it to Jordi Gomez and he shoots! A terrible shot by the Spaniard. Goal kick for the R's.

14': Al Habsi passes the ball to Ivan Ramis, who plays it to Trippier. Trippier makes a run with the ball all the way from the right wing. He quickly passes it to Hughes, who is tackled by Fabio. The ball is finally touched by Q.P.R. Nice try for Wigan!

30': After a bad tackle by Scharner, Granero will be the man in charge to send the free kick. The former Real Madrid man swings the ball and finds Bosingwa right-foot! Bosingwa volleys and it's a goal! Q.P.R. Take the lead! Jose Bosingwa 1-0.

43': Corner kick for the West Midlands based club. Gomez sends the corner right into Di Santo's head and it's a miss! Di Santo is playing awful for Wigan today!

45: Half Time here at Loftus Road. It's been a horrible first half for the strikers who are letting Wigan and Muamba down. Muamba must be making changes if he wants to change the score line.

Looks like Muamba will be making a change! Di Santo comes off and Arouna Kone comes on. This substition will be interesting!

45' Franco Di Santo
Arouna Kone

45': Q.P.R. start the second half.

59': After a bad attack by Wigan, Green will restart the play from a goal kick. The former West Ham goalkeeper passes the ball to Bosingwa, who passes it to Granero. Granero passes it to Derry who quickly passes the ball to Zamora who is collided with Ramis. Ramis stays in the ground as Zamora continues and scores past Al-Habsi! Q.P.R. take a commanding lead! Bobby Zamora 2-0.

62' Ivan Ramis
Gary Caldwell

Muamba looks nervous here in his managerial debut. Can Wigan overturn the deficit to give Muamba a win in his debut?

67': Corner kick for Q.P.R. Granero sends the corner right into Caldwell's head and Will Hughes gets it! Hughes crosses the ball to Kone who is running up the pitch! Kone gets the ball and chips it over Green! Fantastic goal for Kone! Can he instigate a comeback? Arouna Kone 2-1.

Looks like the goal made by Kone won't be instigating a comeback. We are entering the 85th minute and the London based club look to pick the first three points of the Premier League. A happy debut for Harry Redknapp.

86': Goal kick for Q.P.R. Green sends the ball to M'Bia who tries to pass it to Derry, but Kone finds the ball earlier. He runs up into the box and hammers a shot past Green! GOAL for Wigan! A point secured for both sides! Kone will surely be Wigan's saviour! What a way to introduce yourself to your new club! Fantastic goal by Kone! Arouna Kone 2-2.

FT: Final time here at Loftus Road as Wigan will be happy with the result with Kone's late goal. What a debut by Kone!

Yeah! I may get Kone to tutor Fierro! Hughes will be playing a great part this season, comparing to Fierro! Thanks for reading and commenting Dark!

I'm pretty excited how Trippier will work out for the first season. Hughes and Fierro will play a bit-part role. Thanks for reading and commenting Jynx.

2013-04-27 02:10#95251 Glenn T : Brilliant signings Jeremy! Is it a coincidence both are David Beckham signings? ;)
Are they ;)? Heheh! Are you coming on just to leave a comment on my story? If it is, thank you Glenn, because it means a lot. If it isn't, I just wrote this for nothing. Nevertheless,
thanks for reading and commenting Glenn.

2013-04-27 03:01#95259 Shanked : Great comeback Jeremy, just need to work more in your first half performances.
Yeah I know :P. If I'd put Kone from the start I've could've won the match. But, I made a mistake by putting Di Santo on. The Bosingwa goal was pretty much on Figueroa as he failed to head the ball back. You should've seen it, it was the biggest fail I've seen. But, you gotta love Kone :P.

2013-04-27 03:02#95261 Sonalexwild : Nice update Jeremy and great comeback :D

Thanks, it did take me some time! It was worth it at the end! :P . Thanks for reading and commenting Alex :).
