Friendlies & Rumours

It is rumoured that Hannover manager Beno Zeeb, has been given an affable transfer budget for January. The only difficult part to this is, where does Zeeb invest the money? His striking is pair have done an excellent job so far. His midfield is stacked. The defence is on point and his goalkeeper is one of the best in the league. The only places viable for a switch would be that of Huszti and Pinto's positions as they both creep to a depreciating age. Pinto being 32 and Huszti 29. All we know is that Zeeb has some decisions to make and that the fans will be anxious to see a quality signing to boost their run for Champions League Football.

Zeeb has already announced the expected transfer list. Christian Pande, who has been riddled with injuries makes the list being replaced by Rausch. Andreasen and Chahed remain on the list from August. Schlaudraff has failed to impress and with his advancing age he has also made the list.

So far for rumours the recently transfer listed Gaitan from Benfica has apparently caught Zeeb's eye. Especially for a cut price, this could be a strong replacement for Hannover's Hungarian Huszti. Along with Gaitan, Mainz's Shawn Parker has also apparently been linked with Die Roten.

Huszti is doing the business for you isn't he
2013-06-29 14:01#116654 P-KIDDY : Huszti is doing the business for you isn't he

Yeah but if I want to get Gaitan I have to sell him. Its a risk. :(
Good results so far in January, but let's say you indeed sell Huszti and get Gaitan in, will Gaitan be able to put in the same performance as Huszti is doing at this moment. Gaitan might failt at the start which could result in a loss of points. Or he gives an even better performance then Huszti and well no need to explain any further i guess

Huszti has recently passed his medical at Turkish club Galatasaray for an estimated 7.5m. Huszti joined Hannover for the second time in July 2012 after a successful run at Zenit St.Petersburg from February 2009. Huszti joined Zenit after they lost their Russian home bred Arshavin to Arsenal. In his first game for Zenit Huszti managed to score his first goal for the Russian side less than 2 minutes into his first official game against Stuttgart in the Champions League.

After his strong run at the Russian side Mirko Slomka (The current Hannover manager at the time) decided to bring the Hungarian back. Unfortunately he never got to play under Slomka once Zeeb took over as head coach at Hannover. Incidentally though Zeeb opted to use Huszti as his starting XI Left winger throughout the first half of the season over Sadio Mane.'

Unfortunately for Huszti it wasn't meant to last as in the past week Zeeb and Hannover officials have been given the opportunity to sign an unknown star player for the German side. Presumed younger than Huszti the negotiations are supposed to be offering a once in a life time sort of deal. Zeeb stated "I admire Huszti and all he has done for the club in earlier and recent times. It is true his performance lately has been phenomenal but, I expect the new player who will be announced soon to quickly replace the veteran and show what an investment he is."

It is rumoured that Hannover is interested in Wolverhampton's Bakary Sako, Benfica's Gaitan and Mineiro's Bernard.

NO, I love Huszti bring him back :P , 2 pretty poor games but still up their with Bayern and Dortmund. You should read my scout report on Gaitan in social scouting.
Sad to see Huszti go but I would definitely accept that fee.
Sign Gaitan mate he is brilliant. I had him at Arsenal and in first half of the season av rat of 7.40 and scored 8 goals and 6 assists.

After a ton of speculation and [predictions Nicolas Gaitan has finally joined Die Roten to replace out going Huszti. Unfortunately Gaitan has joined with a flu and won't be fit for his first game in the Bundesliga and will miss the fixture against Freiburg next week.

Gaitan has reportedly joined from Lisbon Benfica for an estimated fee of 9m Euros, plus extra's. This is a quarter of a million cheaper than Benfica's initial asking price of 9.25 which is predicted Gaitan's value to the club. So in all Hannover have struck lucky signing the Argentinian for as cheap as they did.

Zeeb released a statement after the news was made official on Hannover's website, stating "It is a pleasure to welcome a talent that of the calibre of Gaitan to the club. I am certain his career will be bright and long at Hannover and I also look forward to working with him."

Gaitan joined Benfica from Boca in the 2009-10 season. Since then he has racked up 53 appearances for the Portuguese club until this year where long time manager Jorge Jesus found him a surplus to requirements. Which found the Argentine on the transfer list in January 2013.
Brilliant signing!

After a few disappointing games in the transfer window, Hannover are looking to get back on track. Hannover have two important games where they must find their form that of earlier in the season. Since after these two fixture Hannover head to Malaga in Spain and they will need to put on a show to make sure Malaga crowd favorites Isco and Toulalan do not make a mess of their Europa aspirations. An added bonus to these games coming up is that after the 4th of February Senegal internationals Sadio Mane and Mame Diouf return. Hannover have looked stretched depth wise lately and the return of these two will definitely boost the side.
