EMIRATES CHEERS GUNNERS ON TO QUARTER FINALS
ARSENAL 4-0 (6-2 AGG.) HAJDUK - H. KALDRIM, A. YARMOLENKO, J. WILSHERE, A. SCHÜRLLE
"Congratulations to Arsenal, it was a well deserved win, and they played remarkably to go through to the next round"

For a few minutes though... it looked like Wenger would be saying nearly those exact words. See, Bendiš had thrown a little surprise to try to mix Arsenal up. Fielding 16 year old Andrija Fiorentini in the back, Bendiš threw Antonio Mili?, a defensive midfielder, in between Mario Ljubi?i? and Tomi Kiš. Why? Well... he had nothing to lose.

And it nearly worked. A great tackle by Mili? early in the 1st half (which was, frankly, all Bendiš wanted) the defender made a quick pass to Tomi Kiš, who shot just over the bar, before, not 10 minutes later, Mirko Oremuš got an excellent shot saved by Fabianski. It could have been 1-0, 2-0 maybe for Hajduk. Even a goal would have been enough. See, Mili? wasn't there just to play defensive forward. Mili? will be the first of several switches if Hajduk scored to try to shut up shop

Alas, it didn't work.

Kaldrim scored just after Hajduk's second shot, with a magnificent run from the left side, to open the scoring, much to Bendiš's dismay, in the 12th minute. After that, it was all Arsenal, as the Gunners scored in the 15th (Schürrle), waited for the half, and then scored twice more in the second half (Wilshere, Yarmolenko).

And, with that, Bendiš bowed out of the Champions League, and, while the stadium filed out, the Hajduk fans... the few that came to London... sang songs of their heroes from the upper reaches of the stadium. Some of the Arsenal players stayed on the pitch and watched in awe, while the entire Hajduk team thanked the fans for everything.

Because, while for Arsenal, it will likely be another failed trophy attempt... for Hajduk, it was the greatest achievement in years. Sure, the 2nd round would have been nice. But for Hajduk... this was the most they had ever had. They had played at Bernabeau. They showed nothing but glory in Madrid. Amsterdam felt their wrath, and Basel fell.

But in Split? Hajduk showed nothing but love. Love to their team, love to their shirt, and love to their fans. And that's why, while Emirates, Bernabeau, San Siro, etc... are all so much larger, the tiny beauty of the Adriatic is one of the most revered venues in Europe... if not the world.

Welcome to Split, ladies and gentlemen... we'll see you next time

TOMI KIŠ MAY FINALLY DO IT
Tomislav Kiš knows heartbreak better than most footballers. A) He plays for Hajduk Split... and before Bendiš came to town, that was a disaster. The second part is a little meaner, though. See, Tomislav Kiš, who is easily one of the best players in the Croatian first division was second placed for the Golden boot two years in a row. The worst part? He was 19 at his first attempt. Had he scored one more goal, the Hajduk player would have been the youngest Golden boot in the short history of the Croatian first division, and one of the youngest (not checking those stats, forgive me) in the history of all the Balkan divisions and the former Yugoslavian First Division.

But he didn't. Last year, he was beaten by Danijel Cesarec, 31 for Rijeka, who even this season is making a play for the award... and the year before that, it was Dražen Jeli?. The 30 year old inexplicably managed to net 18 times for RNK Split... Still... the golden boot at 21 is quite the accomplishment. In fact, the last time anyone managed that was Goran Vlaovi?. Yes, that Goran Vlaovi?. 52 caps for Croatia and a 3rd place WC medal in 1998 Goran Vlaovi?.

And, while Kiš may not beat Eduardo's record of 34 goals in a season, the Hajduk player has plenty of time to make that happen. See, even at 21, he's been pounding them in at a record of nearly a goal a game, scoring once in 8 of his last 9 games.

The problem? Cesarec and Cibalia's hero, Édson are chasing him down.

Although, with Hajduk's (and Kiš's) recent form, he looks nigh impossible to catch...

[last 8 games]

ZADAR 1-1 HAJDUK - T. KIŠ
HAJDUK 3-0 RNK SPLIT - M. ?AKTAŠ, T. KIŠ, P. BAŠI?
HAJDUK 4-0 OSIJEK - G. MILOVI?, T. MUJAN, M. ?AKTAŠ, T. KIŠ
HAJDUK 3-3 ISTRA - G. MILOVI?, T. KIŠ, E. JANŽA
RIJEKA 3-5 HAJDUK - T. KIŠ, I. DŽONI (x3), P. BAŠI?
DINAMO 2-2 HAJDUK - I. DŽONI, T. KIŠ
HAJDUK 2-2 CIBALIA - I. DŽONI
SPLIT 1-4 HAJDUK - M. ?AKTAŠ (x3), T. KIŠ

When you look at the training pitch, Kiš and Džoni are nearly equals in skills. Both have a great shot and an even better run. But on the match, Kiš plugs along every day, while Džoni plays like a magician every once in a while... Ajax and Rijeka spring to mind. The funniest bit though, is that the Croatian "player of the season" award is given to the person with the most PotM awards throughout the season. It looks like it's going to be a longshot for any of Hajduk's players, but ?aktaš, Kiš, and Milovi? are all tied at three, while Cesarec now has 5.

