Fabio Proceeds to Sign a Further 3 Players

Fabio Cannavaro has added a further 3 new faces to his squad as he continues to bolster the amount of options available to him for the new season. He has added Goalkeeper Mariano Andujar, Solid centre back Davide Astori and speedy winger Gabriel Torje to the Roma ranks. When speaking to us about the signings Fabio said this :

"I feel very proud to have signed these three superb professionals. Mariano will be understudy to Rui and will fill in whenever Rui is injured, he will also play cup matches and midweek matches. Gabriel is also backup, for Erik Lamela, but may end up being first choice on the other Attacking midfield role depending on how well my first choice performs. Finally Davide Astori is going to become part 1 of my Central Defensive partnership alongside Mehdi Benattia who was signed by the previous manager."

Twitter Q and A with Franceso Totti

In this unique update(An idea made between me and P-Kiddy, could've been used before but i have seen it) AS Roma allow the fans to, every so often, ask a star player questions via social networking sites such as Twitter. And this month it is Franceso Totti with the hashtag on Twitter as #tottitalks.

Francesco - Oh that has to be when we were in France for the World Cup 1998! We went to this restaurant and couldnt understand a word on the menu so everyone just ordered random food and I got the worst of the bunch, Snail shells and Mussels along with a side of Crab juice.

Francesco - Daniele De Rossi without a shadow of a doubt. The man is a machine!

Francesco - Again this has to be Daniele De Rossi as he has been with me at Roma for the last 12 years. Nobody else even comes close except maybe Simone Perotta who I am also close friends with.

Francesco - Mattia Destro is absolutely hilarious! Just yesterday he covered Erik Lamelas car in shaving foam and then sprinkled sawdust on top!

Francesco - Ah, another question about friends! Since you asked so nicely I will answer! Well to be honest it would have to be one of 2. Either Gianluigi Buffon, who is a great friend of mine or Pippo Inzaghi who is another great friend of mine!

A fantastic insight into a small portion of the life of Roma fan favourite Francesco Totti, next time we will grill Erik Lamela with some quick fire questions from Twitter! Until then goodbye!

Yep, I have contacts inside the game! When Totti got the snails Inzaghi ate a cows rear end! How would know that if I hadn't asked him myself? ;)
Sweet signings, I'm particularly interested in seeing how Torje does for you. Nice the see this Twitter Q&A idea in motion. Keep it up :)

2013-07-22 19:14#121849 romanisti : Looks good. The important things about the club are there. The signings are also very good. But why you dont use the original new kits (they look great) and wtf you think about Cannavaro as Roma coach? He is a no go! I will follow this and be your bihgest critics

Louis made these kits for me and everyone else has loved them so...

And on the Cannavaro front, the point is controversy. I will be able to develop a storyline out of it...
And i love them too. It was just a question ;)! Dont forget about Romagnoli, he could be a worldclass central defender!

Bust Up In Training As Tempers Flare

Pablo Osvaldo has been suspended from Roma for 2 weeks after punching Erik Lamela, seemingly unprovoked. The incident happened at a training session at Roma's Trigoria training centre.

Our source inside AS Roma told us this happened :

"You could tell something was wrong with Pablo the moment he arrived a training. He came in at 60 mph in his car, broke quickly, then slammed his car door as he stepped out. He strode into the training pitch and picked up a football and belted it is hard as he could into the goal. Erik Lameoa came over to see him and joke about. As Erik began to spoke Pablo turned round and smashed his chin in an upper motion. Fabio Cannavaro and Roberto Muzzi arrived at the scene and detained a furious Osvaldo."

So according to our source, Pablo was riled before he even arrived at training. We have scoured for a reason for this and we simply cannot find one! There is no logical reason for Osvaldo to be mad! Unless he had just been told his wife was leaving him. But we asked her and she said everything had been fine with them before the incident. However she added it likely wouldn't be now.

Fabio Cannavaro refused to talk on the subject and Osvaldo directly however he did say this :

"I feel that training today wasn't good and action will be taken. Players maybe be forced to leave the club."

So a cryptic message from Fabio but surely Pablo Osvaldo has to leave. The disharmony in the team with him in it would be evident and some members of the team might almost be scared of him. This is Cannavaros first major challenge in management. How will he react? Hopefully the right way!

Next Update : Walter Sabatini Goes Behind Fabio's Back
Ooh, losing Osvaldo will be a tough one unless he makes up :P
Oh dear! There I was thinking Osvaldo was going to be the key man up top

Walter Sabatini Goes Behind Cannavaro's Back

Fabio Cannavaro has been left enraged after Director of Football Walter Sabatini went behind him to sign a player he had no intention of signing.

Sabatini, 57, gave Cannavaro no indication that he was signing the Brazilian youngster Fabiano, 20, from Botofago. He has expressed his anger to the media and when asked about it his temper flared :

"What Walter has done is unacceptable. It's not the fact he has signed this player. It is the fact he has signed this player without my express permission. I have won the World Cup, the greatest honour in football what has Walter achieved? Nothing, I fail to see how he has the right to do this without consulting me. I feel disappointed and let down by Walter as I thought he was a friend and ally at the club. The player also doesn't even look that great giving me the idea that Walter has poor judgement and doesn't deserve to be Director of football, however I have no power in the matter."

Our correspondents attempted to scour out Walter Sabatini but he was unavailable for comment, suggesting he may know that he has done the wrong thing and made a mistake in not conferring with Cannavaro.

The Roma fans were never exactly happy with the appointment of Fabio Cannavaro, being a former Juventus player, but this has pushed them over the edge with hashtags such as #WeLoveSabatini have appearing on Twitter along with YouTube messages of people evoking their distaste for Cannavaro by playing darts with a picture of him pinned on the board.

How will this progress? Will the rift between Cannavaro and Sabatini ever be mended? And what is the Chairman, James Pallotta's role in all of this? We will see as the season progresses!
