Roberto Mancini: "Juventus Don't Have The Quality"

Roberto Mancini speaking ahead of the final.

Roberto Mancini, current manager of Manchester City, spoke to the press conference ahead of the long awaited Champions League final. The former Inter player spoke about transfer speculation, his opponent's manager, Pavel Nedved and much more..

Juventus, fresh of winning the Coppa Italia, Serie A and the Italian Super Cup, do not have the quality to win the Champions League ahead of their clash against Manchester City, according to Roberto Mancini. The Italian manager, who spoke to the conference before the match, said,"Juventus are a team that simply, do not have the quality to have reached so far. They've been lucky, as they've had easy opponents throughout the season." As the conference continued, the manager brought up an awkward topic, by saying,"Juventus have a bad track record with refs and some calls have been weird and in favor to Juventus." Surprised by what Mancini said, an Italian reporter threw his shoe and tackled the manager, before being escorted out of the press conference.

Since winning the Premier League last year, the Citizens hasn't had much trophy success. However, they are in the final in this year's edition of the Champions League, which could see Manchester City win it for the first time.

Many fans from both Juventus and Manchester City are furious, as they know that Juventus' draws have been everything but easy. Having faced Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester United and Valencia before reaching the final, only losing once, to the latter away. A Manchester City fan in London, ahead of the Champions League final said,"Mancini is making a fool out of himself. We all know that Juventus have proved that they aren't a team that can be pushed or that they can't be easily beaten. They have lost only once this season, and that happened because they fell asleep during the Valencia match." Another fan said,"He is making us look bad, as we all know that the fixture list given by Juventus has not been easy. Of course, we haven't been given an easy fixture, but both teams fully deserve to be here. What he said about the referees was way out of place, and he should definitely receive some sort of action."

UEFA has also decided to take actions on Mancini's aggressive stance against Nedved and Juventus, by giving the Manchester City manager a 3 match ban after the final. Not only that, but UEFA has handed a £80,000 fine to Mancini and an extra £20,000 to Manchester City, for letting the manager speak that way. Whether Manchester City representatives will appeal against UEFA's ban on their manager remains unknown.

For the first time in a long time, I agree with Mancini!
@Neal: Shush it, he's a sh*te manager imo :P. Losing to Wigan and sheez.
Don't diss my Wigan! Oh well, go Juventus and if you don't win, I will cry for you. :) Haha I am deadly serious.
But ehhhh, I am Roberto Mancini, ehhhhhh, yeah.

Champions League Final

Manchester City vs Juventus F.C. – Champions League Final - 25.05.2013

With Juventus finishing off the Serie A unbeaten, Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup, they will be looking to add their 3rd Champions League trophy to their cabinet, but first under Pavel Nedved.

With Juventus's goalscorers in this competition, Edinson Cavani, Mirko Vucinic, and Mamadou Sakho possibly lining up today the team led by Mancini will have it harder, as all of the team is star-studded.

We're here in London at the [b Wembley Stadium for the Champions League Final, which will see Juventus and Manchester City facing each other for the European crown.. This final will be held at new Wembley, and potentially the first Champions League title that Manchester City manager,Roberto Mancini will bring at Manchester's City's trophy cabinet. But, Juve, who are faced Roma some days ago with their second team, will be very strong tonight.

Here are the lineups for both teams:

Juventus F.C. (3-1-4-2): Buffon, Bonucci, Chiellini, Sakho, Pirlo, Vidal, Marchisio, Lichsteiner, Asamoah, Cavani, Vucinic.

Manchester City (4-2-3-1): Hart, Maicon, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Fellaini, Barry, Kaka, Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko.

Surprisingly, Juventus have a lot of their players that played against Roma in their substitues bench! In the other hand, City have lined up experienced Brazilian player, Kaka and Gareth Barry ahead of Samir Nasri and Yaya Toure respectively. This will definitely be controversial for the Italian manager. This match could be tense, as both teams possess great players.

Commentary from Fabio Carressa

1': Juventus get us underway here in the Champions League final!

7' Buffon will restart the game with a goal-kick. He passes it short to Sakho, who passes it to Asamoah. Asamoah makes a run, and cuts into the middle. He makes a heel pass to Vidal, who chips it to Cavani, who is fighting off the pressure put into him by Lescott. He approaches Hart with the ball and chips him! GOAL! Edinson Cavani 1-0

7' Edinson Cavani

Dzeko and Aguero to restart the game.

