Nope ;)
Congrats on Story of the Month! I really love your writing and this story as a whole, it's absolutely brilliant. Keep it up Timmy, and go Hajduk! :D
Thank you for all of the support for the Story of the Month. Fortunately, I'll be the only one continuing a story from one month to the next, so it has to be a favourite this month...

Unless Glenn or Or show up to play...

Funny... the new month starts as the new season starts... to victory lads... to victory

"Sir, Massimiliano Allegri here to see you."

"-Who?"

"Massimiliano Allegri... AC Milan. He's here with *checks notes* Vittorio Mentana..."

"-Tell them Tomi Kiš isn't for sale. They don't need him anyway... they have Destro and Pato."

"They insist Mr. Bendiš. I presume it isn't a good idea to reject Allegri in this business."

"-mmm... fine, show them up."

-------------------

"Welcome to Split Massimiliano, Vittorio... it's a pleasure to meat you."

"-Buongiorno Signor Bendiš, this is a lovely café you have here. If only my office was as pretty, perhaps we would win a double or two... mmm?"

"Very funny Massimiliano. It does get a bit cold in the winter. Seeing as it's outside. It is lovely in Split during the summer though. Are you just passing through?"

"-Ah no Signore... we are here strictly on business"

"Then you must understand that Kiš's release clause is firm. Unless you are willing to come up with 9 zeroes... he is on a 6 year contract... He's also very happy here. I doubt he's going anywhere. It's a pleasure doing business with you... but *begins to stand*"

"-Ah no Gianni... no no... we understand your position on Kiš. Important player, and so on and so forth. We are not run by Daniel Levy, and we have no intent on unsettling your player purely so you are forced to sell at an unreasonable sum...

"No... We are here to submit a bid for Mijo ?aktaš. Here is 8.75 million euros in cash."

At that moment, Vittorio, who had been silent so far, except for ordering a coffee, took his briefcase from under the table, and opened it on the table. The Gucci case, naturally, nothing less for the Italians, was full of 500 € notes. Bendiš, and his best friend, had never seen so much money in one place in their lives. Nearly 9 million euros was sitting on their table. Bendiš just nearly lost his cool. That was nearly 20% of the value of his club... sitting there... on the table. It would be as if someone set 300 million euros on the desk of Florentino Perez's office. Even he might flinch.

"-I'm sorry Massimiliano, but we have to reject. The fans will kill me, he is an icon at Hajduk. He's brought us through thick and thin."

"You'll find, Gianni, that, at this point in time, you don't have much of a choice. You see... you have four release clauses at your club. Yours, Goran Blaževi?, who, at 32 is truly irrelevant, Tomi Kiš, which, at 1.15 billion is completely unreachable, and Mijo ?aktaš. ?aktaš, incidentally has a release clause of 8.75 million. And, incidentally... you have exactly that much sitting on your table.

"I'm sorry to have to do this to you. You seem to have plenty to fill his spot. You have a youth academy so many would kill for.

"Best of luck, Sr. Bendiš... have a nice season."

Dino Kluk has moved on from Hajduk, as the Dalmatian club brought him to the bigger stage in Croatia. He moved to Zagreb to play for the eponymous club for 70K

It wasn't all bad though. Bendiš did offload Mario Ti?inovi?. His previous stint at the club was arguably much more successful, and, despite two league titles, Bendiš deemed him surplus to requirements. Düsseldorf was the only one to stump for the wages though, even though they got him on a free. 500K a year though, is still nothing to laugh about.

Hrvoje Maji? moved to Pescara to continue his prolific campaigns in Europe. Yet to make a senior appearance for his youth club, he has had an excellent campaign in France, and hopes to follow it up in Italy.

Right now, Hajduk have 22 players, as Mirnes Trifkovi?, Slovenian young player of the year 2016 was signed on a free last year, and looks to make his first first team steps for the club.

Did you not want to renegotiate his contract to give him a higher release clause? Either way, it's a very large sum, and it should do well to help your team if you can re-invest it properly. I also must get your secrets on how to create a proper youth academy, I was never able to do that at Everton.

Thanks for the plug, too!

He wanted 1.1M a year... which isn't acceptable, especially since I have Pero Bašić just waiting for a chance to play. Bašić has 4.5 stars potential, so, all he needs is a season or so. Čaktaš only hit 3.5. I honestly didn't realize he had a release clause until AC Milan had already bid (1.7M a year, incidentally) and by then, it was too late

What AC Milan see in him is beyond me

OH, COME ON
Bendiš and his girlfriend were enjoying the beaches of Monaco before the draw of the Champions League. Bendiš, well known in the jazz circles and was invited to play in a small show for the royal family in a café near the palace, so they made it there before the match, before the lovely Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco, escorted the two of them down to the presentation center for UEFA's annual "event".

It was a popular thing. This was the first time that Bendiš invited his girlfriend, and she seemed to be reveling in the star studded attendance. But, as usual, the U19 and coaching staff was up in the balcony having a great time, while Stijepan Andrijaševi? sat next to the couple for the draw.

This year, it was Josip Sklobar, OM's 55 goal in a season Croatian forward, drawing alongside Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid's current director of football, drawing the teams.

