KIŠ RENEWS HAJDUK CONTRACT
Just one year after signing a 5 year contract extension, Kiš extended it an additional year, for a lot more money. It doesn't look like the smartest move in the book on the management's side of things until you take a look at the context.

See, before Kiš signed the new contract, there was some serious interest in the Croatian forward from Liverpool, Paris, Dortmund and Tottenham. The English champions looked at it as a younger, better, cheaper version of Fabio Borini, while Paris, who until a month ago were interested in Borini, thought pretty much the same thing, except they had the financial muscle to break Hajduk.

And it looked like it wouldn't be so hard. See, Kiš's agent managed to get a release clause into the original 5 year shenanigan, amounting to 24.75 M €. Sure, it breaks Hajduk's transfer income record several times over. But, Kiš is one of the best Hajduk players in years. This is the youngest player in the history of Croatia to have a 30 goal season, with all signs pointing to the fact that he will get even better.

No, the real reason Hajduk is giving Kiš a 300 000 € raise is to get rid of two clauses. 1.) The infamous "match highest earner" clause. Bendiš just hates that. And 2.) the 24.75 M € release fee. Kiš's agent, however, insisted on a release clause... and he got one...

1 150 000 000 €. Cash.

Your move Ancelotti.
NOT PART OF THE STORY

I'd like to sincerely thank everyone who follows my story. I remember when the original Adriatic Adventure had 2 readers. So I'd like to thank everyone for making this happen. I never thought back-to-back SotM nominations was possible :)

Thanks again, let's keep on going!
Bendis! I have no idea why this story is still only on 4k views! It is possibly the best on site! Another great update, keep it up!
Blow Ancelotti a Kiš :P
Best striker in all of Croatia has signed a new contract! :D

TOMI KIŠ IS BACK
HAJDUK 2-1 PORTO
Abel Hernandez took the lead for Porto in the 20th minute, and it looked like they would continue dominating the Croatian champions. But, at 4 to 1 odds, Hajduk had another thing coming.

The fans didn't think so though. Their hero, Tomi Kiš wasn't scoring as he normally was. He was providing excellent assists, as evidenced in Hajduk's tennis score (6-3) against Zadar. If anything, the talismanic poacher has become a more complete player over the summer.

But Bendiš didn't want that. Kiš was his goalgetter, and Kiš knew that. Tomislav knew that he had to start scoring, and, come the thirtieth minute, he turn on the flair. Kiš jinked past a helpless Nicolás Otamendi, and placed the ball past Fabío, to equalize the score, 1-1 just before halftime.

And, Hajduk were still going strong, with Danko Ravni?, exhausted as he was, replacing Antonio Mili?, and going for a wild clearance. Somehow it worked, and Tomi Kiš, again with the ball, went right through two defenders before smashing the ball into the top corner of the net. Hajduk held strong for another 20 minutes, but, in the first minute of extra time, Blaževi? had to make an extraordinary save to keep Hajduk in 3 points.

It does save Hajduk though, as they had barely lost against Dortmund in Germany, with a massive scoreline just favouring the Germans, 4-3.

SAMPDORIA - 3 PTS - GD: +1
HAJDUK - 3 PTS - GD: +-0
FC PORTO - 3 PTS - GD: +-0
DORTMUND - 3 PTS - GD: -1
Good comeback pal :D
Nice comeback TB, waiting for the next update :)

2ND DIVISION DINAMO KICK OUT TRIPLE DOUBLE WINNERS
DINAMO 2-2 HAJDUK, DINAMO WIN 4-3 ON PENALITES
The former Croatian champions from the north, who haven't won a competition since 2012, and haven't even been close to the Croatian Cup win in five years, kicked out Hajduk, who were chasing their fifth consecutive double run.

But Hajduk, no matter how strong they were, couldn't get the ball at the goal, and although they opened early, with Toni Topi? coming in from the right, and got a second goal reasonably quickly, Hajduk conceded two incredibly stupid goals, and Dinamo fought them off.

And, against all odds, Dinamo held on to the Hajduk roller coaster. They did it through 90 minutes, and then held on for another half hour. But then, they weren't done. The 2nd division players took Hajduk to penalties... and Goran Blaževi? hasn't had practice at that for a while. Dinamo scored 4 in a row, while Hajduk missed two, to give Dinamo a break... a break from the hell they've been through.

Although, to be fair, Liverpool got relegated two seasons before they won the Premier League...

In any case, this is the first time during Bendiš's nearly 5 years in charge that Hajduk haven't challenged for the Double.
Oof, how unfortunate. Those kinds of things happen in FM though, don't let it get you down!

HAJDUK IN 2ND AFTER 4
SAMPDORIA 2-1 HAJDUK
Sampdoria scored in the last minute to bring Hajduk down from first.

In the first fixture, Hajduk thumped Sampdoria at home, 4-1, and their home performance was nothing short of amazing. The Croatian champions were calm, efficient, and their scoring talent was unbeatable. With four different goal scorers, Sampdoria took it like a dirty, dirty girl, and Hajduk looked on the money for qualifying further.

And even in the match in Genoa, Hajduk looked like they would keep smashing the Italian defending champions (now 8th), as Ivan Džoni took an excellent goal in the first half. But the Italians lasted the distance. Angelo Palembo, still inexplicably playing at 35, scored in the 72nd, before the bastards scored in the 92nd, taking Hajduk from 9 points they had at the half to 6 at the end of the second.

Porto are in first, after beating Dortmund twice, with 9. Hajduk took a smash and grab victory against Porto, while Sampdoria are at 6.

MEANWHILE...
Barcelona and Liverpool fought out double draws (1-1 at Anfield, 3-3 at Camp Nou) to keep Liverpool in 3rd in the group of death, with 5. Lyon is 2nd with 7, while Barcelona is 1st with 8.

Ajax are one of three clubs with perfect records after 4, beating United, Sevilla, and Sherrif. Real Madrid and PSG are the other two clubs. Real Madrid top a group with Fenerbahçe and Red Bull Salzburg, and Tottenham (in last with 3). PSG top Lokomotiv Moskva, Shakhtar, and Zaragoza.

AND IN THE REST OF EUROPE...
ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

FRENCH LIGUE 1

GERMAN BUNDESLIGA

SPANISH LIGA BBVA

DUTCH EREDIVISIE
Dayum, Watford :P
