Pre-Season

After the highs of promotion, it took me a while to knuckle down and begin planning for our next adventure. We got an additional 2k to work with wage wise and I was expecting to bring in a lot of new faces. The reality was that it wasn't that simple. We brought in 4 players, including 2 that we had previously on loan the season before (Pett and Greenhalgh). Charlie Ward is a good centre back brought in as backup. Teddy Ngoy is the only signing I'm really happy with. He is now the best centre mid in our team and that's a position I have been looking for for quite some time.

Our preseason itself was fairly poor, hopefully we can pick it up in the league. The media have predicted us to finish 23rd. But we know whats happened when they predicted us to do badly before!

Nearly in the football league Dean :D

Don't worry about the preseason results, as Crawley is a strong team.

August

A new division, a higher standard! We began our league campaign with an away defeat to Dartford. Ola Sogbanmu, who had been injured for 8 months was given another chance by Gary Neville. He repaid his managers faith with a brace. The next four games The Robins knew what was expected of them and recorded wins against AFC Telford and Nuneaton. The undefeated run came to an end after they dominated Woking but could not find a goal. Overall a good first month and is something we can build on! The main aim this season is to stay up but secretly I would love to challenge for the playoffs.

Player of the month
After his long term injury, Gary Neville's backroom staff deemed Ola Sogbanmu surplus to requirements. The manager stuck by him and he managed a fantastic return of 4 goals in 6 league games. He was previously the clubs top goalscorer with 30+ goals 2 seasons ago.

League Table

Carshalton are 8th, 3 points off Playoffs
Great update Dean! The football league is expecting you next season!

Thanks Mate would hope so but 3 promotions in 3 years is asking a lot from the squad!
Great couple of updates Dean, hopefully you can still push for a playoff spot.

September

What a tough month! I think that set of results has taught us a lot about how we stand in this division. The previous 2 years we could afford to concede as we would always outscore our opponents. This division requires so much more quality! The one game we managed to get on TV was against our old foes from last season Bath, who managed to beat us to the title on the last day of the season. A great 3-3 draw showed the good and the bad sides of our game. The goal this season will be to stay in the league and hopefully next year build for promotion. The first real difficult time for manager Gary Neville!

League Table

Carshalton are 11th, 5 points above relegation
Great story! Things are going okay. Keep it up!

Avoiding relegation should be a difficult task, but you'll manage it!
