A very precarious and edgy situation there mate you can do it though! Good luck Dean

Relegated Robins

After a battling preformance at Kenilworth Road, Carshalton were relegated from the Blue Square Premier division after a 2-2 draw.
Despite many people believing before kickoff that a result would see them stay in the division it proved not. Woking even managed to defeat AFC Telford which meant Carshalton climbed out of the relegation battle and once The Robin's fans got notice of this, the stadium erupted.

However it proved only to be a cruel joke as Barnet pulled off a sensational win against bottom club Grimsby to defy all the odds. The Carshalton players looked devastated once the full time whistle blew, a team widely expected to finish bottom only coming up short on the final day. Manager Gary Neville looked distraught as he spoke to us earlier.

"Football's a cruel game, It has reminded me off the last game of last season, thinking we had won the title until the last minute. This is a different feeling though, I don't know quite how to feel. I was confident we could stay up especially once Woking beat Telford but I'd like to be the first to Congratulate Barnet on their great achievement, nobody expected them to do it. I will have to sit down with the chairman and discuss my future at the club. I've already heard players saying they want to leave which I find disgraceful. I'm not sure about my own future at the moment"

The bookies have released latest odds and they indicate that Carshalton boss Gary Neville may well be on the verge of leaving the club he has spent 3 years with. Interest is thought to be high, with many league 2 and League 1 clubs looking at bringing the ex-England International to their dugout. A club press conference is expected within the next 48 hours.
:( So unlucky to go down, come straight back up and you'll have learnt a lot and you will survive easily :-D

Neville uncertain over future

Carshalton fans will not be assured that Gary Neville will be staying put at the club much longer as he commented saying he was "Undecided"
The comments were made in a local newspaper where Gary said that he had spoke with the board about next season and was "Unsure if they matched my ambitions". Tensions have been high at The War Memorial ground after Neville was linked with the vacant Peterborough Job.

The saga over the future of The Robin's boss has seemed to effected the players, with up to 3 squad members demanding transfers after the team were relegated. Gary was seemingly dissatisfied with the budget proposed to him for next season by the board.

Bookmakers have already totted up who may take the reigns at Carshalton, with current striker and club all time goalscorer Paul Vines favourite at 3/1.

Neville Steps down

After weeks of speculation, Gary Neville has resigned as Carshalton Athletic manager. Neville, who had spent the 3 previous seasons with the Robins won the Ryman League, gained promotion from the Blue Square south and also won the Surrey Senior Cup. He guided his team to their highest finish ever in their history, sadly resulting in relegation.

"It's been a pleasure working at this club for the last 3 years. I felt it was time to move on, I don't think I would have been the right man to lead this club back up. The growth the club have made has been amazing, especially under the tight budgets we have had in the last few seasons. Everyone at the club can be proud of what we have achieved and I'd like to thank everyone associated with Carhshalton. Hopefully I'll be back in management, but I'd like a break. Maybe I'll take a season off and see how it goes"

I enjoyed your time there, but I didn't really think it was the perfect club for you to stick with so I think you made a good decision.

What update have you used to enable you to manage teams in the Ryman premier league mate?
Go to the download section on this site and it should be in additional leagues

Neville appointed Preston Manager

Preston North End Chairman Lee Brooker has today announced that Gary Neville has been appointed manager on a 4 year contract.
The announcement was made just days after Keith Curle was sacked after just 9 months in charge. Preston have been dissapointing so far this season as the pre season promtion chasers sit 18th, with just 16 points from their 15 games.

Gary Neville was unable to take the traditional new job interviews as he had a league game against Shrewsbury just hours after taking over. Many see the appointment as a risk seeing as Gary Neville has never managed at such a high level.

Neville's point of view

What a day! Finally got a big break after years of earning my corn at Carshalton. The Npower League 1, what an honour. The club are expecting me to turn things around and I don't have much money to chop and change the squad. Hopefully I can get the best out of them, they must be just under preforming. I hardly know one player in the squad and now I have to lead them out in an hours time, crazy! Lets hope for the best anyway I'm sure I can turn this club around."
Wow didn't see that coming ;)
