Juventus T.V.: Youth Additions
Days after
Juventus's Champions League success,
Juventus manager,
Pavel Nedved, called today an unseen press conference, which arose many football sites, such as
Goal,
Sky Italia and
The Daily Mail. However, it was not the reporters dreamt, as
Nedved wanted to introduce the four new additions to the
Juventus youth team before the summer break.
First up to be presented was
15 year old French sensation,
Eneko Alonso, who will join the
Juventus U20 side in a few months, when the summer transfer window opens. The player, who had played 5 times in the
A.C. Ajaccio U20 side, scoring 3 times, before catching the eye of
Pavel Nedved. However,
Juventus officials were in
Ajaccio to negotiate a deal, before a
£725,000 deal was struck to see the 15 year old move to
Turin.
The second player that agreed to join
Juventus is now former
Belenenses youngster
Antonio Alberto Anjos, who has been already capped for
Portugal's U19 side. At the age of 16 and capped, it seems that
Juventus have captured the next
Cristiano Ronaldo. However, with the lack of experience by
Anjos, you can see him join an affiliated team, which goes from Serie B side
Siena, to
San Marino, who plays in the
Serie C1/A. As for the financial perspective, Anjos's team let him go on a free transfer, after Juventus put in a bid of £0, and was accepted.
The third player to join the youth side of
Juventus was none other than
Luis Carvalho, who joined from
Vitoria Guimaraes. The 16 year old player first caught the eye of the media, after rejecting
Sporting de Lisbon to join
Vitoria de Guimaraes on a youth contract, which would later see him earn a move to
Juventus. Nevertheless, the youngster has impressed in the youth side of
Vitoria Guimaraes, who in various
Youtube clips is similar to the age-ing midfield maestro,
Andrea Pirlo. The player cost
Juventus a fee of
£650,000, which seems like a bargain for a player that can develop like
Pogba and
Marrone have done under
Pavel Nedved.
As many say, the best was saved for last, as Nedved introduced
Felipe Lopez, who had arrived from
Juventus's fierce rivals,
Real Madrid. The 16 year old player will be featuring in the reserve side for 6 months, before moving on to a affiliated side, according to Juventus manager Pavel Nedved. The defender impressed Real Madrid on a trial earlier this year, before being offered a youth contract, to play in the youth side,
Real Madrid C.F. C. In May,
Luciano D'Onofrio found the skilled player, and informed
Pavel Nedved that this could be the next
Fernando Hierro. After learning that
Real Madrid had offered a professional contract to
Lopez,
Nedved personally went to
Madrid and after some heated days of negotiations, a
£4.5 million fee for the 16 year old was reached. Whether he will become a
Juventus legend will be determined over the next years.