Even so. A Golden Boot would be the perfect cherry to Kiš's perfect season... even without the golden ball... THAT award is a smidge more arbitrary... and the history shows, as it has gone to much younger players than the Golden Boot... notably, Niko Kranj?ar at 19.

MEANWHILE... THAT IS A BRILLIANT QUARTERFINAL DRAW
FENERBAHÇE (TUR) - FC BARCELONA (ESP)
SS NAPOLI (ITA) - ARSENAL FC (ENG)
CHELSEA FC (ENG) - FC BAYERN MüNCHEN (DEU)
REAL MADRID C.F. (ESP) - A.C. MILAN (ITA)
Great update! Kiš looks quite the player for a 21 year old too.
Good results and great update. Kis is a superb prospect.
Unlucky lose against the Gunners :(

HAJDUK 7-1 DINAMO - T. KIŠ x3, P. BAŠI? x2, M. OREMUŠ x2
FEREN?INA FIRED, BANNED, KIŠ HATTRICK AND EPIC DERBY FOR THE TITLE. WHAT A GAME!
Tomi Kiš bounced back to the top scorer chart with his first hattrick in God knows how long, while youngster Pero Baši? got two, including Hajduk's first DFK goal of the season, and Mirko Oremuš continued an unbelievably good run of performances.

Pero Baši? opened the scoring before Tomi Kiš finally got to the ball, dribbling past, not one, not two, but THREE defenders, scoring against a hapless Ivan Kelava. Kiš scored again, off a sliding tackle in the box, and then, a overhead kick from just inside the box finished him off before the half.

The half came and went, and Oremuš scored two, to bring it up to 6 after the 60th minute, before Pero Baši?, finished it off.

Now, let's be honest... while the fans were thrilled with the game on the pitch - their heroes had just smashed their rivals by a record breaking margin - the best match was on the touchline. Bendiš and Feren?ina were at odds at nearly every play, with the two managers becoming ever more aggressive. Feren?ina lost it after Kiš finished off his hat trick, screaming at the manager of Hajduk, who was altogether more intimidating.

Then, as Dinamo lost their last goal in the 90th minute, Feren?ina stormed onto the pitch, and shoved Pero Baši?, who tripped and nearly fell. Feren?ina didn't see what was coming after that though, as a flying Bendiš charged and tackled a diminutive Feren?ina, before Goran Blaževi? and Mario Malo?a pulled him off.

Then, Anderson Aquinho, currently in 2nd place for Top Goalscorer award, punched Tomi Kiš (who is currently leading) knocking him down, before Goran Milovi? (significantly bigger) got up and took the Brazillian out. The stadium security could only do so much, as the fans started flooding the pitch. This was a rivalry, and the fans were not about to allow their biggest enemies to try to fight their heroes.

Aquinho, quickly realizing his mistake, dashed for the few Dinamo fans on the stadium, quickly followed by most of the rest of the team, leaving Feren?ina for the Hajduk fans. The team involved with the brawl made their way up the now deserted stands, and into the city streets... left to fend for themselves...

Hajduk's (notoriously well behaved) fans caused no more trouble, except protecting their team from Dinamo's fans. But the damage was already there...

Aquinho and Ivan Kelava were banned for 3 matches, Milovi?, Mijo ?aktaš, and Erik Janža were banned for one. Roy Feren?ina was banned for a season, before being relieved of his position. Although that limp is going to last him a while longer than the ban...

The good thing?

Hajduk won the title
Wow! 7-1? What a win (And sounds like an epic brawl too)
What an epic way to win the title! :D

"FIND HIM!"
"No Timmy, stop. You can't do this." It was the one man who had the authority to ask Bendiš to stop. But he wasn't having it...

"NO ONE LAYS A FINGER ON MY PLAYERS. FIND HIM"

Feren?ina had dashed off into the sunset of Poljud, following Aquinho. Somehow, he had managed to get away from the increasing mob, and the pitch invasion had provided enough distraction. But Bendiš saw that he had left. And Bendiš tried to chase after him, but players and fans clamored over him. He finally managed to push his way out and chased after him.

And as he left the stadium, his best friend picked him up, and let Bendiš drive. He was a maniac behind the wheel, but he was a fantastic driver. The little Fiat careened out from the stadium drive, as it circled around the area, looking... searching... But Feren?ina, and frankly Dinamo, were gone. In fact, the only thing left was Dinamo's team bus. Bendiš anticipated that none of the players actually used the team bus, which was probably why the entire team was money-grubbing mercenaries who hated each other.

But he hadn't time to fix Dinamo's problems. He was chasing the man trying to make problems in Split. Then, his phone rang. Bendiš's phone rarely rang, he dealt with people in person, not because Bendiš didn't answer his phone, or they didn't know his number. No, people liked to watch Bendiš talk. He was an animated talker. But this time, it rang... and Bendiš picked that up faster than a 10 at his café.