12' Lichsteiner takes the throw-in to Pirlo, who passes it back. Lichsteiner clears the ball, who finds Vucinic! Vucinic alone in the right wing with Hart alone! He shoots to Hart's top left corner! He saves! Corner kick for Juventus

33' Clichy takes the throw-in.. He throws it to Fellaini, who passes it to Lescott. Lescott restarts with Hart. Hart clears.

34' Pirlo gets the ball from Hart's clearance, and gives it to Asamoah. Asamoah cuts into the middle, where he passes it to Vidal. Vidal passes it to Lichsteiner in the right wing. He chips the ball, where Marchisio slides and beats Lescott to the ball! GOAL! Claudio Marchisio 2-0

34'Claudio Marchisio

35' Doesn't look good for City, who are forced to restart the game for a second time.

Half time here at Wembley, where Juventus have a hand in the title. Without any spark in the midfield, Mancini's team are struggling to Nedved's 3-1-4-2 tactic. Will this be another year without a Champions League title at Manchester City, who still spend millions of pounds every year?

45': Manchester City start the second half.

After a dull second half, Juventus will make two changes, with Andrea Pirlo and Kwadwo Asamoah making way for Paul Pogba and Simone Padoin respectively.

78' Paul Pogba

78' Simone Padoin

81' Bonucci, weirdly will take the corner-kick. He whips in a perfect pass to Sakho who shoots! Milner gets in the way, but the ball finds itself into the back of the net! OWN GOAL! James Milner 3-0.

81' James Milner

82' Manchester City have definitely lost this final to Juventus and they will have to restart for the third time.

One minute added by the officials.

90(+1)' The ref ends the game! Juventus have done it! Juventus have done the quadruple, by winning the Serie A, Italian Super Cup Final, Coppa Italia and the European crown, the Champions League!

FT: Final time here at new Wembley where the favourites, Juventus dominated Manchester City the whole game. After what Mancini said, he will want to hide, as his team and himself were humiliated by Pavel Nedved's team. Cavani, Marchisio and a James Milner own goal helped Juventus to raise the Champions League title and take it home, for the third time. The team has won their fourth title, and has only lost a game in the whole season! Fantastic by Juventus and their manager, Pavel Nedved! Forza Juve!

Juventus T.V.: Youth Additions

Days after Juventus's Champions League success, Juventus manager, Pavel Nedved, called today an unseen press conference, which arose many football sites, such as Goal, Sky Italia and The Daily Mail. However, it was not the reporters dreamt, as Nedved wanted to introduce the four new additions to the Juventus youth team before the summer break.

First up to be presented was 15 year old French sensation, Eneko Alonso, who will join the Juventus U20 side in a few months, when the summer transfer window opens. The player, who had played 5 times in the A.C. Ajaccio U20 side, scoring 3 times, before catching the eye of Pavel Nedved. However, Juventus officials were in Ajaccio to negotiate a deal, before a £725,000 deal was struck to see the 15 year old move to Turin.

The second player that agreed to join Juventus is now former Belenenses youngster Antonio Alberto Anjos, who has been already capped for Portugal's U19 side. At the age of 16 and capped, it seems that Juventus have captured the next Cristiano Ronaldo. However, with the lack of experience by Anjos, you can see him join an affiliated team, which goes from Serie B side Siena, to San Marino, who plays in the Serie C1/A. As for the financial perspective, Anjos's team let him go on a free transfer, after Juventus put in a bid of £0, and was accepted.

The third player to join the youth side of Juventus was none other than Luis Carvalho, who joined from Vitoria Guimaraes. The 16 year old player first caught the eye of the media, after rejecting Sporting de Lisbon to join Vitoria de Guimaraes on a youth contract, which would later see him earn a move to Juventus. Nevertheless, the youngster has impressed in the youth side of Vitoria Guimaraes, who in various Youtube clips is similar to the age-ing midfield maestro, Andrea Pirlo. The player cost Juventus a fee of £650,000, which seems like a bargain for a player that can develop like Pogba and Marrone have done under Pavel Nedved.

As many say, the best was saved for last, as Nedved introduced Felipe Lopez, who had arrived from Juventus's fierce rivals, Real Madrid. The 16 year old player will be featuring in the reserve side for 6 months, before moving on to a affiliated side, according to Juventus manager Pavel Nedved. The defender impressed Real Madrid on a trial earlier this year, before being offered a youth contract, to play in the youth side, Real Madrid C.F. C. In May, Luciano D'Onofrio found the skilled player, and informed Pavel Nedved that this could be the next Fernando Hierro. After learning that Real Madrid had offered a professional contract to Lopez, Nedved personally went to Madrid and after some heated days of negotiations, a £4.5 million fee for the 16 year old was reached. Whether he will become a Juventus legend will be determined over the next years.
