Better, a much better month! Finally a month where I can look back on and go "Do ya know what, That was ok". The last few updates have been very difficult so I'm just glad I can write about something positive!
The month began as previous ones had, with defeats. Perhaps our worst result of the season came when we were knocked out by lower league opposition in a trophy that we were currently defending. The add salt to our wounds we put out a strong side and were forced through a grueling 120 mins which destroyed our fitness. This was followed up with an encouraging preformance against Hereford which we were narrowly defeated.
The game against Barnet was labelled a relegation 6 pointer but the football never lived up to the pre-match hype. A bore 0-0 but a point which pleased me. We then faced "The Impossible" with an away trip to Dartford and had we of lost we would have equaled the club longest run without a win in history of 15 games. We were dominated throughout the game but managed to withstand the pressure. We managed to snatch an unlikely late goal which saw me sprint onto the pitch in Jubilation! We desperately needed a win and we got it!
We followed our 3 points up with another astonishing result against high flying Woking. A 3-0 win and a polished preformance which makes me wonder why we haven't been playing like this all season. Nuneaton defeated us through a late winner which was a bit annoying, however we managed to do the same to bottom place Grimsby with a 90th minute equaliser.
Our preformances this month managed to lift us off the bottom of the table and gives us a shot of staying up. It will need a huge effort from all the players but we Need to build on this momentum!