It was relatively mundane. After the 2nd round, only a few groups looked threatening. Chelsea and Juventus were in Group A. Liverpool and Real Madrid were in Group B, while the current champions, OM, faced Bayern. And finally, in Group H, where Manchester City and AC Milan got drawn together. Mancini to face Allegri.

The third seeds were coming along nicely: Russian giants were drawn along Juve and Chelsea, but Hajduk wasn't being drawn until the end. Along with Milan, and Manchester City.

It was silent, but eagle eyed Croatian audiences caught Bendiš swearing quietly to himself. This was not an easy group. Perhaps the easiest matches would be against AC Milan. Fortunately his 4th seed would probably be easy.

PSV. Of course. You didn't have to be all that eagle-eyed to spot it this time, as he went on for more than a sentence.

But well... maybe he pulls it off. Bendiš seems to get drawn in the Group of Death every year...

PERO BAŠI? PROVES HE'S AS GOOD, MAYBE BETTER THAN ?AKTAŠ
SLAVEN BELUPO 2-4 HAJDUK
HAJDUK 5-0 RIJEKA
A man of the match performances from Pero Baši? showed exactly what Hajduk had lost when AC Milan bought Mijo ?aktaš for a club record fee. Absolutely nothing. The home-grown player, who moved from Šibenik has made a fantastic two performances, and his ratings are just going to be massive.

Perhaps the only person who's doing better for the Croatian club, who boast an amazing 23 home grown players for their 25 man registered squad for the UEFA Champions League, is Tomi Kiš.

Good Luck in a group of death! :) Basic looks awesome too! :D
Group of death looks brutal :/ Knowing the legendary Bendiš and Kiš combination, though, Hajduk will make it through :)
Nenad Gra?an gave a pre-match press conference for the Hajduk - Dinamo derby in Zagreb:

"Look, I know we were just relegated, but that was under the previous manager. I'm the boss that took Dinamo to a league title. Granted, it was the second league, but it gave the players their belief back. Hajduk don't stand a chance against us, especially not at Maksimir. I mean, seriously... come on."

http://i49.tinypic.com/fx6t1i.jpg
"HA, FUNNY MAN THAT GRA?AN IS"
DINAMO 0-3 HAJDUK
A Goran Blaževi? clean sheet, his third in a row, complimented a brace from, arguably, the best player in Croatia at the moment, gave Hajduk an excellent derby win in Zagreb, as the Champions League players put a strong performance in prior to their PSV match. Tomi Kiš, who is on a fantastic run of form, with 8 goals in 7 matches and an 8.11 average rating, scored two, as Mario Ljubi?i?, widely regarded as Croatia's second best striker, scored one, equal Kiš's tally, albeit with an 8.09 average rating. The two strikers are both in amazing form. But Ljubi?i? still has a bit to go before the media starts wishing for a Ljubi?i? lead Croatia.

(And yes, Kiš is finally Croatia 1st team. He scored his 5th goal for Croatia as Belarus smashed them, 4-1.)

DRAW IN EINDHOVEN IS ALL SORTS OF AMAZING
PSV 3-3 HAJDUK
Hajduk scored on the brink of half time with an amazing goal, before the Dutch league leaders came up with an excellent two goals just before the hour mark to put them in the lead, much to Bendiš's despair. He went into an immediate change, and threw Ton?i Mujan, Teo Pesi? and Ivan Džoni on at the same time. And it gave nearly immediate results. 10 minutes later, the lightning quick Mujan appeared (almost from thin air) on the left flank, and put it past the Dutch keeper. And then... in the 80th, it was Tomi Kiš.

Then, it was the PSV's manager's turn to throw up his hands. The crowd could here the comments from the stands. "Of COURSE it's Kiš. That idiot over there *points at Bendiš* has been raving about his stupid [sarcastically] "Golden Boot winning striker" OOOOHHHH. Fuck that shit. How the hell does that guy score. YOU *points at random staff member* WENT TO THE TRAINING CAMPS! You told me he WASN'T WORTH PAYING ATTENTION TO, and that you had "NO IDEA WHY HE SCORES... it must be that the Croatian league is ESPECIALLY BAD". What were you doing, flirting with the Croatian girls?

"Fuck me. I could have gone to Croatia for a month and done that... I HOPE THE SEX WAS GOOD"

PSV did rescue the point in the last minute, but they still need to come back to Croatia, where Hajduk, and Kiš, will especially be on game.

Final: PSV 3-3 Hajduk, Manchester City 3-1 AC Milan
Lol :))

KIŠ!
HAJDUK 3-0 ŠIBENIK - T. KIŠ x2, M. OREMUŠ
Hajduk sold out their stadium for the 3rd time in 8 league matches, after years and years and YEARS of failing to fill out the stadium, as Tomislav Kiš, the hero of Split, scored two more and got his magnificent 4th man of the match award. One would think that Kiš would have absolutely no trouble whatsoever in winning the Top Goalscorer award this season, with 10 goals from 8 matches. And yet, Mario Ljubi?i? is chasing him quite closely, with 8 from 8.

And with, by far, two of the greatest goalscorers the league has ever seen ON THE SAME TEAM, how, and who will beat them this season is far from eminent, as Hajduk have already beaten 8 of the other 9 teams in the league.

Although, a nice statistic is that, currently, Kiš is on a "goal drought" if he doesn't score every 70 minutes...