"He's on the promenade. He's still running, but he's trying to get to the ferries..."

The little Fiat screamed, sliding around the corner. God only knows what Bendiš put in that car, but it wasn't stock. The stadium was less than 2 minutes away from Bendiš's café, and with that speed, Bendiš could get there in one.

Meanwhile, Feren?ina had just past the Diocletian's Palace in Split, and entered the Riva promenade. He was being watched, but there was a ferry leaving very soon, and he might be able to make it out of the town. He stopped in the shadows, composed himself, and kept going. He heard sirens in the distance, trying to stop the pitch invasion, and trying to make it stop flowing out onto the streets... But for now, he was fine. He passed Bendiš's café, and saw the waitress sitting outside... smoking slowly, with the main phone line trailing from inside the café to her table. She watched him intently, following him with her big brown eyes, but didn't move. Either she had already called, or she didn't recognize Feren?ina.

He moved a bit more in the shadows and kept walking, he wanted to stay in the dark as the sun was setting, even if it took him a bit longer. Despite there not being very many people out, a few started to pour out from their homes to celebrate the game, and the title... He didn't want to be seen, and he continued down the road. He was almost at the end, just a few seconds from freedom when he heard it behind him: the screech of tires against the stone tiles. Feren?ina turned, a small car skid from a tiny alleyway onto the main promenade, and nearly slid into the water, with one wheel even going off the road and over the water. It held steady though, and Feren?ina, seeing who was driving, ran for his life.

In a few seconds, though, Bendiš had caught up... and sending the little car into a spin, stepped out of the car and ran after the little American. Towering over Feren?ina, and in top physical state, he caught up, grabbed him around the neck and swung him around. Feren?ina got one long look into Bendiš's eyes and saw fury. He had never seen such anger before or since, and, from that moment, he felt more scared than he had ever felt in his entire life. He had been so close to the ferry. He was maybe 20, 30 paces away.

"HOW DARE YOU?"
-terrified murmuring
"NO, THAT WAS NOT RHETORICAL, YOU FUCKING MORON. ANSWER ME: HOW. DARE. YOU!?"
-more murmuring
*throws Feren?ina* "I WILL NOT LISTEN TO YOUR BLUBBERING ALL NIGHT. I DID NOT WORK AS HARD AS I DID TO HAVE TO CHASE YOUR SKANKY ASS AROUND MY TOWN!"
-"I-I'm s-sorry"
"NO."

Bendiš wiped a tear from his face.

"No. Unfortunately Mr. Feren?ina, that is not how it works. See... you're not in the civil world anymore. You see this, look around. *gestures everywhere* Everything you see is my kingdom."

*pulls Feren?ina really close, and whispers into his ear*

"Welcome to my world, Mr. Feren?ina

"RULE 1: YOU DO NOT LAY A FINGER ON MY PLAYERS.
"RULE 2: REFER TO FUCKING RULE 1.
"RULE 3: IF YOU FAIL TO ABIDE BY THE RULES, YOU WILL PAY DEARLY

"because look THE FUCK AROUND. YOU SEE THIS? YOU SEE EVERYONE HERE? (a small crowd had gathered)

-"I'm sorry... it won't happen again"

"YOU'RE DAMNED RIGHT IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN" as he launches Feren?ina from his grasp, before chasing him down, "DO YOU KNOW WHY IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN? HAVE A WILD GUESS"

-"No Bendiš, you won't do this again. I saw you right after the first time you did that agent of yours. You didn't win for months. You wouldn't do this to your team. You couldn't.

"You think so, really? WELL GUESS WHAT. YOU'RE WRONG *SMACK* I CAN DO THIS TO YOU *SMACK* AND THE ONLY PERSON WHO WILL LEAVE THIS UNSCATHED WILL BE *SMACK* ME! I GET TO *SMACK* TAKE A NICE, FUCKING LONG VACATION TO MY *SMACK* HOME DOWN SOUTH, WHILE YOU GET TO FILL OUT *SMACK* UNEMPLOYMENT FORMS. AND BE HAPPY IT'S NOT GOING TO BE *kick* DISABILITY FORMS

"-You IDIOT, YOU THINK THIS IS GOING TO CHANGE?", Feren?ina managed to finally get up, "YOU THINK YOU CAN BEAT ME JUST LIKE THAT, AND CHANGE THE WORLD? JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE 'ALL THAT'"

At that moment, Feren?ina took his first, and last swing at Bendiš, grazing his chin. Bendiš grabbed Feren?ina again in his follow through, before throwing him to the ground, just at the edge of the harbour, and beating him mercilessly.

"Careful Roy... it's rather dangerous to use one's entire vocabulary in a single sentence."

He started walking away, before he turned around and spit at the former Dinamo manager.

Bendiš flicked a cigarette to the ground as a boat's horn trumpeted in the distance., "Better hurry... you've got a ferry to catch."
wow. What an update...
Wow full on update there, but Ferencina sounds like a bit of a wimp. Like the writing very funnny :P
