Really great work. I like how you have successfully transitioned from your Rubin Kazan story. Usually, it takes a couple of failed projects before you find another brilliant story. Keep it up.
Glenn T: N'aww Glenn, thank you :)

k1rups: And of course Mr Rups :P

Akash: Thanks pal. I was dreading having to work a few saves to get this going, I'm so glad it's happened immediately.

Tough Ties For United In Cup Draws

Following the draws of both the FA Cup Third Round, and the Semi Final of the Capital One Cup, Manchester United have realised they will need to step up their game in order to progress in both. The club have faced some tough times in both cups recently. They have have won a staggering 11 FA Cups, but having won it since 2004, losing out in the final in both 2005 and 2007. Moyes will be wanting to change that, while they haven't won the Capital One Cup since the name change, last winning the cup in both 2009 and 2010.

In the FA Cup Third Round draw, some tough games were made. Southampton vs Wigan will be a game to watch, with both teams fighting for similar positions in the league. Newcastle vs Liverpool is also set up to be a goal fest. Meanwhile, Manchester United have drawn Swansea City away. A trip to Wales won't be the easiest of games, but Moyes predicts they should be able to sail through to the next round. United beat Swansea 2-0 away earlier in the season, thanks to goals from Hernandez and Smalling.

In the Capital One Cup, only four teams remain. Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Burnley. The big three were all wanting Burnley, surely an easy route to the final. Out came the first team, who had play at home first. Chelsea. They wanted Burnley, other teams weren't sure. It was Burnley. So that meant, the Capital One Cup Semi Final would be a Manchester derby. City took the home advantage, but that meant the Reds could have 70,000+ supporters cheering them through the all important leg.

Moyes has expressed his unsure opinion on the Semi Final. He said 'City are a very tough side, and two games against them won't be easy. I can't wait to get into the games and live my first Manchester derby, and then do it again! Chelsea should ease past Burnley, so if we go beat our rivals, the final could still be a challenge. I strongly believe the boys can do it, and so do they.'

The FA Cup fixture against Swansea will be played on the 5th January, while the first leg of the Capital One cup will be on the 8th January, at the Etihad Stadium.
COME ON CITY! Easy draws much ;)
Swansea is OK, they're not bad, and not brilliant, but I feel for you in the League Cup.
Blue: City will die.

Lolba: It will definitely be a tough two games, especially played three days after Swansea!
Nice update there Devil and hope you can beat City ;) Swansea is not as tough so I expect a win there
Good luck with the cups. Go for the FA Cup, as that is definitely the better one.
away at Swansea is a hard fixture and City will be tough but I'm sure you will triumph.
k1rups: Thanks pal :D

Toon: Will do, definitely want to win that!

The Special One: Cheers buddy :)

December 2012 Results Part 1

The last month before my new signings arrive, and a very busy month. 8 games, including PSG in the Champions League, and Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool all in the league. Fitness levels could be an issue towards the end of the month, but we can still pick up alot of points.

Manchester United 0-1 Paris Saint-Germain

Tuesday 4th December 2012 - Champions League Grp C - Old Trafford - Att. 74,525

United Starting XI - De Gea, Smalling, Ferdinand, Vidic, Rafael, Fellaini, Carrick, Cleverley, Rooney, Lewandowski, Hernandez SUBS - Lindegaard, Jones, Evans, Giggs, Kagawa, Fierro, Scholes

SUBS - Giggs, Kagawa

GOALS - None

MOTM - Kolo Toure

Not a great game, but we have still done enough to get through to the knockout round (group table below). Kolo Toure seemed to come back to haunt us after leaving rivals City, while we didn't have any players who really stood out. Nevertheless, David De Gea made a lot of good saves, keeping the score from rising to 2 or 3. We need to be better in the knockout stages though.

Manchester United 1-1 Manchester City

Saturday 8th December 2012 - Barclays Premeir League - Old Trafford - Att. 75,765

United Starting XI - De Gea, Smalling, Vidic, Ferdinand, Rafael, Fellaini, Cleverley, Carrick, Rooney, Hernandez, Lewandowski SUBS - Lindegaard, Evans, Jones, Giggs, Kagawa, Fierro, Scholes

SUBS - None

GOALS - Vidic (49)

MOTM - Nemanja Vidic

The first Manchester derby this season, and for Moyes, and it wasn't a bad win. Dzeko took the lead on 26 minutes, but Vidic scored a great header from a Carrick corner to equalize. United then played a very defensive second half, not looking for any goals, and managed to take away a vital point at this stage. Roll on the Semi Final against them now!

Manchester United 2-0 Queens Park Rangers

Wednesday 12th December 2012 - Barclays Premier League - Old Trafford - Att. 73,088

United Starting XI - De Gea, Smalling, Vidic, Ferdinand, Rafael, Fellaini, Scholes, Carrick, Kagawa, Lewandowksi, Welbeck SUBS - Adan, Evans, Giggs, Hernandez, van Persie, Cleverley

SUBS - Giggs

GOALS - Kagawa (71, 80)

INJURIES - Scholes (Twisted Ankle, 2-3 weeks)

MOTM - Shinji Kagawa

Luckily, we got the three points. I thought we were heading for a draw, but Shinji came to the rescue to get a late brace. I'm happy with the performance still, we dominated the game, and rested quite a few big stars. However, we certainly need to improve in front of goal, and I hope to better soon. Nevertheless, a good win, and 3 more points. Come on you Reds!

Arsenal 0-0 Manchester United

Sunday 16th Decembeer 2012 - Barclays Premier League - Emirates Stadium - Att. 60,361

United Starting XI - De Gea, Smalling, Vidic, Ferdinand, Jones, Fellaini, Kagawa, Cleverley, Rooney, Lewandowksi, Hernandez SUBS - Adan, Evans, van Persie, Giggs, Rafael, Carrick, Rafael

SUBS - Rafael, van Persie

GOALS - None

MOTM - Rio Ferdinand

Another big club played, and another point collected. Although we are drawing quite a lot, they are tough teams, and collecting a point at the Emirates is never easy. Moyes decided to bring van Persie on in style, bringing him off the bench, followed by boo's from the Arsenal fans. Unfortunately he couldn't score, but did hit the crossbar in the dying moments.

League Table

Still second! But this could good, as playing tough teams in the league and staying there means we could have a slight advantage. Hopefully we can close the gap soon, but also creep away from the likes of Norwich and Tottenham. How Norwich are doing so well I don't know, with Everton now in 15th place after my departure.

Champions League Group Table

Second in another group. We are lucky to scrape through on goal difference, and although it's not I wanted, we're still through. However, being second, we're probably getting to get a good side, which will be a big challenge. I'm shocked Galatasary managed first, mainly predicted third, but off we go to the knockout rounds!

Player of the Month

Marouane Fellaini. Marouane Fellaini might not be on the score sheet every week, or claiming the man of the match award, but Fellaini is one thing - consistent. He is a player the club can always rely on to get the passes going, while helping out definisiely, and getting occassional assists. This month he has really stood out in the games, and not just because of his hair. So he's this months player of the month.
Finally read the story and it's awesome, espacially as City is winning the league ;)
Sonalexwild: Thanks pal, glad you like it. That won't be happening for much longer now.. :P
Decent month there mate unlucky against P$G but at least you qualified! Keep up the pressure on City and you'll snatch it away from them
